Pros +
- The layout of the hotel was great, I really liked the grassy area and picnic tables, the heater in the room was really good, and the staff were fantastic.
- clean cabin feel room with self contained kitchen and ensuite. Superb location walking distance to town centre and short 2 min drive to white water rafting, trout centre, national park walks. Swimming pool and jumping pillow for kids even though we travelled just a couple. Very quiet motel, even though it gets busy by the afternoon with caravans, cars everyone is very tired and goes to bed, no parties. Very relaxing to lay on grass under tree with a nice cup of tea.
- Traveled for work, on-site bar and restaurant which was ideal, the food exceeded my expectations for a small town restaurant - food was on-par if not better then some of the meals I have had in restaurants in the city. Great selection of TV channels and WIFI was fast - perfect for video calls and streaming. Beds were really comfortable, staff were helpful & rooms were clean - couldn't ask for much more
Cons -
- The walls were very thin and I could hear a lot from neighbouring rooms, and there was an old piece of soap left in the shower from a previous guest.
- A nice comfortable bed, I slept really well however my partner struggled to get a good night's sleep with the bed.
- The bathroom needs to have more rails and hooks. The shower floor while extremely clean, was very slippery. Could be an accident area.Maybe the bedhead should not be directly though the wall from the neighbours TV.

Easy arrival procedure. Quick and efficient.

Our stay at Parklands Motor Lodge was absolutely amazing. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect – peaceful and relaxing, yet close to town and local attractions. The staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.

Clean tidy warm well vented room
GOOD LOCATION, PARKING, FACILITIES FOR FAMILIES ETC. RESTAURANT ONSITE, QUITE GOOD. FAIRLY QUIET.
COULD HAVE BEEN CLEANER. SOME FAULTS.....BEDSIDE LIGHT SWITCH U/S, TOILET PAPER HOLDER FELL TO THE FLOOR. VERY NOISY BATHROOM FAN. WEAR AND TEAR.
The lady in the reception was very friendly and superbly helpful.
Just the path to the toilet was muddy. Hope they'll gonna put decent footpath from the cabins to the toilets.
Lovely place to stay. We got in late at night. The lighting at the restaurant and the exterior landscaping gave a good holiday feel.
Spa was available only during staffed hours.
The cabins are perfect for a family weekend doing the Tongariro Crossing. Nice and close the the shared facilities. Good condition.
Very good
Microwave hadn't been checked and a previous user had left food splattered inside it. Expensive for the grade of motel.
Clean comfy cabin close to kitchen and bathroom facilities
I wanted to book a second night, which I succeeded in doing, but received 16 emails about this in the course of it - not necessary and unclear
Tidy rooms, good size & value for moneyRestaurant onsite great
Amenities block quite run down, eg womens showers. Could use with a freshen upNo cutlery in kitchen, had to go back to unit to eatBouncy pillow was down when got there at 7ish, pool looked dirty and smaller pool wasnt filled up
Comfortable stay! I had a cabin with kitchenette and had only few cons - the coffee mugs provided with the room still had coffee stains still inside them. -as I was using the bathroom a man came out of the showers... He had been showering in there while I was in there... in broad daylight 9:30am ish.
Really easy to find and close enough to town that you could walk in. Compact enough that you wouldn’t have to haul ass from one side to get to the bathrooms etc.
Quite expensive for what it was, we had a cabin booked for two but it was very cramped inside. We stayed over the weekend and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned Saturday or Sunday, nor were the unwell and loo roll filled up etc.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable cabin, good position for exploring around.
Kitchen furnitures may be improved, even if this could depend on guests not so polite.
Location wonderful, very scenic, well laid out. Clean and tidy facilities.
- Placement of dump station was extremely close to unit. It was unpleasant early hours and in morning before check out to have people dumping waste while having my breakfast and packing my car. Uncomfortable for those pulling up also. Communicated to reception and feedback not well received. - 8am woman's bathrooms were being mopped and cleaned so I was unable to shower and had to leave while cleaning was in progress. Said good morning to lady cleaning and was ignored. Cleaning maybe more appropriate after 10am when customers have checked out.
The young lady that booked us in was great. Straight to the point, no picking around and her manner was awesome.
The bathrooms were being cleaned when everyone was ready to shower, which made it a little hard to get in there, so maybe a clean before 8am would be a better idea I think.
such a comfy and quiet little place to stay in, park for the kids and animals to look at.
Minimal hot water when there it a lot of people booked in. we were down for a rugby tournament, and it was raining, so we wanted to have a nice hot shower when we got back. But unfortunately the water was luke warm. Told to wait an hour if no one else in the rooms use it. . .
Don’t stay here.
This was a tiny box hut with no AC on a very hot day. The description of this room when booked did not match the reality of the room.
