L’ESPERANCE

I was offered a lovely coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a big fresh croissant for breakfast. Staff were lovely. Room faced the cathedral and had a great view. Great location - quick walk to the Palace, a Main Street with groceries and restaurants, 2 train stations.

Location to Versailles is an easy walk. There is a charming local bar close by - Café La Pêche - and there’s a street with several restaurants and shops (excellent tea shop) within a short walk. Hotel staff is friendly and accommodating.

This was a fourth-floor walk-up, which I didn’t see mentioned in the listing. It’s bright - especially in summer - there are no blackout curtains. The room is sparse: no desk, no hairdryer.

Location! It's a 5 minutes walk from Château de Versailles.

There are no separations between the 2 bed spaces. The toilet is very small. No curtains, so water is falling on the toilet floor.

A very warm room! And the most confortable matress that I have ever had in a French hotel room. All you need to spend the night after a late concert in Versailles Theatre.

The stuff wasn't extremely friendly. The room has everything you need. The location is perfect. Warm, clean and quiet. You may have rest.

Some facilities need to be renewed.

Very welcoming on arrival, rooms were reasonable, the location was exceptional for our short stay, we had a view of the square so it was lovely to look over the cathedral and it was quiet.

Wish we had known they did meals on Sunday night as we would have dined there as the food looked good.

The location was great, our host was very welcoming and we chose to eat at the restaurant which was very nice.

Probably the only comment was the stairs up to the 3rd floor accommodation which needed to be used carefully when climbing up with luggage.

I like the location. It close to train station, city center and Versailles palace. Shops and restaurants are nearby. It has good neighbors hood around the hotel. Nice bar under the hotel.

Rooms are not cleaned properly. Bathroom is bits of dirty. There isn’t air extraction fan or ventilation in the room. So air inside is not fresh. But the hotel has served our purpose living in the well known town and seeing the palace.

Polite and efficient. Well located. Simple check in.

Possibly more facilities in the room eg. bedside lights.

Hotel conveniently located at a walking distance from the Château de Versailles, public transportation and restaurants.

Location good, breakfast good, food in restaurant tasty and good quality, hoteliers very friendly. Room was basic but clean and comfortable, with modern furniture. WiFi worked well.

Some more subdued lighting needed in the room, no hairdryer, no armchair.

Firstly, this is NOT a hotel, more like a hostel. I don’t like writing negative reviews but this was very disappointing. The walls are paper thin, you can hear the conversations of those in the stairwell/next door. Doors are loud and creaky. Bed & pillows are uncomfortable, I lay in bed hoping to wake up from this expensive nightmare. There is no reception/luggage storage and facilities are basic at best. I’m not sure how the WiFi is rated a 10 when there isn’t any. We arrived late on Monday night but within the checkin time stated on the listing. We were given a phone number to ring and waited for someone to come and open up the locked premises, led up across the closed bar (would have loved the opportunity to even purchase a bottle of water), behind the toilets and pointed up the stairs to where we would find our room… we felt more like an inconvenience than customers! I appreciate we likely paid above the odds as we travelled during the Olympics but the owners should be ashamed to charge €340/night for accommodation of this standard.

The breakfast was in the wonderful little café facing Place St. Louis. It was not included but still very affordable, like also the dishes of the menu og the café open on early morning until relatively late in the evening. Very easy walking distances.

The location of L’ESPERANCE was fantastic. It was a few blocks from the Palace of Versailles, which was insane! It is also located in a beautiful courtyard with a Church and tons of restaurants, pastry shops, grocery stores, etc. very close. In addition the food at the L’ESPERANCE's pub below was outstanding. The rooms are minimalistic style. It was a lovely stay in a great location.

The internet works best the lower you go down the stairs. If you are towards the third floor (and probably above), the signal is weaker. The children struggled with this, but as parents we enjoyed the time with our children without them glued to their phone. So, not too much of a problem.

The location was brilliant. Great view from balcony. It was clean.

Could do with a fan and instructions on how to use WiFi.

the room we had was super basic. shower we very small. No Tv in the room also.

Location and price. Comfortable and cleanliness

We super duper disliked that the wifi did not work at all. The entire trip. Low ceilings/doorways (my husband hit his head three times… ouch)
