- The breakfast was excellent and more than sufficient. We didn‘t use the beach, but instead enjoyed lovely long Walks in the surrounding desert, finding plenty of beautiful desert flowers.
- It's the perfect retreat to unwind for a few days at the Dead Sea. Set in a spacious and protected property with bungalows set in a beautiful, tranquil and well manicured garden. Great breakfast buffet with an abundance of delicious food in the dining room. At some days, they would need to deliver the breakfast to your room, but it comes wirh such an amount of food, that you could feed yourself for the rest of the week from it ?What I enjoy the most is the all friendly welcoming staff. I would love to return ASAP.There is a large swimming pool w/ life guard at the property (closed during the winter period).Kalia Kibbutz is the perfect location to explore the sites at Dead Sea, or to hike Wadi En Gedi or Wadi Arugot and more.Bonus: At the reception you get free vouchers to visit Kalia Beach on request. Saves the parking and admission fee at the beach. ?
Cons -
- Room was tiny, old, with minimal and simple furniture.
- Facilites extremely outdated. Futon couch bed for third person too short and not clean. Insufficient linens.
- The pool times are limited, and a bit tight for those, who are out to nearby attractions like Massada or Ein Gedi during the day.

Grounds and patio were beautiful, quiet and relaxing.Breakfast was very good.Everyone was very polite and helpful.
Room was tiny, old, with minimal and simple furniture.
Close to wedding venue. Nice pool, private outdoor patio, and cafeteria style eating area.
Facilites extremely outdated. Futon couch bed for third person too short and not clean. Insufficient linens.
It wasn't my first stay here, as we try to stay with every visit to Israel at least a few days in the Kibbutz Kalia hotel. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I just love the setting if the bungalows in midst of well mainened gardens, esp. the "Desert Rose" bungalow this time. There is a nice and spacious pool ready to use for Kibbutz guests and residents. The small but well stocked grovcery store on the premises has the most essential food and non-food items for a short stay, and is most helpful, as the next grocery would be several km away at Lido Junction. The breakfast buffet is delicious and an excellent option to start the day on the Dead Sea. And, for those who are interested in visiting Qumran, the National Park is in walking distance only some 10-15 min by foot away.Last but not least, the Kibbutz is 24/7 safe by IDF serving their duty there at the gates.
The pool times are limited, and a bit tight for those, who are out to nearby attractions like Massada or Ein Gedi during the day.
What I liked most about this place? The moment I left and didn’t have to look back.
Terrible experience. Avoid this place. We arrived to find the reception closed early, forcing us to wander around in 37°C heat for 45 minutes. I repeatedly called Anna, who was supposedly responsible for the reception, and she didn’t even bother to respond until the next day. Completely unacceptable. The pool? Inaccessible. The entry chip didn’t work, and there was no one around to help.At breakfast, we were informed they were understaffed — the same excuse given for the early closure the previous day, involving someone’s wife being sick or some equally flimsy story. The customer service is abysmal. I would *never* return, and I strongly suggest you don’t either. One minor redeeming point: during breakfast I asked about nearby beaches and was told I could get a voucher from reception — assuming, of course, it’s miraculously open because their dog isn’t sick that day.And just to top things off, we later found out that our keys were inexplicably left with the soldiers at the front gate. No communication, no apology.A frustrating and unprofessional operation from start to finish.
The pool is exelent
Room is very basic and small (but clean)
room was clean.Check in easy
a few more towels
Beautiful grounds, nice room, relaxing and great pool! Breakfast was nice, and the staff was quite helpful.
Just the pool
The place just the pool was good the room was dirty I asked 2 times to clean and send for me the stafff to clean by my self the bed had stains over it the television was not working and there is no body to help Me and the breakfast was so old and dry not for eating at all .The balcony is sharing with neighbors room and there is a lot of insects and I can't sit there at all ... it was the worst stay I've ever had
The staff was very responsive and nice, and the pool was great. The suite was spacious, it also had all the necessary equipment for cooking.
The beach was not private (as they advertise), many people just drove in, so don't expect this to be a private besch for the hotel guests. The beach itself is not easily accessible with a stroller, it goes down very low, and at some points it has only stairs. The swimming area is small. The nightstands were probably broken or very strange to say the least. There was no hair dryer.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast. The ticket to Kalya Beach was a big bonus. The swimming pool was a great attraction! Nice relaxing atmosphere.
Not too many options for lunch or dinner in the area. Need to drive a bit to get to a restaurant if you keep kosher. You can bring your own bbq,
Good location. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
A little noisy.
Serene location near the Dead Sea with access to Kalia Beach. Pool really lovely. Rooms basic but clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast good. Excellent value. Very relaxing.
Nothing really. It's a kibbutz guest house so don't expect a 5* hotel!
The pool was great and so were the facilities at the beach. Which made the stay extra exciting. The staff was nice.
The room is very basic and has no view.
It's our second stay here and we enjoyed it as much as the first. We love the pool and the accommodation is spotlessly clean, everything works. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
The protected areas are not well demarcated, especially since we're still in the middle of a war. I know the area is unlikely to get rockets but it would still be more assuring.
Perfect for little ones with a no fuss breakfast with plenty of choices, 2 fantastic playgrounds for ages 0-12. One had slides and swings, the other had more musical instruments and rope climbing. There was a shaded baby pool and the shallow area of the grown up, heated pool, was also shaded. The kibbutz is absolutely stunning with incredible views and a 5 minute drive to the dead sea, and only 30 min to Jerusalem. Kids loved it.
It's a very affordable 3 star hotel, so the rooms are basic, though they provide everything you'd need. The shower was brilliant. They only serve breakfast but you can barbecue and buy food in the local shop, or drive to a restaurant near by.
It's a great place to stay: quiet and clean. There's a conveniently located mini-market where you can get small items, snacks, soft drinks, and, if desired, alcohol. They also offer good breakfast options.
The beach is situated 7 km away from the kibbutz. It wasn't clearly explained that I could have breakfast, check out, and then go to the beach. I'll do things in this order next time.
It what’s nice and pleasant , room was clean however very small and close to other rooms.
The bed was very big for couple and sound proof.
