Snowhaven

Well appointed motel in the center of town. Clean, big bed, big tv, cooking facilities, all you could want. Private parking space right outside. Was a remote check in but good communication by text and keys were left in room for us, so no problems.

Bit of traffic noise from trucks going past on the main road but seemed quiet through the night so not a biggie.

Location near the mountain and the stream out the back. The kitchenette was well appointed.

Getting the room cool enough to sleep. Opening the windows meant opening the curtain which meant the light from outside shone on the bed.

Location was good, middle of the village. Everything less than 5 minutes walk.Bed was comfortable, room a little on the small side.

Reception is covered by staff at another location.Buzzer at Snowhaven did not appear to work.

On the main road. Clean, well organized and furnished space. Close to restaurants.

The window opens to the main road so… privacy issues. You can close the curtain and completely block out natural light or leave it open and ppl can see in.

I stayed at Snowhaven, room 2, and it was perfect for my weekend stay, comfortable and had everything I needed. The staff I met at the accommodation, spa, and restaurant were all so sweet and professional, which made my stay even better.

I was a bit weirded out by the glass tinted door, not a big deal, just not my thing. Also, I wish the curtain could be adjusted halfway instead of only fully up or fully down.

Loved it, felt homely very welcoming staff! Very accessible and the location was situated was very Convenient. Would highly recommend and stay again

Convenient and close to town

It didn’t bother us but the motel is on a busy main highway and there is a bit of traffic noise. We couldn’t get the TV to turn on?

Excellent host communication and location! Very clean and great kitchenware. Nice view of Rapehu too.

It is a noisy road throughout the night making it the least comfortable couple of night sleep of the entire trip.You can also hear the next room (walking, talking and cabinets)Even though I got a more expensive due to the view, I wouldn’t stay again because of the disturbance.

There should be information on the room information sheet, as to what the Air Raid Siren means for foreign visitors.We were quite disturbed that it went off at 1.30am . There was no one to ask .We think this information is Essential to receive stress

We liked the location and ease of checking in and out.

There was mould in the bathroom but overall it was clean. I was a little uncomfortable with security (the door only had a button to push to lock and no other security measures).

Comfy beds. Good location.

Heat pump air filter fully clogged up. Hardly blowing hot air. Would be so easy to just service the heatpump once every 3 months...Shower kept going cold. It would be warm for 10 seconds then out of no where it turns to ice.

Location and its setup

Duvet was very dirty, it’s having too much stains on it and it’s in a very unhygienic condition.

Comfortable bed, lovely view of Mt Ruapahe.The light over the bed didn’t work, overhead lights very glary at night.

We think the place is overall okay.

While there is a detour of the main highway, we would heavily recommend not to book that location.The detour causes all cars from the highway to pass along 5m away from door & windows, which are not isolated. Since the beginning of the town is ~100m away from the place, most vehicles have not fully decelerated from their previously allowed 100 km/h.At night this will cause you to hear each truck for 15-20 seconds and cars for 7-10 seconds. Even past 11pm there were still 20-30 vehicles within a 5 minute span. Feel free to approximate the "quiet" seconds left.

Room was very small.Close to the main road. It was quite noisy.

Car parking space was gone, parked in the wheelchair space as we arrived late and were leaving early next morning. The cleaning of the room appeared not to have been completed but the bed was made. Lots of traffic noise from passing trucks.

Problems with the heat pump which the staff couldn’t resolve. Eventually managed to fix it ourselves Staff member was lovely and later found a plug in heater for us. No ordinary T bags only green or peppermint. No staff on site to resolve this. Luckily our friends in next room had some. Despite this we would happily stay again. Beds comfortable but cleaning could be better
