Pros +
- We were able to eat at the Motel and it suited our daytime travels
- Location was great, beds were comfortable.
- The location was great, and easy to find at the end of a day of travel. Bath towels were great -not white! Bonus! A nice base to go for a walk on great paths hugging the highway. Roadhouse was just down the road and lovely bakery in the town.
Cons -
- Room was filthy and had a foul smell.Carpet was disgusting and filthy.
- The whole place needs lots of TLC... curtains in the rooms, carpets, general tidiness around the whole place.Restaurant wasn't open the night we were there, but we went to the local hotel and had a great meal.
- Something was leaking in the bathroom; the floor was constantly wet so it was a slipping hazard. The room had very basic provisions. There wasn't a plug for the sink to wash any dishes used, and no dish washing liquid or cloth provided. We purchased from the local store. No teaspoons for hot drinks. We did approach management for dinner plates (as only small plates were provided); a tea towel was provided then. I feel confident that they would have provided the other items if asked. Reception was closed when we needed those items.

It's a budget stay. The room seem clean. Airconditioning in main room worked well. Seperate room for kids in the family room which was good. Coffee and tea provided. The beds are okay and felt clean.
It had it down sides. The air-conditioning in the second room was loud and clunky. The shower was leaking all over the bathroom floor. The towels provided smelted like damp mould. It transferred onto your body. No wifi in the rooms.
Room was spacious and had plenty of storage. Bathroom was nice. TV worked well. Airconditioning was very good to have.
Beds were very uncomfortable. The matresses were very hard. Did not sleep well.
The room was a good size.
Unfortunately the restaurant and pool were closed although we were offered a food takeaway service.
The room was huge and the air conditioning was excellent (the overnight low was 31c). The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was a couch. Overall a good stay, I would stay again.
The TV did not work.
We had read many of the reviews on booking.com and were quite apprehensive about our stay at the Gawler Ranges Motel. However, we were pleasantly surprised by our Deluxe Queen Room at the rear of the motel - it was quiet and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Yes, the motel (and our room) certainly did need a dose of TLC but we would stay there again without hesitation. As a base for exploring the wonderful Wudinna area, we would highly recommend a Deluxe Queen Room.
Easy to schedule, quiet and clean place

Old style motel room with lots of space.
Restaurant was not operating due to freezer failure.
Table and chairs in room and another outside Room sizeGood size bench with microwaveSign about miceQuiet
Place is old and run down and dirty.Old open box of milk in the fridge !Box full of cigarette butts at the front door.Place stinks because other people have been smoking in the room.Everything about the place is simply sub standard. The advert on Booking.com is very misleading. The place dies not look anything like what is shown in the photos. What an utter disappointment.Ripped off of $145.00 for possibly the crappiest place I have ever stayed in!!!!!
Everything could have been better
Friendly and helpful staff. Pillow was the best I have had in a motel.
Shower head could be descaled to increase flow.
Parking at front door
Constantly running toilet, water all over floor from shower, no restaurant as shown on website as it was closed
We checked in & checked back out in under 15 minutes.
The room was old, carpets stained, bedding stained, curtains torn, the room smelled. In general this motel needs a complete refurbishment.
Owner / staff helpfull when a light globe needed to be replaced and to operate TV
The unit was basic , and overpriced at $ 135 per .night .
Spacious and comfortable
Dirty and dusty directly outside unit
The bathroom was fair to good. Cleaning was ok.
The bed made very badly with no top sheet and a smelly blanket. No lightbulb in main work area.Piggyback power points. Missing cutlery and no teatowl ## These feedbacks are only worth doing if you actually do something and give me feedback ##
Stayed one night en route east. On Highway 1. Easy to find. Pretty quiet. Usual motel facilities, incl. crockery and cutlery. Comfortable beds, good shower, good wifi. Curry suppers available. Short drive to town.
Budget rooms at the front are supposedly noiser than the deluxe rooms towards the back. Not sure how important this is. Overall, the highway seemed fairly quiet except for the occasional road trains ( but it was a long weekend). Rooms are OK but older style and may benefit from a deep clean. Skirting boards were pretty dusty. There was a warning about mice from the nearby wheatfields BUT we didn't see or hear any. There is also another hotel in town centre with rooms and food.
