    Pros +

    • The grounds are beautiful, location near Bromo a big plus and the restaurant was very good.
    • Open, nicely landscaped resort environment. Comfortable rooms with nice views. Good restaurant on site, also with nice views. A great choice for this area.
    • Location and the surrounding enviroment..

    Cons -

    • The walls between rooms were so porous I might have been sleeping in the same room as my loud neighbors. This ruined my nights sleep, short anyway because I had to get up at 3:00 am to start the trip to Bromo for the suns rise.
    • Room is quite stuffy..and the TV only have 5 channels.
    • As a repeat guest the staff know that we need to park such that we are guaranteed to be able to leave the hotel early morning for the races we go to Bromo to attend. This has been an issue in the past when we were blocked in and it took half an hour to find the owner of the car blocking us. If heading for a race start, half an hour delay is unacceptable. This will be the last time we stay at Jiwa Jawa as it again became a big problem. They phoned us 3 times and then came to our room after we were in bed, insisting we move our car. It was parked where staff had directed us to park but they didn't accept our reluctance to move it. Eventually we had to park it out on the steep, narrow road, with orange hazard cones around it, so that one of their "VIP" guests could park in the bay that had been assigned to us.Whilst I know this type of status system operates in Indonesia, I find it unacceptable that we were literally harassed to accept that we were second class guests! Unbelievable!

This is the 6th time we have stayed here and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. We were really pleased that there was a dessert awaiting us in our room. It was a nice gesture.

The staff at Jiwa Jawa are all very friendly and helpful and they kindly gave us an upgrade this trip. The room they gave us was fabulous and we were really thrilled with the size and location. The restaurant is also fantastic. Food is great and restaurant staff very professional.

More effort needed on cleanliness. The window sills were full of dead flies and the soap dispenser was empty.

Great location, great food and staff

The room could be cleaner, bathroom smelled at bit

    4RichardPosted on: 8-24-2024

    Good.

Tiny room. Strong mildew odor. Filthy bathroom (trash and debris in shower stall and feces on outside of toilet).

The hotel is nice and the common areas are well curated. The room was very small, not nice, the bathroom was poor and we had no electricity for the all night so we could not recharge the phones or dry our hairs. Stuff has been very nice and accommodating and they give us a partial refund for the trouble.Overall a nice hotel but pricy for what you get.

The resort is beautiful with a good restaurant. Staff are friendly and they helped us book the jeep tour.

The room is very small and dated with very basic facilities

Beautifully designed hotel with great views. Their restaurant has nice food and great service. Worked super well as a basecamp to Bromo.

Our room is a bit small. Kindly suggest families with children or big luggage maybe choose another room type.

The staff is really nice and food is tasty. Love their tradition local food.

Didn’t find AC control in the room. Room is kind of cold and humid, especially the bed. The bed sheet and pillow is not dry enough to keep me warm during night.

    7XinyiPosted on: 11-28-2023

Perfect view with very convenient location for sunrise chasing (30min away). Providing free afternoon tea from 4 to 6 pm and delicious local and western breakfast.

Wi-Fi connection is only in the public area, no Wi-Fi service in the private room.

Location was brilliant for the early start for Bromo sunrise tour. Great family loft room.

    3HuiyuPosted on: 6-14-2023

the only advance for this hotel is it is convenient for the Bromo tour

room is soooo cold and no heating equipment, room decoration is old, not comfortable at all.

    8JérémyPosted on: 5-31-2023

    Very good

    - a bit far away from the caldeira- for the price, a swimming pool would be welcome

It was beautiful and a quick trip to see Mt Bromo! The staff was very helpful and always had suggestions to keep us busy! Great breakfast!

Not sure if the room had a slight odor due to the sulfer from the volcano or if it was the toilet. Nothing overwhelming. Still a great stay and would recommend!

    10IvoPosted on: 4-3-2023

The rooms are nice and comfortable with a stunning views. The staff is really kind and helpful. The breakfast I can mark 9 out of 10. Location is the best if you'd like to enjoy the volcanoes trips.

The general water supply is really pathetic. The pressure of the water is up and down and taking a shower is a big adventure. WiFi - it's just to say there is a service. I don't think this is the hotel's fault or just the level of supply in those area.
