Thistle Port Dickson Hotel

The hotel is old, many facilities are not available. Room is old and not maintained well, restaurant's food is expensive and limited choices.

The pool was nice (though far too warm given the heat and humidity). Free car parking was a bonus even if the cars were not under cover or in a secure car park.

Great value for money. If you want a place where the kids can play all day while you relax by the sea, this is it! 🍦✨

The hotel invited two singers to sing the pop songs in the lobby, very loudly, the room isn't good soundproofing, almost not soundproofing, it made us very difficult to fall asleep. Not a nice stay.

Room was good but old, View from the room was excellent (as it was sea and pool view) and the breakfast was good as well...From my room I can see the sunrise and sunset, words are not enough...... to explain my feeling also you can walk towards the beach its calm and quite. My kids enjoy the pool, there are few activities in the pool for kids (need to pay for it)

Wash room was not up to the mark, as the shower hand was broken so its difficult to take shower. We have told them about the problem but they did not solve. :((((

Friendliness of the staff and the local cuisine at breakfast.

The property assets were getting old. TV in the room were broken. The toilet was not cleaned properly, had an odor upon checking in. The balcony was dusty and not suitable to go and use.

1. The room was ok, but there is no bath. 2. The main pool, especially the deep end, is nice.3. The buffet breakfast is reasonably priced at RM41 nett per pax, although we did not partake.

1. There is no bath in the room. The lock on the balcony door was not working (although it can be latched/locked, a hard tug can unlock it). The volume on the TV is too low and some channels cannot be heard.2. The infinity pool is still closed! (I was there earlier in 2025, but until now, there is no progress on the renovation/refurbishment).3. The cardio equipments in the gym are not functioning! (e.g. treadmill. Please repair). It's getting worse!4. The lifeguard on duty is not strictly enforcing the swimming dress code. People wearing normal t-shirts and pants are entering the pool. Also, kids are running in the lifts all wet!5. The customer lifts are not working and we were forced to take the service lift.6. Kids are using the jacuzzi whereas this shouldn't be so!7. The stairs at the deep end of the pool (2.5m depth) is broken (one tile/step is broken/missing) and may cause accident(s).

Might be good for a short stay, to get out of KL. The pools are great and huge! Also nice views, beach is okay not really for swimming though. Should keep in mind that this is a resort aimed at families. The staff were also super friendly and helpful and tons of parking available.

The room while huge, was super dated and looked shabby, lock broken hanging from the door, lots of black mould in the shower. Their king is two twins pushed together. Food looked terrible - saw a 2.7 rating on Google so after having a look myself decided to eat outside of the resort. Pool closes at 7, a bit early.

Thistle upgraded my room from Deluxe King to Family Room.Staff are very welcoming.The beach is private and clean. I enjoyed the fresh airPool is superb. My daughter loves it.Breakfast is amazing. My wife enjoyed her meals.

Be advised, as this is a 5 start hotel, my expectation is high. Below feedback is purely based on it:I requested for a sea-view room and a decoration/little surprise to celebrate my wife's birthday. But the respond I received from Thistle seems like AI/Bot explaining that I can have the sea-view room by upgrading the booking and the little decoration/little surprise can be done with charges. Fair enough, I dont mind to pay for it at all but, sincere respond is much appreciated. For example, "thank you for choosing Thistle as your celebration-stay. We'll try our best to fulfil the request", that's all. I've been to 3-4 star hotel countless times, most of the time the small requests are fulfilled.Room is old. I believe it will be much better after the renovation.

The breakfast should be more tasteful especially for the main course, heavy meals. Lift was under maintenance during peak season (school holiday).

Cleanliness, facilities (except pool)and rooms are very badly maintained. Shower water took very long time to be heated. The wardrobe door is spoilt and not repaired. TV not functioning. Not informed about Wifi and password. Have to ask for floor towers and the other two types of towels which normally provided in the bathroom. The Rooms smell awful. Not worth the money.

The pool area was nice, the beach view was amazing.

The room was not clean - dust and rubbish can be found under the bed (we booked the family room with double decker bed). The bedsheets are dusty. Only 2 plug points are available to be used. Breakfast was average for the menu variety.

The warm and welcoming attitude of the front desk staff truly set the tone for a relaxing stay. It made all the difference, especially since the main purpose of our staycation was to escape the hectic pace of city life and recharge.A big thumbs up for the breakfast spread—it was delicious and had a great variety.The swimming pool was fantastic, and the views were absolutely stunning. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Perhaps the hotel management could consider upgrading the toilets, but aside from that, everything else was excellent

Swimming pool, private beach, breakfast, lots of activities that is available on site eg. ATV, banana boat, jetski etc. Location was also great, short drive to good makan places for dinner.

Room was dusty but houskeeping came after i requested them to clean the room again. Ordering food from outside can be a hassle as the delivery riders are only allowed to leave our food at the security guards booth which is quite far from the main lobby.
