Abraham Lincoln Motel

This was a great Motel and was a great location to walk into Town to explore. The room was spacious for our Family of 5.

Comfortable and bed and linen, towels etc were clean.

Room carpets were dirty and the bathroom was very wet and feeling of mouldy. Also the bin in the bathroom ( the container ) was very dirty you wouldn't want to touch it !

What can we say? Booked in both directions. After long drives all we needed was rest. The beds were OK in #10 up and #9 back. We would normally check rooms before entering but our time was limited...our mistake! Both rooms need complete refurbishment, bathrooms poorly maintained and cleaned. Dirt and grime everywhere. Only safe & clean things were pre packed tea, coffee, etc. We did check the sheets before using. Towels thin but seemed clean. Everything else we avoided. We always take our own supplies and plenty of disinfectant sprays and wipes so touched nothing without first sterilising. We will return to our "room check" before agreeing to stay and walk away immediately we encounter this type of property in the future no matter what the cost...better to be safe and stay healthy. Booking.com reviews very misleading on this property so we will not as much trust in them in the future. Definitely return to doing much more research for future bookings. Very accommodating as our arrival time kept getting later and later. Kind staff knew we were travelling with kids and had a long day so they had a bottle of wine in our room for us. So thoughtful. Comfy beds, clean rooms and little packets of biscuits - always a winner with our kids!

There was a smell of sewage and they had unsuccessfully tried to disguise with spray. Once the place was opened up and left to air it was at least ok. The staff were aware but had not prepared us for this and were trying to do something about it. Being Easter they hadn’t classed this as an urgent!!!

Location was good for us

We stayed in No 3 needs a bit of a vacuum throughout & the shower looked used when we entered.

Staff were friendly and easy to find.

The motel was clean, spacious, and good value for money. The staff were friendly and courteous

We were “upgraded” to a more spacious room with an extra room with another bedroom which we didn’t need as there was only 2 of us).

The room was very dated, damaged and didn’t feel clean. For example, a large cream cushion had a food stain on it and the bathroom vanity had stains on it. The bathroom felt dirty and cupboards, drawers, walls, etc were worn and damaged. The pillow smelt off and while the room was non-smoking it smelt like smoke. It is not located near the centre of town (so no handy places to eat) but it was on the main highway so it was noisy.

Greeted when we arrived by a very pleasant young receptionist - friendly with a happy smile, not something you see enough of these days.

Our room was well equipped with everything we needed to prepare our breakfast and the hotel was close to the supermarket and takeaway food outlets for any other meals

The room and crockery and cutlery could have been cleaner. Bowls and cutlery were not clean There were stains down the vanity in the bathroom The cutlery sets were not complete. We had problems with the tv remote. After a while it just seemed to freeze up and had to turn off at power point. When turned on in the morning it worked properly again

I received a free bottle of wine on arrival which was great. My room was clean and comfortable and reception friendly.

It was a nice clean and convenient accomodation in Tamworth. The room was well equipped and larger than some

The only negative was an inconsiderate guest on the other side of my room (12) that had a TV going all night long keeping my wife and I awake. Despite getting up at around 3.00 am to knock on their door to request them to lower the volume, they didn't answer their door. I hope they were not dead as we left on daybreak when their TV was staying going !!!

Good location and very quiet considering we were on the highway

Air conditioner struggled to keep the room cool, no doubt due the very warm conditions outside

We were placed in a room at rear of property, which meant we had an extra block of motel units to buffer traffic noise from a very busy highway.Room was large and comfy, though a bit dated .. but we weren’t there for the decor.

Air conditioner was old and tired and probably requires a service or replacing. Had a stale water smell.It was 30c+ each of the 2 days we were there, so a/c ran almost permanently during our visit.
