About

Located in a renovated nunnery, the Nun Assisi Relais has panoramic views of Assisi and Mount Subasio. It offers a spa set in Roman excavations and uniquely-decorated rooms with design furnishings. Rooms at the 13th-century Nun Assisi Relais & Spa Museum are air conditioned and offer LCD TV, mini-bar and free internet access. Some have balconies and vaulted ceilings, and most feature town or countryside views. The Nun Spa Museum is set where once an ancient Roman amphitheater rose. It offers a complete Roman bath treatment through 4 areas with different temperature and humidity. The restaurant serves traditional Umbrian specialties such as handmade pasta with truffles, together with homemade bread and desserts. A continental breakfast is served daily. The Basilica di San Francesco, the cathedral devoted to Saint Francis, is a 15-minute walk from the property.

    Pros +

    • Fabulous Roman bath! Very kind staff. Perfect location.Very helpful recommendations for local restaurants. Would definitely return.
    • The spa is over the top. My husband had a massage and loved it. The breakfast was very good, and it’s also very close to a great pizza place. Assisi is a very special place, unspoiled. This property is within walking distance of the city center and many shops. The development of this historic property is of the highest quality. Go.
    • Nun Assisi is a perfect boutique hotel, conciliating historical heritage and modernity of decor in a package including sophistication, pristine service and intimacy and discretion. The attention to detail is commendable, and quality transpires from every detail. The basement spa is magnificent and intimate, with the classical touch provided by the brilliant integration of substantial Roman archeological elements lending to a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Conveniently located at the Assisi' Roman amphitheatre area just a few minutes walk from the beautiful historical city centre, the Nun Assisi is a must for those seeking a relaxed and top-quality stay at the heart of Umbria. We had the chance of booking the suite nr.10, enjoying the full and exclusive view of the fantastic 1610 wall fresco belonging to the ancient convent just for us, a special and worthwhile perk if you wish to go for it!

    Cons -

    • Not one thing.
    • No remarks, all perfect.
    • There is really no downside unless you have an upstairs room and you’re not comfortable with stairs. If you have mobility problems, be sure to check the location of your room in advance. Having said that, all of Assisi involves going up and down steep inclines.

It is a beautiful property with a very classic and modern design. The beds were very comfortable.

The bathrooms were small and outdated somewhat.

So beautiful and peaceful and the staff was so helpful and made me feelComfortable as a solo traveler

It was expensive for me. I treated myself but it was a financial stretch. I would have loved to stay 3 nights.

    10AlfredPosted on: 8-23-2023

Breakfast had a good selection, also freshly cooked dishes, the spa is really special, it’s built into an ancient temple underground, and the massages we got twice were simply outstanding. Really central location, everything is in reach by foot. Good design, a quiet place for a relaxing stay.

Two things we were missing: some kind of lounge or relaxation area, also the bar isn’t really a bar.Due to the heat during our stay an outdoor pool would have been much appreciated.Other than that nothing to complain about.

Simply, everything. Staff were great Room was fantastic - spacious, great standard. Pillows like “sleeping on a cloud” according to my other halfSpa area is incredible Breakfast was fantastic.Overall, really really excellent and way beyond my expectations based on the listing

The staff were superb. We were greeted by Carlos and the team with such a warm welcome. We were able to check-in early and had a complimentary glass of prosecco which was a nice surprise. Throughout orlur stay Carlos and Co. were warm, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for a stroll into town and the hotel occupies a proud position at the top of the hill. The star of the show here is the spa. A subterranean grotto of luxury unearthed in 2010 and transformed into a breathtaking experiential wellness centre. Included in our stay was an exclusive 2-hour traditional roman spa circuit and it was incredible. Thank you, Carlos and team for making our visit so unforgettable. We will be back!

Nothing. We've stayed in many hotels in Assisi over the years and this is the best.

Easy access to Assisi. Quiet place. Historical building

Cheap finishings in common areas. A notch below top SPAs in centre Italy.

    9MarkPosted on: 5-3-2023

The location, the history, the spa, the breakfast and the staff were all outstanding.

Sound travelled between the rooms and you could easily hear doors opening and closing and people walking and talking outside of the rooms.
