Pros +
- This property is set in the middle of rice paddies and a beautiful part of Vietnam. Bikes are available to ride through the small villages and we took advantage of them to explore further. They also had a lovely cultural presentation that added some context. The food, especially the breakfast buffet, was exceptional. The property is an Eco lodge and very proud to explain the difference between an Eco Lodge, and a resort. Additionally, respect for the local customs and traditions was ingrained into the ethos of the lodge.
- What a wonderful place to explore Mai Chau from! The accommodations were superb and comfortable. The meals were delicious and reasonably priced. They provided free bicycles to explore the region, which was mostly flat and easy to navigate. There were several arranged tours you could take (for a price). The masssages were wonderful and there was a nice selection to choose from. The evening performance was entertaining. And to top things off, the weather was perfect. It truly was one of the best experience weI had in Vietnam.
- Beautiful environment when there are no festivals in nearby villages or large events on the property. Bicycles available to explore the area on your own. Excellent on site manager who handled our issues as best as he could.
Cons -
- Small things - a place to put the soap in the shower stall would have been appreciated, better quality towels that actually absorb water, and hooks narrow to the actual shower stall. The weather was chilly when we were there and so I noticed those little inconveniences.
- I wish there would have been a morning or afternoon exercise class (like yoga or tai chi). This is a perfect setting for such an experience.
- Very noisy on weekends. Strong odors and smog due to burning crops in the area.

It was a very unique experience to stay in Mai Chau Ecolodge! I would definitely recommend to visit the area and stay here! Facilities are incredible, staff super professional and kind. We enjoyed free bike rental and went around the beautiful valley of rice fields. The restaurant at the Ecolodge is very nice, high quality food and variety of dishes. Breakfast was very nice as well. We enjoyed our time at Mai Chau Ecolodge!
Our room had a great view looking out over the valley. The facilities in the room, the pool and the meals were all good especially given the location of the property. We took advantage of the free bikes to see the town. The staff also helped us arrange a waterfall/lake tour which really gave us a feel for the countryside.
Pool, restaurant, spa, view, excursions offered, friendly staff, transportation arrangements, entertainment.
I wish the bikes had gears so we could ride a bit further...or maybe some better bikes for rent.
Perfect view and locationRecommend!!
The pool is too cold No TV in our room Can be a bit cleaner in the room The dinner is expensive
great location overviewing the valley. great and big room.excelent facilities and very helpfull and acomodating staff. with excelent breakfast.
noting
The location was absolutely stunning — peaceful, surrounded by rice fields and mountains, a true escape into nature. We were also given a complimentary upgrade to a room with one of the best views we’ve ever had. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Swan, our tour guide, who made our family bicycle tour unforgettable. The lodge has a unique charm that makes you feel immersed in local culture while still being well taken care of.
The mattress was very uncomfortable, and we had muscle aches throughout our stay. There’s no room service, which made things a bit challenging with children. We also weren’t informed upon check-in about the children’s play area, which is located outside the resort grounds — better communication would have helped. Lastly, while breakfast was good, the selection was limited, especially for kids.
They gave me an upgrade of my room and i loved it! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is super kind and friendly, the view, everything! Amazing place to stay im mai chau.
Beautiful view from room, availability of tour options during stay, restaurant has a good spread of both Vietnamese/local and western dishes, free bike rentals. Rooms are very clean and services are excellent.
Pu Luong tour did not follow itinerary and tour guide did not provide much information while on the tour.
Beautiful location. Comfortable. Rooms a good size. Service was great. Food was delicious
nature and great scenery…
the menu for breakfast is always the same and not many choices. since the place is really for leisure, another facility such as gym may be, will be great…
We loved the swimming pool, the lovely ladies who gave us a foot massage and the delicious food.
Probably the best location in Mai Chau. The rooms were huge and the landscape is breathtaking. The food they serve at the restaurant is also very good. The location is surrounded by rice fields and they offer different tours and I recommend the bicycle tour which takes you through some villages where you can see authentic houses and shops
Rustic. Beautiful surroundings, also loved the free bikes and well priced massages.
A little bit old and not entirely sound proof. But is still comfortable
Everything was wonderful! As it was our honeymoon we were treated to an upgrade, it was a lovely room with a pool underneath, I’d encourage you to book this room anyway as it’s not much more. The staff were lovely and the food we ate was delicious, also ate locally too. The pool was nice but we had stayed elsewhere before in the area and had amazing views of the mountains, sadly this hasn’t got this at the main pool so another reason to book the suite. The beds were super comfortable and I set an early alarm just so we could wake up and look at the mountains. The wooden round super sized bath was incredible but the outdoor shower needs some work-shower head more like a garden hose attachment. Free bike hire with decent bikes so make use of these and have a look round however tempted you are to stay in the room, the countryside is amazing.
I didn’t know about the construction work and during the time around the main pool it did get a bit annoying, but just play some tunes and drift off. As a bit of compensation for this the hotel were offering 15% off massages, I’d already booked some so a nice touch. The spa however was a let down, it’s a cubical room with beds sectioned off with screens and not very attractive/spa like at all, the massages like most of Vietnam seem practical instead of the Weston spa like experience that were used to but happy to embrace the change, would prefer face/head not to be an added area if booking back and neck as wasn’t expecting it.
The staff, the room with private pool, food, and especially the work staff, they are very helpful and happy ?, best breakfast pho we have eaten ( beef noodle soup) waitresses super friendly.
The first day we arrived, there was a very large event going on in the village with karaoke and announcer on very loud speakers could be heard everywhere in valley. If you stay only one night, it may put you off returning. It's not the fault of eco lodge but will put people off staying if it is regularly on at weekends.Monday onwards, it was a great stay very peaceful.
Nice place to stay in Mai Chau as the view is breathtaking and the staff very nice.I would recommend the massage which is one of the best I have ever had!
Rooms are very basic
Fantastic hotel with great staff, huge room and private swimming pools for all suites. Perfect base camp to discover the valley
