Pension TUPUNA is a fantastic place with very friendly people. The ocean is literally on your doorstep so you couldn't ask for more. We did feel very safe there, even when we left all windows open for the whole day. The breakfasts were typically french/Polynesian - lots of fresh fruit, baguette, jam, coffee, some eggs if you need (extra paid).
We loved the room with the view over the lagoon. It felt rustic and very authentic. Its in a jungle like setting with lots of lush trees and shrubs. The breakfast of fruits, bread and jam was also very tasty and we also enjoyed the dinner served in the restaurant there. The staff are extremely helpful and lovely too. Special thanks to Rose!

Cons -

The wifi coverage could be better, because in order to get to the internet we had to connect in another bungalow and unfortunately it didn't work well in ours.
It was quite remote and there was nothing nearby. I would definitely advise hiring a car, especially if you want to explore the island and to eat out.
