About
Set in a former convent, dating from the 18th century, the Parador de Mérida provides attractive accommodations. It is within 10 minutes' walk of Mérida's main attractions. Parador de Mérida features a pleasant, traditional-style inner courtyard and beautiful gardens, where you can relax and read a book and keep cool in the midday sun. Dine in the Marmitia on-site restaurant with family or friends, where you can enjoy local-style cuisine, without leaving the hotel. There is a sauna and a gym in the Parador de Mérida, where you can do some exercise. Then you can take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool, or simply lie back in the sun on one of the sun loungers. The Roman Bridge is 2953 feet from the property while Diana Roman Temple is 984 feet walk away. Sevilla San Pablo Airport is 122 mi away.

Pros +
- A comfortable clean room....an excellent restaraunt...exceptional service and a fantastic historic setting.....Super all the way !!
- Great property and location and the room was very nice and a good value for the money.
- The location is very close to the antiquities we came to see. The room was a good size, as expected of an older property. Staff were quite amenable.
Cons -
- The food presentation was terrible They cooked the fillet steak thru the middle and cooked like a burger.
- There really wasn't anything that I found displeasing.
- The breakfast was ridiculously overpriced for what was offered. 20 Euros per person and it was basically just cereal and fruit.

It is an older property. Staffing at the reception was a bit light during check out hours, leaving customers waiting. It would be better to ensure two staff on desk from 10 to noon in order to handle clients and phone bookings.
The location was really good for us, close to the heart of the old town, as we were able to get a feel of Old Merida in the short time we were there
Bathroom possibly needed a little TLC but that was only a very minor issue
Very comfortable hotel in location , service and value . Walking distance to all important sites . Professional staff with restaurant recommendations and perfect room service ,
All good
Big rooms and bathrooms
A little old fashion roomsParking should be free
Friendly staff, location in the center
it is very basic and quite outdated. A bit too pricey in my opinion
Location was very good to visit all the places to visit in the city
The A/C was not able to cool the room below 76F during the hot days we were there.
Solid established hotel close to centre of town, nice breakfast. Beautiful building. Was easy to store our bags there and walk to the bus station.
Room was a bit dark and it was tricky to find the entrance initially.
Good bed and linen.
No tea or coffee in the room.
Big clean spacious, wheelchair accessible.
Limited, over priced menu.
E-cellent
Being from Australia and in our late 70’s we would have preferred a walk in shower but understand that is not always possible. Lamp on desk was broken and just put back together, we felt it Necessary to disconnect from power source as it was an electrical fault and would have been very dangerous without a solid connection, it was reported to reception.
Location very goodWe drove to the Roman circus & AqueductParking very convenientGood breakfast
Staff could have been more helpful in orientating gests to the location.
Great location. Comfy beds. Bar was comfortable. Bathroom needed upgrading. Hated shower over bath. Not terribly clean…..floors were dusty in places. Had to look at a blank wall very near to our window.
This converted convent had lovely high and wide rooms and corridors. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, if in need of a little TLC. Our room was standard, but we thought that it was good value for money. Breakfast was excellent, but bar and dinner prices were high in proportion to the quantity and quality. Most staff were helpful, but I was glad that I speak some Spanish, as many spoke only a little English. There were plenty of places to relax. It was very central, but there wasn't any information about the town.
Very comfortable rooms; tasteful decor. Great breakfast with lots of fresh fruit.
Would have preferred drip coffee instead of a machine but that’s a trivial quibble!
It is a pretty hotel, good location, and a good breakfast that you pay extra for. There are other issues that take away a great rating. The staff needs training and oversight.
The hotel is renovating outside. This impacts your sleep, the look of the facility, the noice. They start work outside just before 8 and talk loudly at each other outside. They should not be using this side of the building except for tour groups who are up for a bus.

Overall very good
Breakfast could have been better, it’s 6.5/10 on thetravelbreakfastblog.com, other paradores are 7.5/10.
