Quinta do Mar - Country & Sea Village

The place is a bit remote, but a quick drive to a town on either side for good restaurants. The breakfast that was included was wonderful.

We really enjoyed the quiet location and grounds around the resort. We took the hiking trail to Burgau and back (3km RT) and loved the view from the cliffs. The resort has 3 pools - we enjoyed the lower pool closet to the ocean. The room was nice and quaint. The kitchen was minimal but sufficient and we like the small patio in the back.

The WiFi, when we could connect, we ridiculously slow and unstable. We could only connect in the bedrooms. This might be related to just our room though. The ceilings in our unit (616) were tapered down to about 4 at the wall, which meant they were very low throughout much of the apartment and we frequently hit our heads. There wasn't really any furniture for the 4 of us to sit together in the living area (just 2 chairs).

Rooms are dated, weird, and smell musty and dank.

The location was very nice. The gardens were beautiful, albeit a bit overgrown. Breakfast was good. Third room was good.

Our first room was a hard pass. As soon as I opened the door and saw the hideous tile, I said “nope, not sleeping in here!” The next room they gave us was very dated and smelled very bad. We stayed one night in that place, I could hardly sleep. Thankfully Tiego was working the reception the next morning and he moved us into a much nicer room (like what we’d expected from the photos). Hit and miss with reception staff. Had to ask for towels after 3 days.

Overgrown tropical garden with lots of frogs was fun. Breakfast was great! Staff were friendly.

Closest restaurant is 1km walk. Property is a bit worn.

Good location between Burgau and Luz. Great breakfast buffet. Comfortable bar/relax area. Gorgeous property, as others have said, with great potential. I sense the “vision” is good if it can be implemented.

We were in an upstairs attic unit where we could only stand up straight in the center at the roof peak. We are all tall, so we slammed our heads multiple times. Images in the booking were all of units with full height ceilings. Bed was very uncomfortable. WiFi marginally available in apt. Kitchen and bath “tired.” Water warm, not hot.

Really liked the apt we stayed in. Had a nice kitchenette. If I return to that area will definitely stay there again. Recommend stopping on the way there at a grocery store if you are getting an apt with a kitchen.

That we didn't spend more time there. Three nites wasn't enough to enjoy the full charm of the property and the area.

Great location near lovely cliff top walk to Luz or Burgau. Great breakfast spread. Large rooms at a good price.

A little rough around the edges, but a rustic charm. Mosquitos- but they had nets on windows. Maybe due to swamp areas.

Beautiful location set high near cliffs with fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Felt like a mini complete home - each “room” is effectively a 3 room villa. The breakfast was great with much choice. Very local in style. Several great restaurants and at least one notable restaurant within 10km. Very close to Luz which has a great beach, fantastic waterfront restaurants and a beautiful uncrowded beach. You would need a car to stay here and to get the most out of the area.

Would be nice to have a bedroom fan, in case of mosquitoes.

The place is ok. It was much bigger then we expected to be but since we came beginning of october, it was quiet enough for us. A bit outdated rooms, but comfortable. The most amazing asset is the location. Those sunrises and sunsets at the cliff were spectacular... I'd come back for that alone.
