Cons -
- We were on the ground floor, but we had to go down a flight of stairs and then go up again to get out.
- Noisy, they did not mention that there is kindergarten in front of the room, inadequate bathroom, flooding when you shower. They did not clean our room for 2 days of stay, no parking, although they are advertising parking space as part of the facility. Noisy stairs. For the price - not woth it. Not even a bottle of water in the room.

Right above the sea, amazingly beautiful views from our balcony! Nice staff. 2 Lev Nespressos. Good restaurant downstairs. Very charming neighborhood!
I liked everything!
The area is beautiful, quiet and the staff in the reception very very helpful. Parking outside the hotel. We visited off season so we cannot comment on breakfast.

The rooms had a great view of the sea
We wanted to leave the hotel early in the morning and the door to exit the hotel was locked! Had to wait one hour as the person in charge came late and when we told him that this is dangerous, as anything could happen and guests cannot exit the hotel, he said that he knows this but there is something wrong with the door and many times it locks from inside! We called all numbers but no reply from management. Completely insane!
It couldn't have been any better! Great location (in "old town" which was a walker's lovely experience), close to restaurants, grocery stores, phone outlets (SIM cards), ATMs, coffee machines, etc.But the one part of our four nights here, that made our time at Hotel Casa del Mare a great experience, was the staff. They went over and above to help us arrange our onward travel. Ekaterina and Yanko at the front desk helped us out with any questions or wants that we had, and were always available to help. And the person who cleaned our room kept it very clean and well supplied. We would stay here again, without hesitation.
The location and the room.
Well, ok, I book it, but no more without breakfast. Inside there is a restaurant and it is frustrating to have to go out looking for a place to have a cup of coffe. During your holiday....no one needs that.
Lovely building and fantastic location. The view towards the sea is serene, and all the hustle and bustle of the old town is right at your doorstep.
There appeared to be an issue with the drainage system in the bathrooms, where the water couldn’t properly drain while showering and ended up spilling out into the living rooms. Some webs were visible in one of the bathroom too.
The view from the terrace is impressive and the hotel is situated directly at the sea coast in the heart of Old Sozopol. The staff was polite and friendly. They provided us with a fan and we received directions to a nicer beach nearby. Special thanks to the receptionist who was on duty on the 16th of August (during the day) for the advices and detailed explanation. :)
Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were informed that the air conditioning in the room was not working and would not be repaired during our stay. No one notified us over the phone in advance (I had a discussion with the person listed as a contact in the reservation, he did not mention anything to me about that). Respectively, we asked for some kind of compensation. The lady at the reception categorically rejected even though we did not receive a service that we had paid for. She explained to us that we could cancel the reservation for free and to look for another hotel since even the hotel manager would reject to compensate us. The issue with the air conditioning was presented to us as a fait accompli and it was obvious that we would not be able to find a decent place to stay in the height of the summer season, in the Old Town... I have worked in the tourism industry for quite a few years and my impression was that every self-respecting hotel offers some kind of compensation (even symbolic one) for its guests when there is similar fault from the property's side - discount from the reservation price, a bottle of wine/champagne, a basket with fruits, a voucher for SPA procedures.). In this sense, I would like to give a little piece of advice to the manager of this property: with a symbolic gift/discount for your guest, you could avoid a negative feedback which may cost you several thousand leva lost benefits from lost future reservations. :)) The so-called private parking consists of two parking spots which were occupied. We were informed about that after asking on the phone and were referred to the municipal parking (15 BGN per day). The cleanliness of the room did not correspond to the amount we paid for accommodation. There were long female hairs on the bed sheets when we just checked in. The bathroom and the toilet were also not so clean and the equipment was old and worn.
Nothing, it was awful
I don't have the words to describe my stay, it was so awful, I really don't recommend coming to this hotel. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When we arrived, the sheets were dirty, there was hair in the beds and the linen was dirty. Not only that, but the wifi didn't work and the kitchen was unusable. We went to reception to complain and they told us that the kitchen was not meant to be used. (Good to know that the kitchen is included in the equipment available on all the sites). And worst of all, WE DIDN'T HAVE A SINGLE ROOM SERVICE IN 1 WEEK. What's more, I was with a local so there was no problem communicating despite the fact that no-one spoke a word of English in this establishment. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.
Passable
Unhelpfull we staff we.had to carry our luggage down one steep flight to reception and then up to the 3rd floor with no help from any staff and we are both in our 60,s we will never go back to this hotel
Location
Shower flooded room, ripped voiles. Breakfast warm and sweaty meats and cheeses. Left early was promised a refund of a day's stay and parking. Have not received it after contact via email as the receptionist requested.
Breakfast was good. Enough for us and a little variety. Could have been more in the way of hot food. Reception very welcoming and informative. Head waiter also very informative and helpful. Room was clean and nice walk in shower and toiletries.Superb balcony with sea view over the bay and old and new towns.
A little more not food at breakfast would have been nice. Residents need to be reminded that if eating outside not to take food out unless you are there as the seagulls will scoff the lot in seconds! Not the fault of the hotel though a little warning may help.
Great location in the old town, very close to everywhere. The room had lovely sea view. Really nice to chill on the balcony. Room was spacious. Loved our previous stay but seems like they have lowered their standards.
Bathroom was not clean, there was black mould all over the tiles. A bit of scrubbing would've done the job. There was no plug next to the main mirror which was very annoying, couldn't even dry my hair properly. We asked to clean our room and they didn't even take the dirty towels, just left new ones on the bed and the dirty ones on the chair. Breakfast was generic.
the view was so beautiful, the room was good and the staff was super sweet
Everything was just perfect ! The Host was very polite ! The room was clean, the view from the balcony is very beautiful and we were lucky to spent some really peaceful and nice time in Casa del Mare ! ? we will be back for sure !
Excellent location! The room and bathroom were very clean. We absolutely loved this accommodation. The view from 3rd floor to Old Sozopol and Central beach were spectacular. We will recommend with pleasure. ?
