About

Convento Tarifa is just 328 feet from the Puerta de Jerez, the medieval Moorish gateway to Tarifa’s old town. It offers attractive, classic-style rooms with free Wi-Fi and a TV. The hotel is a converted convent where the garden is surrounded by medieval walls. A cafeteria is available on site. The rooms at the Convento Tarifa feature tiled floors and smart, white décor. Each one has a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Staff at the 24-hour reception can provide information about what to see and do in Tarifa. The town is a popular destination for kitesurfing and the beach is just 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel, which also offers various massage treatments.

    • Paid a little extra for a suite...it was very nice and well worth it. Lovely room, nice size and good air-con, mini bar, jacuzzi bath and shower...plenty of storage. Fab.
    • The location was central, 5 minutes from the pier, restaurants, etc. The owner was friendly, staff was helpful and secured self parking (for a fee) was close by (about 2 blocks from the hotel).
    • Location, price, clean room, clean linens + towels, parking close by, helpful staff.

    Cons -

    • No TV in bedroom...it was in a side room...
    • Wallpaper starting to peel off, nothing a little update cannot do. It would be nice to have a safe and refrigerator in the room.

The staff took care of us and a wrong booking date. They were very professional and welcoming and I would recommend to friends and family. I will also stay there the next time we're on our way to Tangier.

Highly recommend this hotel! Fabulous hosts and beautiful facility. Modern renovation but tastefully in keeping with historic building. Loved it.

The people were friendly to a fault and helpful.

Lola was the greatest help. Welcoming from the start! From car parking to arranging/booking of ferry to what foods to try in foreign land for me. Perfect

Staff were very helpful and friendly. They even parked our car for us. The breakfast bar was great and very reasonable. Location excellent and all services as expected. We have stayed in many places in Tarifa and this was up there. Would definitely return.

    Central location very clean

Room was a little dark, bed a bit too soft.

The staff were very accomodating and friendly. The hotel is well located for visting the old town and restaurants, also convenient to the port for the Tangier ferries.

Convento Tarifa Hotel is ideally located in the center of Tarifa. A wonderful small, tasteful and well kept hotel. The staff went out of their way to help us find a suitable parking space and were thoroughly nice. The room was very large it had a small separate sitting room and the bathroom was also large and well designed with lovely embroidered towels. There is also a gym and generally a lot is done to present local handicraft objects to decorate the hotel.

It was a pity that as we were leaving at 8 AM we could not have breakfast that starts only at 9 AM.

Clean, comfortable place in a lovely town. Best breakfast eggs I had on the entire trip to Andalucia. Nice and helpful staff. Paid underground parking was narrow, but thanks to the expert guidance from staff, I managed to tuck away the car like a pro.

WE came to Tarifa as a jumping off point for Morocco. The hotel was located 7 minutes walk from the port and 3 minutes walk to Tarifa old town. I was in communication with the hotel before arrival and they arranged to hold my car for the entire time I was there (including the time spent in Tangier). The owner was very friendly and helpful and sent us off to one of the best meals in the trip.

Beautifully renovated former convent. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Great bed and a large walk in shower. Parking is nearby and secure and we were able to leave our car for a few days while we travelled to Morocco. Easy walking distance to the old town and to the ferry.

No tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am, so too late for the early ferry

We went for the carnival so the whole town was busy, however, the price was still really good. The suite we had was spacious with high ceilings and a comfortable bed.The bathroom was also large, clean and modern. We didn't see much else of the hotel however, we had breakfast in the downstairs café (extra charge) and it was also excellent.

Clean room, good location & friendly staff

    10TeresaPosted on: 3-1-2025

Staff went out of their way to help us with parking and with details of our day trip to Tangier. I was impressed with their kindness. The room was pretty and comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to the ferry to Morocco. Would definitely stay here again.

It's a small operation but, oh so centrally placed literally yards from the Old Town of Tarifa. The staff were ?? friendly and accomodating, and the Hotel had ????? of character. It literally used to be an old 300-ish year old Convent and the building and décor has respected the layout and materials used. The Cafeteria closes at 2100, which is understandable since the bedrooms open out onto the expansive enclosed open area which leads on from the Cafeteria, The rooms were clean, expansive and very well appointed,

Nothing much. Just no tea-making facilities in the rooms.

Large room, warm welcome. Breakfast was good, as an extra paid option.

    Bit too much road noise.

    Location, breakfast and staff

Breakfast should be offered earlier, current time is too late.
