Hotel Heliconia

Staff was great reception and Aaron manning breakfast tables were super customer oriented. Property was under renovation so we were given an upgrade at no cost. Beautiful location on top of the hill over looking valley.

Staff was exceptional kind and professional. The view from the hotel was beautiful. Location to restaurants and local market was key.

Hotel screwed us over so badHad a night book for Saturday and then Tuesday when we arrived Saturday they said we had two room that night and nothing for Tuesday they could not figure out the problem despite being show two completely different reservations

they stole my money for a booking I had that they did not honor

Getting out of this place!

NEVER EVER STAY HERE! We had two separate reservations to stay here one on 12.07.24 and the other 12.10.24 for one night each. When we arrived at the hotel to check in on 12.07 they advised us we had two rooms for 12.07 and none for 12.10. After showing them the 2 different reservations they took some screen shots of them and said they would advise that evening of what the problem with the 3rd party booking site we used was. After inquiring later that evening after dinner, the next day at breakfast and then for a 3rd that afternoon of 12.08 at check out, they said they did not have anything new to tell us. Now mind you the flash flood are going on during this and its a 4 hour ride back to the hotel from the beach we are staying in the next nights, so we wouldn't make the trip back on 12.10 without a confirmed reservation. The hotel refuses to acknowledge their error and has refused to refund us. STAY AWAY!

Very attentive staff specially Luis that was very patient and helped us with the activities and Ryan at restaurant was super friendly.

Well maintained and clean. Nice rooms and view

Nice quiet location with a good view. Good size room with an enclosed patio (could be better if there are screen windows to allow air circulation). Friendly and accommodating staff. It was interesting that we were the only guests at the property for the first night.

Windows in the room need screen for air circulation and keep bugs out.

Rooms are big and the view is nice. Reception was fruendly and helpful.

It is extremely noisy. The walls are so thin that you can hear people talking in rooms that are far away. It is a typical tour group hotel. People start to check out from 6. Rolling suitcases, loud talking, buses reversing with their warning sound. Then the cleaning staff is coming in, shouting on their walkie-talkies and to each other, very unprofessional. Breakfast is horrible. Undrinkable filter coffee with powder milk. The sausages must have been there for hours, cold beans rice, powder scrambled eggs and cold veggies with minced meet. Cheap thin stale toast bread, one choice of sweets but a reasonable choice of fruits. We had breakfast outside the next day.

It was called breakfast just for the sake of it! We had to stop by another place to have proper breakfast and our one of the main reasons to pick this hotel was because of breakfast included

Cleanliness, breakfast was horrible and hardly any staff to help around

As described on the website. Well-located: short car journeys to the tourist sites surrounding Monteverde. Comfortable bed, lovely view over Monteverde from the restaurant. Saw an agouti, a coati and lots of birds in the grounds.

Being a bit picky now, but the restaurant could be improved. The menu felt a bit pricey for what was on offer. Breakfast buffet was a bit basic. And it would be nice if the background music varied a bit - only so many saxophone covers of Rocket Man you can sit through before it becomes a bit grating. Wouldn’t be an issue if you plan to eat most of your meals down in Monteverde.

Bathrooms need an update

The views from our room were amazing and the children loved the duplex aspect to the room.

We stayed over new year and opted for the restaurants set menu. It wasn't cheap but we thought it was new years so would expect an increase in price. Sadly they didn't really cater for children and whilst the waiting staff tried everything they could to accommodate the children the chef was not impressed. This was the theme for the night as my husband then found foil within his meal and having mentioned it to the waiting staff we were made to feel uncomfortable for the remainder of the evening with the chef glaring at us.

the staff there were so kind, the tour activities were great, the lodge itself and the views were beautiful, the breakfast was great, the spa was wonderful, and the location was perfect.

The room given to us had no views (faced the parking lot) and offered very little privacy unfortunately.

Beautiful and a spacious room. Very comfortable beds. The view is amazing.

Basic breakfast

Good location, great views, good breakfast, and helpful staff. Every morning so many birds in the trees outside would wake us up with their chirping. So many beautiful birds: parrots, tucans, etc. Make sure to bring binoculars to see them. This was a bonus.

There was no A/C (or heater) in our room. It didn't bother us a whole lot but it would be nice to have this.

Very nice wooden mountain hotel

Breakfast was very bad. No options at all and taste was not good at all. Sorry you need to improve.

Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms. Large garden full of wildlife with a short trail around the property. Amazing views. Wonderful stay.Great, friendly staff.

This property is is very spacious with a beautiful wooden decor. We were travelling as two friends and found it a very comfortable for plenty of space in the room. the sunset from the balcony was stunning. Its comes with a fridge and small freezer which is handy.

There were a lot of bugs and flying insects that got in through the bathroom window that we were not able to fully close. But considering the location of this property it’s not surprising to have some bugs and it wasn’t horrendous. We didn’t mention this to the staff but I’m sure if we did they would have assisted straight away.
