Cons -

At check-in, it was busy so you needed to have a korean phone number to get a number to queue the line, no one helped. When it’s not busy it didn’t matter

Everything. Food was out of this world. Lots of Veggies and crispy salad. Korean and western style. The location was excellent near the water , gardens and expo.

From arrival at the facade of the hotel through the ground floor entrance, and to the 6th floor lobby with reception, I felt it is a well designed international standard limited service hotel that you find in a city like Tokyo and Seoul. Certainly not a five star-or-over luxury hotel but Shills Stay Yeosu is just one of a few or perhaps the only truly international standard stylish hotel in the city. I stayed with 2 daughters in a Ondol room with a double bed with a mattress bedding on the floor and it was very comfortable for 3 of us. I love the bath room and the rest room with a glass wall between it and the bed room. The quality and touch was well beyond my expectation with this grade hotel. The room was not spacious but enough for 3 guests of international travelers with large suitcases. The glass wall window with a stunning view of the ocean side, the ocean bridges, and the city was the best thing I loved of the room. But I still found rooms with fully ocean side view were even better view through their glass wall windows. I felt it secure at the hotel as the access with the elevator to all guest room floors are controlled by room key, and without room key you cannot access to the floors.The lobby area was very wide open space with cozy couches and ottomans with nice style. Best part of the hotel was the staffs at the reception. Very friendly, responsive, efficient, and professional. They quickly return calls with correct information when they were not sure about answers to my questions and requests.I did not use the outdoor infinity pool as we had no time but it looked one of a kind for a hotel in the grade in such location. I did not use the cafe but it would have been nice if they are open for lunch hours, or all day dining.

Totally understandable as the city doesn’t have a public transportation networks with subway or bus lines, the only way to get to the hotel is taxi when you arrive through Yeosu Expo station. I am not sure if the hotel provided a shuttle bus from/to the station but it would be very nice if they do as I found the location of the hotel is certainly not walking distance.But it is just about 5min walk to the aqua planet, amazing aquarium that I can compare to those in the ocean side cities like Yokohama and Chiba in Japan, and from there, a nice walk to the Expo sites.It is also close with short taxi rides to the tourist spots like ocean cable car station, the Odong island ocean walk,and the Jongpo night ocean park with Nangman pocha sites(Romance Cart bars).

Clean, friendly staff

Poorly managed, 1 hour wait for checkin, no breakfast organization, line of 50 people waiting to get breakfast when dining room was full. No extra bedding when our baby needed my comforter to sleep, slept with a towel haha

Fantastic stay for 2 nights in Yeosu! Facilities were modern, clean and service was professional. Buffet breakfast was great, view was nice and it was a 5 minute taxi ride to Yeosu Station. 10 minute walk to the waterfront.

Swimming pool was closed while we were there. We were advised that it was only opening from May for summer.

The breakfast had a good selection except if you are gluten free. Although the hotel did have allergies noted on cards there were many foods I could not eat. Also there wss no gluten free pastries, muffins or bread available. A small selection could be frozen for gluten free clients.

As above with more gluten free choices. Thickeners for soups, stews etc can use pure cornflour or arrowroot which are freely available and not expensive substitutes.

24 hr reception and convenience store. Rooms had nice views

Booked 5 night with breakfast for 4 people on Booking.com, when we arrived the breakfast coupon was valid for 2 people only. It doesn’t say anywhere about that so be aware. Extra 2 people we paid out of pocket with discount. Also, need to pay to use pool

The ocean view room had a great view and was very clean. The location is very close to the Yeosu Expo train station. Staffs are helpful and professional. Breakfast has a wide selection. Fitness center was good.

The pool was not available on 20th Dec. Maybe it is closed during the winter season. I think this wasn't very clear during the booking process.
