Pros +
- Location, attention from owners was exceptional, cabin rooms private and charming. It was all above and beyond. Highly recommend. Great food, too.
- This is the best place in the area. The cabins are comfortable and the setting is beautiful. We appreciated the staff making our anniversary dinner memorable. The front-desk, restaurant, and bar staff were wonderful.
- We enjoyed our stay. This place was amazing set in the most beautiful surroundings. The walk down to the river was worth the time. The rooms are clean and the bathroom with the full glass window looking out to the rainforest was serene.Jason was very helpful. He gave us information about what to do and where to go. And on the day we left we had a flat tyre and Jason was very kind to help us out to change it.
Cons -
- My daughter-in-law was ill and threw up on her luggage full of clothes unexpectedly. The owner would not allow the staff to help us launder her clothes, even for extra pay. We offered to forego the room linen changes, but still the owner refused. They asked us to go to another hotel for help. Then, they did not refresh our linens on the third day. Last, the electricity went out during our move-out early morning in the dark, presenting a challenging move-out by flashlight. The forest around our cabins was not special. We saw no birds or animals on the property.
- Pictures alluded to being in the treetops. It was close to the ground which was slushy and smelly.Smelled like sewerage at the entranceNo wifi in cabinsSpa not operatingBreakfast was ordinaryThe price was very high compared to other places, so we assumed this was something very special. It wasn’t worth the extra cost
- The wine options for dinner at the on-site restaurant could be a lot better for the price you pay.

Inside - the cabins were great

The Tranquility. The quality of the cabins were better than expected - ie every thing is sealed, you don't feel like animals will get in and there is AirCon. The shower looking into the Daintree is a lovely way to wake up! Breakfast was included in the price which was lovely.
The wine options for dinner at the on-site restaurant could be a lot better for the price you pay.
Lovely little place in the rainforest. Unfortunately we hardly slept a wink as it rained very heavily for most of the night and as the roof was made of metal with clear glass windows in the roof it was very noisy! Inside the curtains didn’t fit the windows very well so the light came through and so we were awake early also if we had slept at all! The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we were billed on the incorrect credit card also which was a pain! Take your mosquito repellent and wear at all times!
Amazing location and super friendly staff. Jason & his team really look after their guests, the food was great and the cabins are very well appointed. Highly recommended for a magical rainforest experience.??
It was in the heart of the Daintree rainforest and what a beautiful spot it is! You are surrounded by the rainforest and jungle, with a nice holiday and modern touch to it to suit your holiday and relaxation needs. Even a nice spa to cool off from the heat as well. The Daintree wilderness lodge is also close to all tourist attraction spots such as ocean safari, croc cruises, Daintree swimming holes and so much more! The staff we so lovely and accommodating, made me and my partner feel so welcome and at home while we were away from home. We will definitely be coming back!
There’s nothing to fault about the property!
We had a great stay. The cabins were cleverly appointed so you couldn’t see your neighbour. We felt like we were there in our own. The rainforest surrounded us, it was truly magical. The cabins were really clean and the towels, bed and pillows were extra comfy. Great toiletries too. Jan and Lee are great hosts. Very friendly and helpful. Even though we were there in the wet, we loved it!
I would have liked some extra crockery and cutlery in the cabin. A few plates, bowls, knives and forks. We wanted to put together a cheese board but didn’t have anything to put it on. The breakfast was OK. The fresh fruit plate and juice was a lovely addition. I think for the price though, I would suggest to have more variety and have free coffee top ups.
Perfect location. Extremely friendly staff. Excellent food.
LOVED the tucked-away location in the rainforest. All the cabins were well spaced and private. The bathroom was really well appointed and despite being prepared to compromise on the hot water or the shower pressure it exceeded our expectations. The food was locally sourced, excellent quality and cooked by Jason to take into account individual preferences. The plunge pool was refreshing for a dip after a hot day in the rainforest. Sadly we didn't see a cassowary but the Night Walk which Jason organised for us with a well-informed naturalist was superb. The following day we followed the Nature Walk around the Wilderness Lodge grounds and spotted a Musky Rat-Kangaroo which was cute. All the staff were friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
Nothing....it was great!
Close to nature
No swimming pool. The one that’s shown on the website is abit deceiving because it is a spa not a swimming pool
Cosy settled in the rainforest with 20 meters to next cabin. Only 7 cabins, total, we had 2x since traveled with our teenage kids. This made us feel special to the wonderful staff we met, and what a kitchen. Wooho - 10 points on the dinner!
Nothing - perhaps initially, the fact that the spa pool was not heated, but since it was 30 degrees, i expect this was the intention, to cool off the heat in the afternoon which was lovely.
This was a Robinson Crusoe meets the 21st century style in the rainforest. The accommodation, food, setting and the staff were all excellent.
It’s not a stay it’s the full experience in a rainforest. Lovely cabins lovely staff

We had a wonderful stay. Each lodge is a private house surrounded by the forest, offering a great connection to nature. The staff was outstanding, and the restaurant was excellent with exceptional service. Highly recommended for nature lovers!
Beautiful lodge, set back in the rainforest. Stunning bathroom with window looking right into the rainforest. Easy to get to with lots of short walks close by.
Beautiful property nestled in the rainforest! The setting was serene and surrounded by lush greenery, providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a day of exploring the natural surroundings. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
This eco lodge is a real gem. It is run on sustainable principles, with everything elevated above Rainforest ground. Each visitor is assigned their own detached hut at the end of a walkway, and the huts have lots of windows and a long skylight to look out at the rain forest where you see cassowary droppings. The beds are highly comfortable and bathroom is amazing with natural bath fittings and the shower having a full height window. Staff are lovely with lots of information provided about the Rainforest and surrounding area to explore. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were superb. Loved our stay.
Did not see Cassowary on are two walks, but maybe next time.
On southern edge of Daintree so easy to get to. Lovely reception / dining area.
No where to sit in the rooms.
