About

Located within 0.6 mi from Crystal Bay Beach, Namaste Bungalows Resort features a restaurant, bar and an outdoor pool with sun beds surrounded by tropical gardens. Diving, snorkeling and fishing trips can be arranged on site. Free Wi-Fi is accessible in all areas. Namaste is a pioneering resort on Nusa Penida. We also built the first swimming pool on the island. Namaste Bungalows Resort is perched on a cliff, where guests can take a 30-minute stroll down to the Crystal Bay Beach. Nusa Penida Island itself is reachable by a 30-minute boat ride from Sanur Harbor, which can be reached by a 30-minute car ride from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Cooled by a fan or air conditioning, spacious bungalows feature a private terrace overlooking the gardens. They are furnished with a desk and a wardrobe, while each private bathroom comes with shower facilities and toiletries. Leisurely afternoons can be spent enjoying a quiet read in the library or indulging in a pampering massage. Staff can assist with motorbike rentals, airport transfers and babysitting service at additional fees. Safety deposit boxes, barbecue facilities and a children's playground are available on site. Namaste Restaurant serves a spread of Indonesian and Western delights. Breakfast and other meals can also be ordered through room service.

    Pros +

    • Location was excellent, about 5mins from Crystal Bay and 20mins from the port. The property was like the photo, with comfortable beds and the breakfast was quite filling.Great value for money.
    • The staff was willing to box up breakfast for us because we had to leave before the restaurant opened. The rooms were cute, shower was great, and the location was near crystal bay and not far from the harbor.
    • It’s a beautiful place. Will recommend to take the hut ? like rooms. There were 5 adults, so we took the 4 Pax per hut and add on 1 mattress which was a wise choice cause the 3 pax per room is so far away from the entrance and you will need to walk down and up with your luggages. The breakfast was good, environment calming and staffs very cheerful and helpful.

    Cons -

    • The triple room was located way down the stairs so going up and down to the reception was quite the exercise.Thankfully the staff helped carried our luggage on the first night we arrived.
    • The aircond wasn’t cold.
    • The moment we reached at this place, we were very hungry and thus decided to eat at the hotel in this property, the food caused me food poisoning and led me to hospital in an emergency.Due to fever, I called them for fruit and milk so I can take it before medication but there was no response at all, no one sits at the reception, my friends tried going to kitchen to get me an apple but these people very rudely refused. This place is already isolated thus property should at least be helpful when someone is so ill.

The property at first looked pretty and we found it cute as well.

Staff was amazing! Very friendly and always helpful!

Restaurant food and service needs improvement.

The staff is very friendly. The pool is nice. The restaurant's nasi goreng for breakfast was good. The price is low and the resort is nice.

Roms are in bad condition and not clean enough for me. The bed was uncomfortably hard for me. The 3 Beds room had no warm water in the shower. I used the shower in my friend's bungalow. In total the bungalow seems to be in better but still not in good condition. Drinking water can be collected from dirty water dispenser at the reception. The rooms with 3 Beds are downhill so you have to go up a long set of very high stairs to get out of the area. Nothing for elderly , immobile or unathletic people like me (this basically is true for Nusa Penida in general).

I loved the chill, bohemian vibe of the property, the beautiful landscaping and meandering paths, the quaint and relaxing bungalows, the pretty pool area and the warm staff. It was the perfect place to stay on Penida and was well situated for day trips to all of the sights. I would definitely stay here again!

    I liked everything.

    Staff is nice.

The room is quite small, we booked for 4 persons (1 double bed and 2 single bed). The toilet is clean. The curtain is dirty. Overall is not recommended for big group of friends.

    The location

The fact that the swimming pool was dirty and the room not do clean

Staff and the wildlife. Watching the monkeys playing on the tree while having my morning coffee was priceless.

A bit too camping styled for my liking. Cows under my bathroom window. Lots of bugs, spider in the room, some in my bed.

Beautiful place, good pool and breakfast

the bathroom in the room had a sewage smell

We liked the pool of the guesthouse and the easy access to the restaurant. Nice views from the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also offered to organize our snorkeling trip (including drop off and pick up) and our transport off the island.

The prices of the restaurant weren’t competitive to the local area. We felt quite far away from the main attractions of Nusa (Kelingkin or Diamond Beach)

The location is great, The staff are very kindThe facilities were good

The room was good and clean, the only issue we had is sadly a very bad smell coming from the toilets which we did support because we stayed only one night.

Firstly, the Namaste driver picked me up from the harbour and directly took me to the hotel. At the reception, the staff was very welcoming and polite, and even offered me a welcome drink. The room itself is spacious, has a very nice view, clean sheets, and the water pressure is perfect! The pool is very refreshing, I even asked for a drink from the restaurant so that I could enjoy it while sunbathing near the pool!! The restaurant offers a wide variety of choices from asian to western and all tasted amazing! The view of the jungle of the restaurant is breathtaking. The staff are professional and friendly, always willing to help if needed. As a solo traveller, I really enjoyed Namaste and truly recommend it for anybody travelling to Nusa Penida!!

This is not really a complaint - there are many stairs, however the view that you get to see while you're going up and down is completely worth it. If you're staying in one of the rooms during your stay, the staff can even take you all the way down, near the restaurant, with a motor bike or car, so that you have less of a descent/ascent to/from your room.

Namaste staff picked me up at the harbor, drove me to the resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating, they were able to answer my questions about the island. They show me to my room, which was a big, clean, comfortable room, they have hot water shower, which was nice, after a long day, water pressure was perfect, the room had a view of their garden which was very relaxing and calming. I got to unwind with the most rejuvenating balinese massage ever, such a treat. I was told that there was a live music at the restaurant, and I went for dinner and enjoyed the performance. There were very unique choices of food, dishes that I hadn’t seen anywhere around the island; such as the pork rillettes and the mystère, the hotel provides free drinking water.Overall, it was SUCH A treat for me and I would recommend Namaste as your next stay in Penida!

The property has a decent space.

The location is far away from the port, facilities are not good and not cleaning, expensive services charges such as food, classes, rental motorbike. Expensive hotel but not supplying any basic stuff. Not good value for money.

    6JanetPosted on: 8-28-2024

The quiet location. The shape and the bathroom decor.i would like to stop here and get frustrated that I need to write more.

There was a smell in the beautiful bathroom from the drains. The stairs for an older person maybe a warning when booking.

The location and the bungalows are quite nice. The place was well maintained and offered a nice view on the jungle.

The taxi/driver/shuttle service was TERRIBLE ! A real disaster. We first booked a private tour for the day but the hotel staff allocated us a driver who couldn’t speak and understand English. It was impossible to communicate with him. Besides these communication problems, the driver was ARROGANT (laughing at us) rude, and refused many times to stop to buy some water. Furthermore, after having shared this problem with the reception of the hotel, we saw that they DIDN’T CARE about the problem as they decided to give us the SAME driver for the next day to go to the Harbor. We booked this transfer the day before at 7.45am for 6 people with luggages. The receptionnist told us at 8am that it was not possible for us to all go with the taxi (even if we precised all the information the day before). He started to laugh and told us to « find a solution by our own way because it was not jus problem ».We finally left the hotel 30 minutes late and when we arrived at the place, both drivers tried to scam us by asking more money that the amount already paid at the hotel. When we refused to give it to them, they started to ATTACK us physically. WE ARE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED about the service provided By the hotel and find that this situation is UNACCEPTABLE. We are really surprised about the lack of action of the hotel when we told them the problem. For these reasons, WE DON’T ADVICE this hotel.

Very minimal , but provides most necessities. They have a restaurant inside the premise and few good options within walking distance.

Maybe a light fixture on the bunk. We had to carry the table lamp provided .

Location is good and food was great too

We booked a cottage and a triple room. The room was smelly, although the staff did come with a room freshener and it did help a bit. We stayed a night, so it was manageable as we just slept and left early in the morning.
