About

It is quite easy getting to El Rincón de las Descalzas Hotel as it is situated in the very center of Carmona, just 15 miles from Seville. Its rooms are connected by flowered patios and picturesque paths smelling of orange blossom and incense, with the calming sound of the fountains in the background. Calmness combines with modern comfort and luxury. There are thirteen architecturally different and individually decorated rooms.

    Pros +

    • Old village house makes for a quirky but interesting layout. You have to explore. Mid November is so very quiet. A number of small courtyards comfortable room. We only stopped one night on the way back to Sevilla, so we can't give a full review. Would like to see the place in better weather as we got caught in days of rain.
    • Staff were very helpful in finding activists.
    • Absolutely gorgeous hotel in a beautiful town on top of a hill in Andalucia.

    Cons -

    • The hotel has no parking, and you are in the center of a historic town, so finding a parking spot around the narrow streets can be a bit of a challenge to put it mildly.
    • Unless you have the air conditioning on, the air inside the rooms were stale. Although there were windows .. the air would not circulate as the whole complex was enclosed with a beautiful glass
    • Wifi not great.

I have stayed there before, so a second visit indicates that I'm content with the hotel. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful, whilst being very well located at the same time.

Courteous staff, good breakfast, good bed. Beautiful old family run hotel. Superb location.

Bathroom shower fitting allowed shower head to fall on user.Would have liked to have some hanging space in room.

Such a beautiful old house; artfully decorated to a T. Very quiet, excellent breakfast. We also enjoyed the terrace and common areas.

Clean, good location. Very “ Boutique” in terms of facilities ( not many) but fine for one night. Breakfast very average - but good coffee!

Wonderful historic hotel near the Alcazar and centre. Very atmospheric and a good recommendation for a special meal at La Yedra restaurant nearby.

Lovely staff, hotel full of character in a great location for exploring the town.

I enjoy architecture, well designed spaces, selection of materials & furnishings. Superb.Hotel staff are competent, welcoming & efficient. Location is within the walls of The Alcazar, convenient to all of the history of central Carmona. The rooms are beautiful, have comfortable beds & adequate size.

Really quaint, great shower, comfy bed, friendly staff.

Beautiful rooms, perfect location. Kind and helpful staff.

Breakfast could have a few more items to choose from.

Excellent location. Characterful property. Helpful staff but with little English.

Difficult to find and no parking, with little help to find any. The 'interior room' had a small window looking out on a staircase/dumping area. The room was claustrophobic. A basic continental breakfast.

Old Carmona is beautiful and a little gem! The Roman Amphitheatre and exhibition are stunning

    A good quality street map

I loved this place. What a fabulous and sympathetically converted old building, it is a feast for the eyes. I spent ages exploring every inch of it and taking many photos, it gave me as much pleasure as going out sightseeing did. It was extremely hot outside when I was there but the walls of the building are so thick that I didn't even need the aircon on. It was spotlessly clean, the water in the shower was hot, the WiFi was fast, and even though my window opened to an internal hallway it was very quiet (although it was a Monday night when I was there so it may be different at a busier time). There is a very comfortable lounge and a beautiful outdoor courtyard for guests to enjoy although, as a budget priced hotel there is no bar or restaurant but you will already know that from the listing. A big advantage is that there is a lift (elevator)

It is a little difficult to find, it is tucked away, back from the street a little. Although the WiFi is excellent I was unable to get a signal on my phone when in my room, obviously due to the thickness of the walls. Everything else was as I expected.

    Location & Santa Maria bedroom…

Very limited reception & services…no availability to buy any refreshments …no coffee or water…Felt responsible for this he security of the property….Access with door code & ensuring external doors closed…..handrail needed on staircase…

Nice hotel in a very good location, It is clean.

Upon arrival, no receptionist. Key left on the desk. After a long journey, got into the shower which is inside the bath. Extremely slippery with no handrail. Reported it to reception and was informed a colleague would assist the following day with a bath mat (nobody came to assist the following day). Upon check in with passports on the 30th May, lady receptionist unfriendly, disinterested and unhelpful, awful attitude towards guests (sighed and popped out cheeks). Management please check red rug in corridor as it is a trip hazard. What a shame as it is a nice hotel. Just needs a change of receptionist.

The bathroom was big, good light and pretty comfortable (water pressure, shower setup)Good size for the room, with a nice closet The staff were very friendly

The lighting in the room was not the best, too dark overallNo parkingYou could hear every sound from people passing by the corridor quite loud, not great isolationOur window was to a corridor where people would pass by so we could not really open it that much (too exposed)

The location was good for the centre of Carmona. Parking was roadside about ten minutes walk away near the Parador hotel. The hotel itself was interesting and had been well renovated with some lovely small communal areas. A good space in the small suite we had.

The bed had a hard mattress and it did affect our comfort when sleeping.
