Ambar Hotel

The hotel is very comfortable and clean, with a really wonderful restaurant. The staff were especially helpful.

There was nowhere for our group to get together. We wanted to sit on the lobby couches but we had wine and so were not allowed, even tough it was quite spacious.

Good location, clean rooms.

Everything is made poorly, with the cheapest materials - the thermostat fell from the wall when we first touched it to turn the temp down, hooks fell from the wall when we tried to hang a towel, the shower gel dispenser in the bathroom is the metallic type you would find in a gas station, and the list can go on. It's beyond me how this place would be considered 4 stars.

Clean big room, fresh furniture, nice staff.

Upon arrival, I was asked to fill in the data from my passport with a pen into some silly indigo-lined paper form. No big deal, but didn't make since they scanned our passports anyway.No harm done: A whiff of socialist bureaucracy makes the experience more authentic ;)

Location was very good for me, as I needed to be close to the port.All the spaces were very clean. Room was cozy, people were very nice and helpful, and breakfast was tasteful.

The bathroom was little small in my view, and I couldn't find in the room a blanket or a coverlet.

Staff is cordial. It is located not far from the town center, in a quite ambient - next to a park. Breakfast is okay.

This is a new property (less than a year old). It will take time for the staff to get better trained and also take care of maintenance etc. (e.g., operating elevator). As long as the hotel guests can accept this fact, the stay can be pleasant.

A very new, small 2 stores hotel, with a bistro and an unexpected fashion outlet. A convenient stop before crossing the Danube to Bulgaria or coming from there. You find it easily with GPS, otherwise it might get messy in Giurgiu.

The bistro is offering international kitchen - pizza/pasta/steaks. Nothing Romanian if you were looking for that, not even Romanian beer. Pizza is very ok, pasta comes in ridiculously small portions. The whole not too cheap, tip is automatically set on the bill. Room rates differ from what is offered by booking.com.

Very beautiful decoreted room with incredible comfortable beds, very clean. Good location, very quiet at night. We were happy to storage our bicycles inside next to a security camera. The only thing: We would wish to have constantly warm water for the shower & bathtub and a coffee machine in the room or working room-service (the phone in the room didn't work).

Wonderful new hotel with lovely modern rooms and facilities. A great onsite restaurant. The staff were really lovely; both friendly and really helpful. I was cycling Eurovelo 6 and could safely store my bike. A real oasis for a break off the bike.

they are not well prepared

I was eating breakfast and they charged me 3 hours for late checkout. stuff bad. they could've talked to me. all my group was extra charge

this is a very new stylish hotel. everything is absolutely spotless. there are a few wrinkles they need to iron out but it's early days yet. there was a safe place to store my bicycle.

staff are a little inexperienced. the key cards are temperamental.

In a new opened hotel you think that you will find nice staff , nice food or anything to be nice , especially 4 star hotel .I’ve payed a lot of money for a disgusting hotel with disgusting food and disgusting staff No offence but …..it’s reality
