    Pros +

    • This historic property exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Shearers Quarters in room 1. What is a very old building on the outside has been refurbished inside to modern standards. So spacious and with the bonus of the lounge chairs for extra comfort. The decor was modern and fresh and the bed was lovely with quality linen. A great bathroom topped the room off. We were given a map of the property and it is well worth roaming around to see the historic buildings. We had dinner in the Glasshouse Restaurant and it was superb. The staff on site and in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. All up just a wonderful place to visit.
    • Having stayed at Goonoo Goonoo before, I wanted to share the beautiful countryside ambience and history of the station with my partner. She was not disappointed, making many comments about the peaceful nature of the property and the attractiveness of the surrounding landscape. While the rooms are welcoming, modern and clean, the highlight of the venue is The Glasshouse Restaurant which again did not disappoint with the absolutely delectable dinner we enjoyed. For the price paid (Shearer's Quarters), my guest experience was as highly commendable as it had been for previous stays.
    • Clean and modern room with lots of luxurious touches. Lovely staff. Excellent restaurant on the property. Beautiful grounds, very well taken care of.

    Cons -

    • The only thing I think people might 'dislike' about Goonoo Goonoo is one of the same reasons most people choose to stay - the distance from the nearest towns. If you're on business, the station might not be the most practical choice and you might therefore like to find somewhere in Tamworth or Quirindi instead. However, do that knowing you'll miss out on comfortable, modern appointments, excellent food and wine, quiet rural vistas and a sky full of stars, all for the sake of about 20-25 minutes' drive...
    • Room is small and you can hear a lot of noises from outside.
    • Everything was great

Beautiful, peaceful location, it was wonderful to sit outside our room to listen to the birds and watch the sun set, then to wake to a glorious country sunrise. The room was clean and well-appointed, check in was easy and staff communicated well with us. We felt the quality of the accommodation was fantastic for what we paid, and dinner at the Glasshouse restaurant was absolutely phenomenal.

    Everything was great

Breakfast not supplied and unfortunately the on site restaurant was closed for public holiday.

A comfortable chair in the room, there was no chair at all in the room but 2 outside on the deck

    Yummy breakfast. Wonderful

    Dinner, weird choices. Expensive.

Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were superb. View was picturesque. Bed was very comfortable. Room had everything we needed and was a good price for the experience.

A little more natural lighting in our room would have been nice.

A beautiful spot, great views, comfortable bed and fabulously renovated room in the Shearer’s Quarters. We will be back soon.

Stunning country property, very well appointed, spacious, several points of interest, private, wonderful gardens and lovely restaurant. I stayed in the Shearer's quarters, perfect for 1-2 people. There are many other options to choose from (for more than 2 people). I come return to this region, I will choose this over any other accommodation on offer. Location lends itself to amazing sunrise and sunsets.

It’s the perfect mix of polished and relaxed—country charm with a touch of luxury, set on picture-perfect grounds.

We were just passing through on a road trip and only booked one night—but I’d happily come back and stay for a few more.

Everything was amazing from the location, staff, food and accommodation. Will definitely recommend and stay again if the opportunity arises.

    Private, comfortable, clean and quaint.

Shower took a while to warm up. Pity the TV was connected to the wifi...Should have Starlink.

Wonderful setting and interesting history. We had a meal at the restaurant which was outstanding.

We found shards of broken glass on the floor in the room and noted that the sink and bench top had stains. This detracted what was otherwise a lovely stay.

This place is so special, an oasis away from the rest of the world where you can really breathe! The accommodation is amazing and the grounds and surroundings are very special.. Our room was one of the old sheep shearing stations, traditional on the outside but inside.. wow! The beds are very comfortable with the highest quality linens.. Spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The Glasshouse restaurant is also fabulous with great food and service! Loved everything!

I wish we could have stayed longer!!

Location and landscape stunning but also loved how beautifully the property had been restored and utilized - just wonderful. Loved the restaurant - staff so good!

Nothing. Keep doing what you are doing!
