Pros +
- The interior is n old cosy marine style
- Breakfast, big room , comfy bed, good location, interesting vintage design
- Slightly old style hotel with martime theme, good breakfast, quiet if you are not on the road
Cons -
- Only remark really was that there was no espresso in morning
- I think it is quite expensive for the small town like Arendal
- The shower area was too small, so the shower curtain kept sticking to you as you showered - yuck! We ended up folding the shower curtain over the rail and just had to put up with some of the floor getting wet :(

The design of the room. Friendly personell. Variety with breakfast. We were very happy in general.

Clean, good location. Classic hotel.
Very small shower

There was a fire alarm going 4 times during the night of 14th of January and first one had us to leave outside in the cold and wait for the firefighters but they came and there was nothing and the alarm went off again 3 times more and didn't manage to sleep because of it
location is good, town is cute, and they allowed for pets (with an additional fee). Good breakfast. Good sound proofing.
A bit dated. There is a shopping center next to hotel where there is parking. I was surprised hotel did not have an agreement for a better parking rate.
Nice staff and good location - very comfy beds
A bit old and renovated on a budget, but still deserves a 8*
This hotel is outstanding from the staff who were excellent to the refurbished hotel which has been done to keep its charm. There is a carpark building next to the hotel which is very convenient. It is a short walk into the charming town of Arendel to enjoy a meal Harbourside or enjoy a supper at the hotel we had a hearty soup and bread along with eggs, salmon and a hot potato mix. It was perfectly adequate for our needs. We have been touring around Norway for 2 weeks and this hotel would rate as the best hotel we have stayed in throughout our holiday. Well done to the hotel and to the staff.
Nothing everything was excellent
The hotel has an older “grand dame” vibe with maritime themed decorations and heavy dark fabrics with gold lettering. We had booked a family room which gave us a double bed and a sofa bed. The room was small, but the bathroom was quite large and we really liked the location. Beds were comfortable. It was a bit noisy with the window open (a necessity in the warmer summer weather) but later at night it quieted down. We were promised an evening meal but when we checked in we were told the meal would be Thai soup, potatoes and scrambled eggs- a very “interesting” combination that didn't appeal to us. We went into town for food instead. The breakfast was awesome, though, with lots of great selections. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome. It was easy to walk to town to sight see and to catch our bus out of town. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Could have used fans both for cooling and background noise. With the window open we heard quite a bit of street noise.
Good
it is supposed to have evening meal but it was only bread, ham and cheese. This should be more specific , we opted for this hotel in part because of the meal and didn't get it.
We felt like in a cruise since the decorum was like on a boat. Nice staff (they solved quickly a problem with our door lock which was blocked), hotel well placed in the center of Arendal with a car park and the harbour at walking distance. Amzing breakfast !
The room was quite small for 4.
Location is very good, parking is very close and not too expensive, breakfast was excellent!
An old fashioned classic hotel with a nice bar / reception area Very friendly receptionist welcoming us.
The smaller single room was very small
Superb choice at breakfast and beautifully presented. Excellent central location close to bus stops , shopping and waterfront
A choice for supper would have been nice but the fish soup offered was lovely with good breads
The breakfast had a lot of variety and the bed was comfortable. They also had a service of «evening meal», which is nice as a night snack.
The room was a bit small and full of furniture, so it was not the comfortable in terms of space. The bathroom worked well but also a bit small.
Breakfast was very rich and tasteful. Staff was very professional and i liked the old days design inside the hotel
There was some holes in the walls that could be easily covered up. Lighting in the rooms not as good as expected or used to. Lots of traffic outside the windows, because its located close to the main road of Arendal
I liked the central Position of the hotel close to the city center and next to a parking place that required payment. I also liked the excellent breakfast with a great variety of food, including fresh fruit
The room was relatively small and the mattress extremely smooth I am personally used to harder mattresses .
There was a good choice at the breakfast buffet. We were upgraded to a suite which was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was in a good location and all amenities were within walking distance.
The booking specified an evening meal was included. The meal on offer was bread and soup which can hardly be described as an evening meal. We had to go out and find a restaurant to eat which we had not budgeted for.
Location: close to city center and harbor. Breakfast: excellent
The interior of the hotel is outdated. Moreover we experienced a rather unpleasant mouldy smell in our room, where, by the way, even a part of the curtains mas missing.
