Pros +
- Cooinda Lodge was perfect. Exactly what we wanted, a really cool lodge and it felt like we were part of the national park. The room was extremely tastefully decorated, super clean and well temperature controlled. Great base to explore Kakadu, especially the Yellow Water cruise. Shop on site and restaurant are good to have nearby.
- Pool was great.Location perfect
- Stayed in Oct 23 for one night. The room was really well presented and Cool. Great location and facilites. Cafe great for pizza and a pitstop. Staff really friendly and helpful. We'd stay again.
Cons -
- Vegetarian options in the restaurant are limited to one/two.
- Rooms were tiny and not as advertisedCot provided for an adult.Mattresses extremely uncomfortable
- There isn't much on offer in the bar for lunch and dinner and the pricing is quite a lot.Only offering 4 pizza options for dinner between 5-6 until dinner starts at 6 is tough with children, needing dinner before 6.

The swimming pools are all under shade which is great. Glamping was very fun, although it takes hours for the tent to cool down if the sun is out - as hot inside as out.

Nice location. Good facilities
Too expensive
The very comfortable king-sized bed was the best part of our Outback Retreat glamping experience. The view out to the bush from the sizeable deck was also a very relaxing spot to spend time. The grounds, landscaping and general facilities, including the two swimming pools and general store at Cooinda Lodge were all good. So was the pizza we shared at the Barra Bar. The location is also very convenient for taking a Yellow Water Cruise which we would highly recommend doing, especially a sunrise one when the wildlife is waking up. It's magic!
We thought it was very expensive for what you got, or rather didn't get.Apart from cups, saucers, glasses and teaspoons there was no crockery or cutlery in our accommodation. This puzzled us and others we spoke to as it made it hard to eat any food that you had brought with you or picked up at the onsite store. Perhaps it was because there was no water source in our tent. However, if there were knives, forks, spoons and plates supplied, a plastic bucket of some sort would allow you to take them to the shared amenities block to wash them. It would seem to be a simple solution to lift the stay to a higher level and add value to the $500 a night accommodation fee. There were BBQ facilities with tables and benches in the glamping area but nothing to cook with which made them rather pointless. We felt we were being strongly urged to eat in their restaurants. Although there was coffee and several herbal teas in our tent there was also only 1 English Breakfast tea bag which was not a good start to our stay.
The beds were comfy and location of tent with bush view was lovely. Meal at restaurant was great.
The fridge had no ice for drinks. There was only one plastic bottle of drinking water (for 2 people). We needed more water and water in a jug for tea/coffee/cleaning teeth etc. There were no snacks (ie biscuits/chocolates/chips) which for $500 per night I would expect a bit more.
Our family loved this resort in an otherwise very rural area. The property has everything you need ... comfortable accommodations (we were in a traditional hotel room), two on-site restaurants, a well stocked convenience store, gas, and access to tour operators. We slept well, and the buffet breakfast (extra charge) was amazing!
Wish wifi was available in the rooms, not just the restaurant/common area.
Beautiful setting, incredible facilities, glamping tent was unbelievably beautiful and comfortable inside. Book the Glamping with bathroom inside - that was a total surprise bonus!
The cost was incredibly high, however it was a brilliant stay and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment
Centrally located to a lot of activities in Kakadu. Very nice staff. Great food.
Close to Yellow Water cruise.
Overpriced. Basic amenities, and food/service is only average. For the price you pay, it should be a lot better.
Staff were exceptional! Kind, smiling, helpful. The room/tent was clean and we had the chance to be quite isolated from others. The bed was perfect. The swimming pool, also perfect : spacious, with shadows, for everyone to enjoy. The restaurant is also really good.
The common area with toilets and showers could be cleaner for the standing.
Glamping tents were very comfortable. Staff were fantastic
Food at restaurant was of good quality but very overpriced
Well located to see the National Park
Food options were limited and Very expensive. When staying in the lodges you are not able to self cater. Food options were time limited and very expensive. If you get back from exploring outside of breakfast or lunch hours there are very few options.
Clean, great spot to explore Kakadu and go fishing. The pool is great and food was delicious.
We liked the spread of facilities and the relaxed nature of the accommodation and surrounds
The room was a bit too small for a family room.
Great setup. Shop, fuel and decent resort. Great base from which to explore Kakadu. Very accommodating of food allergies.
Wifi was terrible. Have stayed in properties far more remote with great wifi. I think this needs to be a priority to address.
Loved that we could catch the Yellow River Croc cruise from. Cooinda, it was so convenient. The pool was large, clean and warm with the grounds very well maintained
Clean and comfortable room.
Extremely poor wifi.Food was overpriced.
Greenery and wildlife.
Staff start super early and use quad bikes etc (load) first thing in the morning. Therefore no sleep-ins. Food is expensive. Same price in the bistro as the restaurant with is covered in mosquitos and very slow wifi.
