    • Probably the best spot for a hotel in Wakkanai. Very nice onsen and nice view over the ocean in the morning
    • Good location in central Abashiri. Across the street from 7/11, right on the river and easy walk to many restaurants. On site parking with very friendly and helpful parking attendant gentleman. On site laundry.
    • Good location. Hotel onsen was a nice bonus

    Cons -

    • X
    • Room was a bit tight for four people
    • Room and the bed were small, which made for tight spaces and little space for our luggage, which were carry-on bags. A large bag probably would not fit anywhere in the room.

Location was close to the Abashiri bus terminal (2 blocks) and relatively close to the JR station (1 km).The breakfast was good and well assorted. Also, there were some good restaurants in the neighborhood.

Room and the bed were small, which made for tight spaces and little space for our luggage, which were carry-on bags. A large bag probably would not fit anywhere in the room.

It's nice to have free treat of ice cream, yogurt & late night ramen. Laundry is comparatively cheap too.

The bath room is too small.

A reasonable place to stay when passing through Abashiri (as we did, on our way from Shiretoko to Wakkanai).

We are used to the small size of rooms in business hotels in Japan, which is understandable in Tokyo, where space is at premium, but puzzling in Abashiri, which is a sprawling town with plenty of empty lots.

I stayed at this hotel in Abashiri for two nights and had a great experience overall. The room was quite small, but that’s pretty standard for Japan, and it was arranged in a smart and comfortable way, so it didn’t bother us at all. What really stood out was the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing—especially the sashimi and other fresh seafood. Honestly, the quality of the food was impressive, something I’d normally expect from a high-end restaurant, not a hotel breakfast.Another highlight was the onsen. I used it every morning and evening. It’s located on the top floor, and the view over the Abashiri River and the coast made the experience extra special. Soaking in the hot bath while watching the scenery was just perfect, especially during winter. The location is also very convenient. It’s within walking distance to the train station, the bus terminal, and the port where you can take the icebreaker cruise. Everything you might need is nearby.I’d happily recommend this place to anyone visiting Abashiri!

Great onsen!Friendly staff. Next to the central bus station.

We were asked to wait until 3pm for check in while rooms were ready. Room is small and average.

Location was great, near abashiri station and in front of convinience store, near lots of restaurant. The onsen was so great, they have outdoor onsen with great view

    The room was bit small.

Excellent and copious breakfast!! Great onsen too

Room size is a bit too small.

    5BenPosted on: 2-18-2025

Decent public bath and good location. Not like there are that many other options in Abashiri for your location.

The room was absolutely tiny and was dated. No options to cool the room during winter which made it too hot at night unless you opened the window while it was -15°C outside. The standard double room also only had a queen sized bad the size that are often used for twin rooms as well.Staff was friendly but had to resort to broken japanese to communicate with broken english on their side.

    7ReginaPosted on: 2-15-2025

Hotel onsen is good, free "midnight" soup after 21:30

That to get a reasonable room price you don't get the room cleaned

    7AngelaPosted on: 2-4-2025

Location good, opposite 7 eleven and near the port and restaurants. Lovely view over the river. Parking although not free.

Hated self check in. Room the smallest ever. If you can’t walk around both sides of a bed it can’t be considered a double.. very small double bed meant not good sleep.. Couldn’t regulate the heat in the room so had to open the window. Maybe needs advice in English for the heater.

Location was good. Onsen was lively. Free ice cream and Yakult drink was very nice

Parking expensive - outdoors in howling gale of wind and deep snow and cost 800 yen . The room was VERY small and the bed was VERY small. It cost us 14800 yen for one night and no breakfast included. We are staying at a fancy hotel now in Sounkyo Onsen with fancy huge buffet breakfast and dinner (with unlimited crab legs) included for only 25000 yen. The Dormy Inn does not seem to be good value for money.

The view of the river was beautiful & the outdoor onsen was amazing. The complimentary popsicles were a cute touch. The breakfast was great & the staff were all lovely

    Pillows were rock hard.

    9KwanPosted on: 1-6-2025

Staff were very nice and welcoming. The onsen was unexpectedly good.

A bit difficult to get there under the snow.

Clean and organized property. Convenient location between train station and downtown.

    8SigitPosted on: 12-6-2024

Amenities, facilities and lots of freebies. Free ice cream and drinks on the 9th floor, free ramen every night, coffee at the lobby. Delicious breakfast. Great onsen. Mostly for business people.

A bit far to walk from station (800m) on a cold night with luggage, a tad short to take a cab. Bus is infrequent.

Very nice hotel with a 24-hour 7-Eleven across the street. I got the Japanese Style Room which was very interesting and quite spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly but it seemed there were a number of Trainees so check-in and check-out took some time. There are many local (and one Italian) restaurants around. The bus terminal to/from the Airport and Prison is just a 4 minute walk away. There is also a food market across the bridge behind the hotel. There are vending machines and free water and coffee at the lobby. I heard the Onsen within the hotel is amazing but I haven’t tried it. You are also provided with a bottle of water and a cake as a welcome treat which was adorable.

A centrally located hotel in the best Dormy Inn tradition. Friendly staff and more than adequate breakfast. Great onsen. Helpful advice on nearby restaurants.
