Hotel Minerva

I cannot believe this hotel is only 2 stars! It deserves a higher rating. We booked this very last minute - maybe 3 hours before we arrived and stayed just one night. We had missed a train and this is was the only hotel in Assisi we could find with check in after 8pm. We caught a bus from the train station and were happy that the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. The lobby was charming, staff were so friendly and welcoming, and our room and bathroom were meticulously clean and had everything we needed. The room decor, while simple, is warm and welcoming and the bed was comfortable. Assisi is on the side of a hill and this hotel is toward the bottom. It's about a 5 minute walk to the Basilica of St. Francis and 15 minute walk to Basilica of St. Clare or the Piazza Del Commune.

The location was ideal. We wanted to spend time at the Basilica, so it was very worthwhile.

It was very basic and simple. At check in we were told that breakfast would be at 7:30. We weren’t told that we needed to reserve and pay in advance. When we arrived after Mass, we were told that we did not reserve breakfast. We were then told we might be able to post for two spots. We agreed, but the hostess told us we would not receive croissants, which seemed rather absurd. We then had trouble getting coffee without asking.

The restaurant had a wonderful light breakfast with a good assortment of items to choose from. The pastries were the best we had had throughout our trip in Italy!The management and staff were so friendly and gave us excellent recommendations. Our view was spectacular, the location couldn’t have been better, and the bed was comfortable.

We were pleased with everything about our stay. We had a problem with the safe in the room and had it fixed immediately.

Great location, helpful staff, good breakfast buffet.

Rooms are small, but that is to be expected inside the old city.

The attached restaurant is an excellent place for lunch. The included breakfast was very nice and the staff Awesome. Location to the cathedral of St Francis of Assisi was very helpful.

Functional room with comfortable bed. Good A/C. Great shower pressure. Exceptional breakfast.

Reception didn't have info on mass times, didn't have any maps in English. Friendly people, but did not have much interest in us enjoying or making the most of our limited time in Assisi. Sink had poor water pressure/ flow.

Breakfast was excellent, cappuccinos were good, staff was very friendly

Block out shades in our room would have made our stay much more pleasant. The outer shutter slats could not close, and far too much light entered the room for a good sleep. Our daughter’s room had inner shutters, ours did not.

Location to the st Francis basilica, lift to access upper floor

You should request for hot water (for drink) at the restaurant. There were no water boiler / coffee maker at the room.

This is our 5th or 6th time staying in this hotel. We absolutely love the staff here, they're some of the kindest people you'll ever encounter. This hotel is literally the perfect place to stay when coming to Assisi. And in full transparency I can't wait to come back... P.S. probably the best coffee you'll find in town.

The room was very good, and the bath was wonderful.

The bed was NOT comfortable. It was so hard the floor may have been softer. When the heat came on during the night it was too warm, and we had to open the window to cool off the room.

Super friendly staff. I asked the receptionist to reserve a table for the dinner in that evening. His choice was excellent!! This hotel is located very close to the bus station so that you don’t have to drag your heavy luggage up hill. Be reminded this town is quite hilly. Very nice breakfast room, really cozy place.

Location was perfect, rooms were beautiful and clean, receptionist attentive and helpful . Very pleased!

The location was excellent, quite close to the Basilica of Saint Francis. The staff was frirndly & Adam was extremely helpful &friendly.

Sound were easily transmitted between rooms, poor soundproofing. Shower enclosure was difficult to manipulate & noisy!For the elderly, location is far & upholl to main town square.

Nice hotel in the "beginning" of Assisi - everything else is upwards from here, except parking which was down the hill a bit. Nice view down to the plains when you book a room with a view like I did. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had to leave quite early and wanted have breakfast earlier than the restaurant opened (breakfast between 7.30-9.30) and the staff let me have my breakfast even though everything was not ready after seven when I came down. Parking possibility in a parking facility nearby, cost 14 euros per day.

The restaurant was open only for breakfast. Not even a bar open. No other restaurants either very near.

This is a great hotel. The location is perfect. Right in the ancient town close to basilica. Walking distance to most sites. The room was very nice & comfortable. Breakfast was very good. And the staff was exceptional.

Everything was great!

The location, a few minutes walk to the Basilica, was fantastic. The breakfast was amazing. All the staff were so kind and warm, except Sarah, who was really grumpy all the time. Even friendly good mornings and see you later from us could not get her to smile at all. What a pity ti encounter such a person, because Assisi is such a wonderful place full of the spirit of love and charity of St Francis and Saint Claire.

Our room was overlooking the next building and so we practically had to close the windows all the time.

The location is superb. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was really good. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends.

A charming hotel with very clean room and bathroom. Very good breakfast. Very close to St. Francisc basilica and less than 300m from underground parking. Ask at the hotel to give you a card (one year validity) for a small parking discount

Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect.
