    Cons -

    • There was an odor of sewer that at times was overwelming in the hall and room.We had to sleep with open window 1 night for that reason. In elevator a smell of gaz in addition to sewer was coming up through elevator shaft from basement.
    • Needs an ice machine
    • Breakfast was sub standard for price. Some fruits and breads with jams. Nice espresso machine.

Short walking distance to train station and Palace of Versailles and farmer market. Rooms very quiet. Door to rooms have gasket seal all around.

Breakfast was sub standard for price. Some fruits and breads with jams. Nice espresso machine.

Everything was great (except for loud adjacent room guest). Helpful staff and service. Great buffet breakfast at great price was an added bonus! Great location on quiet side street. Short walk to train station and Versailles palace.

    Location, congeniality of staff.

    9MelissaPosted on: 1-19-2026

Friendly staff, convenient location to palace and restaurants, thrilled to find a hotel with parking (even though there was a charge and we could not make a reservation). We appreciated our room being ready early. Messages sent through Booking.com were answered quickly.

The reception staff was super friendly both night and morning shift. The location is quite handy, next to the market square and not far from the palace.

Good location, access to parking, friendly staff. Rooms were fine - clean and small.

    Fairly basic but nice.

    9MaryaPosted on: 10-11-2025

Very comfy bed, great parking, great location, friendly staff.

Truly terrible WiFi! I could not work from my room.

    7AmyPosted on: 10-4-2025

Great location and place for a tourist to come and go.

The room was a bit small and the bar was not stocked as advertised.

    8TrevorPosted on: 9-27-2025

Everything was spotless & staff were excellentWe had a good breakfast tooThe hotel Des Lys was only a 5 minutes walk from the railway station & not too far from the Palace

We were there for 4 days & the room didn't have something like a chest of drawers to put things inAlso it's a good job we'd brought ear plugs with us because the walls were so thin you could hear the people next door very loudly ?

Location was good, near interesting delicatessens, food, sellers, and restaurants. Breakfast was OK. It was easy to walk to the gardens and palace of Versailles. We took an Uber from the main train station in Versailles.

The room was dirty: places lthe toilet seat and the bedside table had not been cleaned. The heating system blew bad-smelling air, and the vague smell of sewage sometimes permeated. The heating system was not very responsive so after a cold, damp walk in the Versailles grounds, we were not able to adequately warm ourselves. Although the thermostat was set at 24, it never got greater than 22 and the room had 70% humidity so it felt cold with a giant plate, glass window looking over a parking lot, sucking heat out of the room. Possibly the most inconvenient was that we had no Internet connectivity in room eight which is far at the end of a hall. The desk clerk was patronizing, and dismissive about the Wi-Fi troubles. The night clerk was more sympathetic and verified that room 8 always has a Wi-Fi problem with a very weak signal. Another thing that happened: Also, a large desk leg fell from the desktop. It did not been glued properly. It hit me on the leg when it fell to the floor. We told two desk clerks.

friendliness of staff. Option to park.

a bit off-putting was the strong smell of cigarette smoke when coming it. It turned out that one of the staff members was such a heavy smoker (though he smoked outside) that it was enough to "perfume" the whole reception area

Nothing not to like. Everything exceeded our expectations. Super friendly staff, great location, private parking great, very comfy bed, clean & perfect for 1 night

Slight oder when you walk in room at 1st Then seems to dissipate.

Wonderful location on a quiet street with free parking, but very close to attractions: chateau, market, and restaurants. Excellent copious breakfast buffet. Very clean. Wonderful bedding and pillows.

    Nothing to dislike

Our room was perfect for us. We have two scooters. There was ample space to stow them away in the room. They didn't get in the way. The bathroom was fully handicap accessible with a shower seat and rain shower. I had the best shower.

Breakfast was served until 10:30. We came down at 10, they had run out of some items. Then we went down at 8, everything was available. You do need to set your eggs in the boiler if you want soft to hard boiled eggs. I learned how to do it. Then the eggs were great.

This hotel is on a little side street and doesn't look like much from the outside. But it has been beautifully renovated and the room was very modern and clean. Great central A/C which was very important because France was having a heat wave. The bathroom was tiny, but newly renovated with excellent water pressure. You have to pay extra for a buffet breakfast every morning. But the breakfast was good with a lot of variety. The location was also good within walking distance of a train station and lots of restaurants and shops. They have nine parking spots in a tiny parking that costs 12 euros a day.

The room was tiny, almost no room to move around and cramped for two people. But it was spotless with great AC and a tiny but nice bathroom.

additional charged breakfast was complete good options and tasty. Rooms are clean and quite , beds are confortable.

standard room a lit small, but ok for overnight after tourist visit.
