Good value.

It's was lovely across the board.

I like the kitchen very much and the shared facilities are very thoughtful especially the drying room for wet gears after a raining day

The sound proof is not good as it is already indicated in a notice that after 9pm no entertainment is allowed but our neighbor kept talking at very late night.

So comfortable and cozy, great location, lovely staff!

Very cozy, the common room was a great place to relax with a fireplace, books, and comfy couches.

Outstanding place to stay when hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (TAC). The motel was clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, comfortable bed. I had a corner room with a kitchenette which was very quiet. The hosts were wonderful and a wealth of information. Very friendly and great to talk with. Dutchy is also a driver that can take you to the TAC. Schedule the drop-off and pick-up with the motel. Reasonable price for transportation and so easy since you simply meet in the parking lot on the morning of your hike. It's a 10-15 walk from the train station to the motel, although Gillian was kind enough to drop me off at the train station the day I checked out. Definitely will stay here again if I return to National Park for some more hiking!

Our room was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. The shared bathroom facilities were also clean and quiet.

The breakfast offering was too expensive for us.

Noise carried easily through the walls in the lodge so didn't get a great sleep.

The responsiveness of John and Gillian, the owners, was incredible. Very helpful and reliable.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable facilities and room, decently stocked kitchen, great location for hiking. Calm and peaceful in the evenings.

Can be some noise, the walls are very thin so could hear the other rooms, some noise also from the transport to the crossing leaving in the morning though that's understandable.

Ground floor motel unit, warm & comfortable beds. Good for our one night stop between Wellington & Auckland for 3 family members.

Motel unit sleeps 3 but plates, cups etc only provided for 2! Helicopter landing pad next to our bathroom window!

Super friendly people who run the place! Clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast available to order. Easy to organize a shuttle from the property for the Crossing.

Where we stayed, the room was on the 2nd floor and the bathroom on the first floor. I always hate stairs in the middle of the night if you need to use the bathroom. Kitchen was also just a tad small.

Great staff so helpful!! Spa was a definite bonus!

Booked a double bed and a single got two singles.

Convenient location for Tangariro Alpine Crossing. Very clean rooms, very attentative staff. The one-bedroom apartment is spacious. There is a spa pool which is really good to relax in after the crossing.

Great location in National Park Track shuttles from the property Fantastically helpful staff. We changed our walking plans and Gillian and John couldn’t have been more helpful in arranging a pick up

Very calm, clean lodge :-) easy shuttle-service for the crossing and easy late-checkin.

We were a bit disappointed that we couldn‘t take the very early shuttle to Tongariro in case of good weather as promised earlier during the booking process. Still had a Great crossing and were thankful for some more sleep ;-)
