Swiss-Belhotel Ambon

The breakfast was excellent. The pillows and mattress were also very good -- on par with Marriott properties. Given the lack of choices in Ambon, this hotel stands out as being above average. There is a refrigerator in the room and power outlets are fairly numerous. There was an excellent restaurant just 2 blocks from the hotel.

There was a light on in the closet that we couldn't figure out how to turn off. Eventually we realized we could pull the cord out of the light to turn it off. Also, the shower area has mold but, again, being Ambon, it's still a cut above.

the staff were very helpful and accommodating. They outlined a day walking tour for us which was nice . The hotel is centrally located and easy to find

the food in the sky bar was pretty bad but the view was great

The staff is friendly and even upgraded us when we arrived. My parents had joined us spontaneously and they were able to put all of our rooms on the same floor. Location is perfect for exploring the city.

It's a bit outdated.

The staff is super. We had a miscommunication issue, but they fixed it very well.

The rooms are a little bit "tired".

The bed and shower were both great. Bed 10/10 and shower 9/10. The room was spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was ok, with an egg-preparing station and toaster with a nice supply of breads. The location of the hotel was pretty central and on a quiet street. Ambon itself is not what I would call a beautiful city, more like a mini version of Colombo, mixed with Manila and Jakarta. If you have been to those places, you will know what I am saying. The waterfront market in the early morning was quite active and should not be missed.

We were unfortunately given a room that was scaffolded up that side, creating an annoying visual barrier to our view, which was the mountains to the north and the bay to the east. As the hotel was not full, it is unclear why the hotel chose to place us on that side, with workman scrambling around on the scaffolding outside of our window. It was a minor annoyance.

Sky barLovely views

Hotel airport transfer, arranged by the hotel. Expensive (300k Rp compared to 200k Rp with Grab.incl tip!)Poor driver and no air con in car.

Comfortable and cleanliness of the bed. The staff were helpful an attended to your request almost immediately. I've also for an early check-in & late check-out and was ready to pay any additional charges. To my surprised they did not charge me for my request and extended the early check-n & late check-out free of charge. There is also a bathtub in the shower which was not expected at all.

The bathroom door needs new lock as I got locked from the outside.

breakfast was good, location was also great! near mc donalds and atm's

the carpet everywhere

The location is conveniently located in the middle of Ambon so it's easy to get around anywhere. The mattress is comfortable so as the pillow. There is a small gym located on the 1st floor of the hotel for your to work-out.

The smart TV was not able to get connected to Netflix or YouTube or other online content so much so that you are only rewarded with local Indonesian TV. It will be hard for a non native speaking to watch only local production. The touch panel in the lift is not so responsive to the key card so much so that you need to re-try few times before it finally work.

Courteous front desk staff. Helped to cancel a double booking

Noise from the nearby streets

Cleanliness & location

Smell of cigarettes even though in a non-smoking room. & the lifts to the room is not so responsive to the key-card.

The breakfast was nice with an egg station, jamu, bread and warm dishes.

The hotel has seen better days. It is worn out, and since smoking is allowed in the rooms, there is a strong smell throughout.

Location is good, restaurant also good.Rooms could use an upgrade (in progress i understand)Friendly staff

Rooms are due for an upgrade ,some already done we noticed.

Very good staff and location. Room large. Good views from rooftop bar and restaurant.

Convenient to get on dive boat. A bit far from airport, though.

Difficult to find restaurants nearby other than McDonalds.

Clean,, quiet, friendly

A little outdated in need of maintenance

Poor

You must be up to smtg very serious to stay overnight in Ambon in general, but come on!This one is Totally unbelievable: seems that cleaning was never ever done neither in the room, nor in the bathroom. filthy. You can hear every single sound from the corridor and adjacent rooms.Windows not made to open at all.Even Water in the room at extra cost.AVOID.

Modern hotel in the center of Ambon, staff were quite helpful.

Rooms are a bit bland, seems mostly oriented to business travelers.

Good location, clean, good breakfast, good restaurant at the rooftop bar helpful and friendly staff

It’s better if they have a souvenir shop in the hotel with best quality of local products ?
