    Pros +

    • Beautiful location and perfectly situated for exploring the Troodos Mountains. The room was spacious and nicely restored.
    • The location
    • The dining area was a beautiful inner courtyard covered with grape vines and grapes! Very inviting and idyllic.

    Cons -

    • Breakfast was skimpy and the coffee was instant - I would expect much better for the price. No water, glasses, or kettle were supplied in the room. The owner obviously wants guests to spend more money at his taverna.
    • The fumes of wet paint on the roof under our balcony. The hours of drilling and grinding and hammering in the kitchen below our room and balcony. We could not sit out we could not sleep we could hardly hear each other talk.
    • The rooms are a good size and there was a nice deck. The bathroom had a pretty strong mildew smell and the shower was quite weak.

This was a great traditional Cypriot experience. Owner was so nice and food was just delicious. Beautiful views and comfortable beds.

This place is a time capsule in Cypriot culture. Old family house to become a hotel, this building is built beautifully and organically. Akis, the owner, he is the heart of this place, he runs the place with the spirits of family heritage over there. Very hospitable, loving and caring person with respect towards his guests. This place can easily be your home at home away.

an amazing option to stop by for a night when exploring the mountains of the area.a cozy unique place that gives you a real feeling of the village. a nice river for a short walk located just below the hotel is a must too.two reasons for having a half board reservation. - no other options around, and more important - Victoria the owner has an amazing chef abilities, and her fishes are so good. she and Antonio, the owners, are an amazing couple. thanks for a short but great stay!

needs a bit fresh touch, specially the bathroom, but that is some of the atmosphere of the property - so maybe its better experience it that’s way :)

The property had a nice feel and is set in a very picturesque location. We had a lovely evening in the communal area which had a fire place which the staff lit for us

We thought it was a little over priced for off season

Very nice view, from the little balcony. Great sturdy double bed and clean room. Traditional surroundings make it worthwhile.

Breakfast was a standard plate offered by the management, but no selection was available. However, for what it was, it was good, nothing special. We realised the room didn't have a bottle of water available a bit late and there are no nearby shops to buy. The management is not present after 21:30 so we had to wait till the morning for breakfast. No slippers as well, bring your own.

We were looking forward to staying at the Ambelikos Traditional Agrohotel as a way of staying in a more rural and mountainous corner of the country. The town of Potamitissa did not disappoint and definitely provided the peace and quiet that we were looking for while also serving as a good base to explore the region. Our hotel room was in the upper area and had a working fireplace that we greatly enjoyed. For 20 euros, you can receive a crate full of chopped firewood that, in our case, lasted for three nights. The room also had a small but convenient balcony that looked over the village and was a great place to sit in the afternoon and evening - even in December. Lastly, our room also had a large jacuzzi and twenty-four hour hot water that was definitely appreciated by us. As for breakfast, it is served from eight to ten AM and includes, one egg (either scrambled or hardboiled), several slices of cheese and salami, chopped and sautéed hotdog, some bread, jam, butter, and either coffee or tea. It was simple, but more than enough to start the day. During our stay the Taverna restaurant that serves dinner was closed, so I cannot judge it.All in all, we enjoyed staying at the Ambelikos and it has all the trappings of a country lodge.

Though, overall, we were satisfied with our stay, there were several things that could be improved. For starters, the bed in our room was high up and we needed to climb up to it, a feat that was made more difficult by its squishy Ikea mattress. We joked that falling out of this bed was certain death, but it was not far from the truth. With respect to the fireplace, it was something that we were very much looking forward to, however that fireplace was designed to be seen and not to warm the room or for the soothing crackling sound that a fire makes. This was because there is (quite understandably) a smoke detector in the room and so the fireplace has a door that needs to be kept closed at all times. Nonetheless, it was relaxing to see the fire burning behind the glass. In general, the place could use some general upkeep. The jacuzzi had to be filled with the showerhead and didn't work other than as a bath. The door handle to the bathroom kept falling out, the sitting chairs in the room were uncomfortable, and we needed to specially request a kettle for the room so that we could make tea and coffee - a request that was graciously granted. There is a communal area in the hotel, but it was unattractive and I think that it could be a place for guests to meet during the evenings rather than stay in the rooms - especially since the TV in the room was so small and placed off to one side. Lastly, we were there during the peak holiday season and the hotel was woefully understaffed. By that I mean that there was exactly one employee who had to contend with the running of an entire hotel including breakfast, cleaning, washing laundry, guest requests, etc. Not surprisingly, we needed to request fresh towels and our room was only cleaned once during our stay - there is simply only so much that one person can do and I thank them for, nonetheless, being so solicitous under the circumstances.

The room is quite and in the nature.Added value: the small sauna in the room.Friendly staff. Minimal breakfast.

The location was perfect, near to Agros and Kyperounda. The room was very warm and quite big. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really nice but again I would appreciate a bigger variety of coffee selection.

I really wish there was a kettle in the room or a coffee machine. Breakfast is at 8 o clock and for families that is quite late. Also, we could hear the people from next door even though they weren't very loud.

Clean, beautiful and picturesque. Great value for your money. I booked it for my boss and his wife and daughter. They were impressed! Getting a raise for this!!

    Absolutely nothing! Everything was awesome!!!

The hotel is very cosy kept in a traditional way, which makes it cute. It's located in a really quiet, picturesque area. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very big (could be smaller and a room could be even bigger).

The bathroom was really outdated, yet clean. Breakfast was on the poor side. We received 2 slices of salami, 2 slices of turkey , 2 slices of yellow cheese and 3 slices of halloumi plus 2 fried frankfurters and marmalade for 3 people. Coffee (Nescafe) and packed juice should definitely change.

The property has a rustic atmosphere, but more on the rural side. The view to the village valley from all rooms is coming with a quiet atmosphere.the place is clean and the inner yard/dining place has a nice appealing

The breakfast was not to our liking, with no vegetables, only eggs (boiled or omelet), cheese, and sausages/pastrami.Mosquitoes are an issue even when using the sealing fan and the anti mosquito replant provided.
