The room was large but completely empty. It's missing at least a small mirror and a table/shelf. Having to empty your bags on the floor isn't ideal. The hostel is also very noisy, with no respect for the other guests and shouting late into the night

Fantastic location and super friendly staff, nice pool in centre of hostel. Brand new bathrooms which was nice and air conditioning in the dorm room, which was great.

Bathroom was clean and spacious. Good showers. Nice activities.

The hostel is just a 5-minute walk from the beach, so the location is perfect. They organize activities like yoga, Pilates, and BBQs, and the swimming pool is really nice. I would definitely come back.

The hostel has a huge capacity, so there were a lot of people, and it could be a bit loud at night because the walls weren’t soundproof and the doors were very loud. Considering the number of guests, it would be appropriate to clean the kitchen and toilets more often. Overall, though, it’s a nice and comfortable hostel.

The localisation is centrale next to the beach, shop, cafe... The kitchen, dorm and bathroom were clean even in the evening. You can hire bikes, surfboard for the day. And there is activities like yoga or pilates. The personel is very friendly.

Pool could do with a good clean daily

Staff (as has been with all YHA Hostels) were great. Superb location, one min walk to the beach.

Having stayed in YHA sydney, brisbane and melbourne, this was by far the most tired and lacked atmosphere. The accommodation is very basic and so felt very expensive by comparison to other stays. Also worth considering that given the design of the building around a large central courtyard & pool, all noise from common areas amplifies echos to the bedrooms which have half window half netting, regardless of the noise curfew at night (which isn’t policed). The doors also are not soft closing so there is door banging all morning when people are up. Worth bringing ear plugs or considering the other YHA in Byron Bay for these reasons (maybe a different design and more modern).

The room & bathrooms were nice and clean, liked the addition of a smart TV in the private room. The other guests were all very friendly and nice.

Unfortunately we were in a room next to a group of schoolies meaning we were unable to sleep as they were up all night slamming doors, shouting etc. during the schoolies period it would be good to warn other guests ahead of this as were completely unaware it was schoolies week.

Great location and good value for the place.

The least you can provide is a bit of privacy like a curtain. The bathrooms were dirty all the time and it was quite noisy in comparison to other hostels I’ve been too. It was hard to actually relax as there is zero chance of privacy

Room was lovely, comfy beds, shared showers were nice and they had a great common room that we spent a lot of time in while waiting for the greyhound. Kitchen was one of the best I’d seen in Australia

Bathrooms were a little dirty

The staff at reception is very kind and always happy to help !!! I forgot my hairdryer so I ask for one and they didn’t doubt in gave it to me :)

Terrific location in town, friendly, helpful staff, modern bathrooms, new air con in room, comfy pillow, nice pool to cool off in. Chilled, quiet vibe. Good value for Byron.

Pool could be cleaner

Friendliness from the front desk staff. Claire was fantastic.

Quiet time starting at 10PM (used to be 11PM) but light are out in the eating area, and we got kicked because they had to clean.

The tv room it’s not cozy and the toilets were a bit dirty

A great hostel that felt more like a mini-motel. The pool was amazing with lots of space for everyone. The showers and bathrooms were brand new and regularly cleaned + the rooms were comfortable. Lots of space to dry clothes outside and they even put out a little table and chairs in front of your room.

The kitchen could be very busy and a lot of the equipment is a little aged. Other than that, not much to complain about.

Great location, super comfy beds, loved the pool. 2 minute walk to the beach! near Aldi and woollies, lots of places to book surfing and tours too. Bathrooms were the best I’ve ever seen at a hostel. Would recommend :)

Location, the wonderful pool, I have been staying here on my Byron visits since 2011.
