It has a lovely verandah area. Without it the unit would have been overpriced for what it was.

No curtains so at night you had to close the verandah blinds to get privacy and stop lights shining in.

Compact and clean. Contained everything we needed and all very attractive.

Missing a lot of basic kitchen utensils as chopping board, cups, broom etc..

Julian’s apartments are great, the location was excellent and staff friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely rebook if coming back to Byron.

We arrived in Byron Bay and were told there was an administrative mistake and Julian Apartments had cancelled our booking however they hadn't informed Booking.com. As the date of our holiday approached we received numerous emails from Booking.com confirming that our holiday was imminent. The Manager advised us that the apartment's owners were staying in the apartment allocated to us and couldn't be moved. We were offered a room in a Guest House on the western side of Byron Bay as our alternative accommodation. Not near the beach. Julian Apartments charged my Credit Card the same rate for the Guest House as Julian Apartments.

Lovely apartment in a beautiful location, a short walk from the beach and surrounded by gorgeous bush life. We had all the amenities we needed and were very comfortable. Love from New Zealand!

The location is simply fantastic. Everything is within walking distance: the lighthouse, Clark's Beach right outside, local shops, and restaurants like Casa Luna and Trattoria Basiloco (delicious). Jamie and Annie are simply fantastic. Thank you again. Apartment 12 is beautiful, with a magnificent terrace overlooking the forest, quiet, and bright. However, the apartment could use a new air conditioner, refrigerator, and stove. The air conditioner is sticky, has an unpleasant odor, and emits black particles. Cooking on the stove was very difficult because the heat couldn't be regulated. The refrigerator lacks a separate freezer compartment, which is very important for me as a long-term vacationer. Furthermore, food left behind was completely frozen.

Location was great and unit layout was great, but did not align with the photos offered at time of booking.Cleaner was very friendly and helpful.

The Owner could have been a bit more responsive. A query raised one month before our arrival (via bookings.com) was never answered. A phone message on our day of arrival similarly was never responded to. The efficient and caring answering service did follow up twice with us, but we are still waiting for an answer from the owner. :(The safe was not operational and undercover secure parking was hampered by the main entrance gate being raised for days on end. :(Bathroom handle needed to be reattached by us.Tumble dryer ineffective in drying off towels.Standing light in the living room had two broken legs and was a hazard. :(Flyscreen door ineffective against mosquitoes due to the large hole in the screen.Photos at time of booking showed comfortable lounge on the balcony; no such thing for our unit.To offer an apartment located across the road from the beach, without beach towels is astounding and it would have been ideal to have access to a bbq.

One set of towels for a week’s stay, no bbq on site and no reply to my email requesting same. Coffee pods didn’t fit, fridge hard to access. Bedside lamps useless for reading, bedroom light didn’t work. Road noise was annoying from sunup to sundown.

Location

Our stay was double booked for the first of our four nights. We found this out when we were on the way there. This is quite a regular occurrence apparently, taking place “once every three years”. Host was almost impossible to get hold of, the reception desk is a call centre away from the property who were unable to get hold of the host for almost the entirety of our two hour drive. Nothing was done to help us. If they try to refute any of this, I have a clear email thread showing everything we did to try and get hold of them. We managed to book somewhere else at short notice. Julian’s appartments have covered the cost of our additional stay elsewhere but were upsettingly unhelpful. No discount on our stay or compensation for the potential danger and stress they put us through. We did ask for some sort of discount or partial refund and have been waiting for 20 days for the promised communication regarding it. We were put in danger with the very real possibility of having nowhere to stay that night. When we finally did get the keys, furniture was broken and no attempt to fix it was made. The housekeeper was exceptional but otherwise, the attitude towards customer care and running of the business is inadequate.

Disappointing

Overall this property was nice- the room was good and so was the location. However we had a big issue with the cleaning staff of the property. Both mornings we were woken up by them trying to get in our room at 7am whilst we were sleeping. On the second morning they actually walked into the room unannounced whilst we were in bed asleep. This made us feel very uncomfortable and as if we were not secure in our room. When alerting reception of this they were not very apologetic of the situation. A simple knock on the door could have very easily fixed this situation as it was very alarming to wake up to someone trying to get into your room both mornings. Another issue we had was the “smart tv” was unable to connect to the internet so it’s features were useless.

The room had broken toilet seat the outdoor shutters wouldn't fully close and the bed was small and very hard For the amount of money you pay each night these apartments facilities should be better matained.

A few things broken including side access gate to balcony. Dishwasher left with food inside. Sand on floor.

location was fairly quiet and near the beach and lighthouse walk. Room was right at back and quiet and on rainforest with its own garden. I was upgraded to a bigger room at the back which was very comfortable and large. Bed very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking good. Kitchen was comprehensive. Nice open french windows all around. Nice open spaces, dining, lounge and bedroom area.

Furnishings were tired, kind of old and worn. But for price and location fine. There was no dryer. No TV in bed area. Came with old books to read which were kind of creepy. Would have preferred not to have had them. It was a fair walk into Byron but I did have a car. Wouldnt have been keen to be here without a car. Bathroom was a bit worn out. Needs renovating.... but then the price would go up...

The location was great, but I especially like the young man that helped us out when I had locked us out of the apartment. The young man was so patient and helpful and got us back into the apartment with no hassles at all, he was so so helpful.
