Avoid this hostel at all costs and spend a little more for comfort and to be closer to town / the beach.

Three female showers for way too many guests. The bathrooms were disgusting/definitely are never cleaned and girls were topless at mid day by the volleyball court. Reeked of BO and we*d everywhere. we got the private room "island retreat" and the room was so dirty and all the furniture should be replaced.

It was clean, had a pool, and had a very fun vibe, including a bar. Staff was really friendly.

Thought I booked a bed in a room (as pictured) but turns out it was a tent (this happened to several other people in the line to check in - which took about 30-40 minutes as only one person was checking in people though there were more computers that could have been used). They did allow me to upgrade to the room pictured. Both the bed and the tent are overpriced for the facilities as they are trying to cram a lot of people in (I believe I paid a little over 50 for one night). No charging port next to bed, no curtains, no bathroom next to room (about a 3 min walk away), no freezer, had to pay to rent a mug, fridges were practically unusable, and people were playing drums/music until about 3:30am directly outside my sleeping area. Also have to download an app for the room key, which I could not get to download in reception because of poor wifi connection - just a little bit annoying. I can see how this property could be really fun and a wonderful social stay but it’s definitely not for one night/just a sleep and it’s trying to get a lot of money from you, at odds with it’s hippie projection. Would definitely be willing to overlook some things if the price was not so so steep.

Good location, polite staff, good vibe, nice place overall.

Not a quiet place, so if is quiet that you sre after maybe not the right place.

A clean and cozy spot with lots of events going on. They also offer rentals for beach activities, which is super convenient!

    Staff were friendly, nice facilities

    Room was not very insulated

Lots of birds around. Laundry on site. The lake and the water dragon were nice to see. The events are really nice. The staff at reception, cafe and room cleaning are very nice.

The kitchen and eating area were often times not cleaned properly. The music was very loud all day and sometimes went beyond 10pm.

The bathroom was clean, the atmosphere had a good vibe, the price was very reasonable, and the place was really beautiful

I didn’t like that the camping spots were so close together and right next to the bar, as the noise from the speakers was very loud and went on until late

    10KarlaPosted on: 5-1-2025

My room was very comfortable and it had lockers available for me to leave my valuables. The hostel counts with awesome common areas such as the swimming pool, hammocks for you to chill, picnic tables, volleyball court where people play and are super friendly to invite others, they have cinema nights, and the best receptionist in the world, Mr. Pickles!

The kitchen closes at 10 pm, however that is understandable.

Great vibe. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Respectful room mates

The staff were very nice and helpful! It’s cool that they have volleyball and pool!

We stayed in a private en suite room. I can’t recommend it. The room smelled strongly of bleach for the entire two days we were there. There was no table anywhere in the room and nowhere to hang towels. The fridge and kettle are in the toilet. And a dirty towel from a previous guest had been left behind the bathroom door. The bed was also uncomfortable but this is to be expected in a hostel.

    I want my money back

Really dirty, bad smell, full of insects and really expensive

    7GeorgiaPosted on: 4-27-2025

The room was spacious and clean (apart from the fan caked in dust) and it was in walking distance of Byron Bay town. The pool area was nice and the toilet and shower facilities were fairly clean and plentiful. The bar on the premises was super cheap and had a good drinks and food selection.

The hostel is definitely geared up to younger travellers, on one night the on-site bar put a rave on until 12am with terrible music blasting extremely loudly. The shared kitchen was also so filthy that we couldn't bring ourselves to use it. You also have to download an app to use as your access key for the door and front gate which was bizarre and really annoying as it didn't always work straight away. However there were no major issues and we'd stay again.

Nicole was a great help on reception and made the stay better!

Cleaning of floors, Bathrooms and kitchen areas could be improved. The lack of plates etc in the kitchen was bizzare.

    6SlatteryPosted on: 4-26-2025

Affordable, lots of young sociable people, $5 tacos at happy hour.

A bit rough around the edges but fairly typical for a hostel

    7TamaraPosted on: 4-26-2025

One the most beautiful hostels I’ve ever been to in terms of gorgeous gardens and environment. The staff are so lovely, from front desk to the onsite bar.

Loud music from 8am in the cafe. Bathrooms and communal kitchen appliances need an uplift

    2JosephPosted on: 4-25-2025

The facilities for a hostel were decent. The bathrooms were good.

We bought a space in a “camp site” for a tent. What we were greeted with was about 3metres x 3metres of a muddy patch of ground, with the other “sites” separated by string on the floor. It wasn’t what I would call a campsite - especially for the money we paid.
