A lot of pools plus a beach.

Service was a bit slow in the dining room.

Staff was excellent! Pools are excellent. Breakfast was very good. Entertainment nightly was great. Great amenities. Market was great.

Wifi was not consistent. Room decor is outdated.

We used a virtual credit card when booking and paying an advance, and they had us jump through hoops because of it once we were there (including signing a declaration that it was our card!!!). They already had our money, so I don't get what the deal was.

Zuana Beach Resort never disappoints. It's a fantastic resort that provides an unparalleled experience. The amenities and infrastructure were even better with improved remodeling. Overall a fantastic experience.

Two very specific things: 1) the food could be a bit less expensive for what it is (we felt it wasn't the best value), and 2) the music played all day in the pool and lounge areas is just way too loud (and festive). It's hard to relax with a jukebox slamming into your ear all day. We asked the staff to lower the volume and they did but it was just for short periods of time before the volume going back up.

Right on the beach, with great pool area as well. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The apartment rooms are a little dated but the whole resort is well maintained.and very clean. Highly recommend.

Location and facilities

Restaurant food. We ordered food for lunch and took almost 1 hr to get prepared while other group members finished their food already. When we complained about that delay, they just took the service fee out of the bill from the poor waiter guy ! That’s unfair and unacceptable as this was not waiter issue but the hotel’s responsibility . I don’t recommend ordering food from this hotel’s restaurant .

The property is excellent. Very well kept and maintained. Bright colors, clean areas, great smelling lobby. Staff is friendly and kind. It has great amenities; various pools, slides, beach, poolside tables and sunbathing chairs. There is a very well equipped playroom for the whole family. There is a bowling area for kids, a bowling area for adults, and arcade machines to have a fun play night.

I didn’t like that we had an issue at the pool where a very toxic chemical smell affected more than 5 kids. I don’t know if it was chlorine or some other chemical but all the kids ran to their parents and many where left coughing for about an hour feeling nauseous and with head aches. Even though reported, we were told to take them to be evaluated at the enfermero but nothing was investigated or checked at the pool. We weren’t even approached to check if they got better or to let us know that they were handling the issue. I also disliked how the waiters weren’t profesional in how they served. They basically passed plates through and above us to reach the other side of the table to avoid going around. This is rude and happened a couple of times. A little maintenance could be applied at the metal base of some palm trees. Rust can cause a serious injury and tetanus to anyone walking by. I would suggest replacing with wood or recycled plastic.I was left curious to why a hotel room would have motion detection in both bedrooms, living space and no alarm visible.

Great resort, lots to do especially for kids.

Very dated, needs some major renovations, rooms look like they’re from the 90s.

Excellent pools and location near the beach. Also good food even around the pool.

Although the room was a good size it was old and it smelt really damp.

The property is great!

But the air conditioner was not working because the hotel is so preoccupied in saving electricity that they placed movement sensors in each room that where not detecting that I was in the room so it would turn on my air conditioner.

Never going back to this Hotel.

I borrowed 8 towels from the Hotel everyday for 4 days and on the last day, I had one stolen. The hotel then made me pay $51,000 for it. They took advantage like they try to do on the street. Horrible experience.

We loved the food quality, and loved the breakfast, great variety.We liked the facilities and the staff was super friendly. We stayed in the two bedroom and kitchen suite, which I highly recommend for families with kids.The beach is great!

Our bed lamp did not work. I needed to call for it to be repaired and the maintenance staff repaired it.The TV was not working, no signal at all. So I had to call and a technician was sent over to configure the TV. It was configured and then worked properly.Somehow the shower' did not have hot water! When I tried to put in it Hot water setting, I would get only cold water. So I had to call again and the staff came and checked and they realized the handle was installed in reverse, so I had to keep it in cold water setting to get hot water. The second day, the living room (second bedroom) air conditioner did not work any more. I was already tired of calling so I did not report this.These little things disappointed me since for this price you expect facilities in better condition.I didn't like that in the swimming pool that has a water slide for kids, there was group of five or six gay guys, hugging and kissing. While I have nothing against them, I believe this should not be expected to happen in a swimming pool where families take their kids for water sliding. I guess, that if the hotel sets a rule for this, then the LGBTQ+ community will scream and boycott them. Anyway, I was asked what I didn't like and I didn't like this at all!On the other hand, I was contacted by the hotel a few days before the start of my stay, and they told me that I had to pay them a deposit otherwise they would not be able to keep my booking! So this made me feel as a second class guest. Next time I go to Santa Marta I will consider other options. I had to show up by my own means and payed them the full stay in advance!. However, in the process, the person at the counter asked me many questions such as what I do for living, where I live, etc, which are not relevant for a simple stay at a hotel! This person reviewed and checked the passports several times more than a customs border officer would do! Not coming back to Zuana.

The different kind of pools, the food, the service and the suit.

Nothing that has to be with the hotel, is with the politics, is sad to see how far from the main cities is Santa Marta, you can see a big gap between poor people and wealthy, I saw lots of things according to this and how hard the people have to work in Bello Horizonte, El Rodadero and Santa Marta.

Probably the best hotel in Santa Marta, although that is a sad thing for Santa Marta. The beach is good and the entertainment is decent. Good place for families. The hotel structure and grounds were top notch. The gym and spa are good, too. The wifi is possibly the fastest of any hotel I've stayed at. There are many things to like about this hotel, but...

The management should be in charge of a Dollar Store, not a resort. They do not clean the dishes in the hotel room, and if you wash your own dishes, they charge you for using the dish soap. They do not give you hand soap for the sink and a separate bar of soap for the shower. You have to use the same bar of soap for both. The don't give you new soap even when bar is down to a sliver. You pay a premium to buy liquor from the hotel store, and have to pay another premium to take that same liquor into the hotel bowling alley even though it's the same company. The cocktails are terrible. They need to hire a proper mixologist. The espresso drinks taste like instant mix (Folgers or Nespresso or similar), not freshly ground beans. The place looks so nice, but everything is done on the super cheap. Without the excessive penny-pinching, this hotel would be wonderful.

Many pools to choose from. The food was good.

The beach was dirty no white sand a continuous line of vendors bothering you on the beach. Santa Marta is very hot and dry no relief from the sun.

Great pool area and beach which was private and had security. The staff were very nice.

The balcony doors were broken on our 5th floor room. With 3 kids under 6 it presented a lot of danger. The food was terrible - both breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights that we stayed. We had 2.5 weeks in Colombia and the food was not as good as anywhere else on our trip.

Many activities to do with your family like bolos or videogames. The food was high quality and price fair. Pools area and sea were clean and safe. They allow me to stay on hotel on all the facilities waiting for my plane.

My air conditioner, the air equipment inside principal room was very loud. Difficult to sleep with so much noise. I asked for some time to checkout, they give me half hour, but gives an hour to other guests without any additional cost. Key was not operative at the time to enter my room. That was not a good mood to finish a stay.

Lots of facilities for adults and kids. Staff are amazing, super friendly and helpful. The service was outstanding. The prices of food and drinks were very fairly priced.

Outdoor policy related to personal speakers and music was not followed. Although the resort's policy is that personal speakers/music in common areas is not allowed (property has multiple sings in common areas) staff does not enforce the rule which is very uncomfortable as it was very common to have multiple guests playing music at the same time.
