Pros +
- Exquisite view to Blankenburg Castle from a spacious and well furnished room. Good breakfast and great food in the restaurant. Also nice that they offer charging of your e-car at a reasonable price.
- Lots of character, lovely views of schloss, the staff very friendly and helpful. Ate once very good food reasonably priced. Good central location for Hartz attractions and towns. Breakfast very good, plates of meat and cheeses, yogurt and fresh fruit, eggs cooked to order, gorgeous warm rolls all served, good coffee!
- Really magnificent location! Our rooms was very clean and beds were comfortable.
Cons -
- The access via the steep driveway can be challenging and the parking is on a slope so hold on tight to the door to avoid that it slams into the car next to you.
- Some parts beautifully updated eg the bar others not so like the dining room, maybe a work in progress? There is no lift normally not a problem but it may be for some.
- - I would prefer to have a buffet style breakfast, but I understand that the hotel has some space limitations- apart from the lovely fried eggs the breakfast wasn't of great quality: some days the cheese and the bread was a bit dry- we had furniture on our balcony, but no cushions in them, so it was not very comfortable to use, the table was dirty (had to wipe it off)- there was a kitchen corner in our suite, but no glasses or utensils- the single bed in our suite's single room, however it was not a proper bed, but a sofabed and it was not very comfortable

The dinners were delicious and it’s a beautiful view from the outdoor seating place, where you can enjoy great food and wine or coffee ?
as a solo traveler you always get the room with the parking lot view, but I guess I am used to this by now and don’t spend too much time in the room anyway
We had a wonderful stay, very warm welcome and friendly staff. Very clean and quiet and super comfortable beds. Amazing views over the valley and the castle. Excellent breakfast and nice variety of dishes for dinner and fulfilling portions. We loved it.
