Pros +
- Excellent location to relax and clomb Mt Kozi
- My room was peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was included, which was a great bonus. The balcony was lovely in the morning, perfect for tea with sunlight and the sound of the river.I really liked the table lamp with the touch switch. The bathroom had instant hot water as soon as you turned on the tap.The room was well equipped with an oil heater, fridge, microwave, tea, coffee, and milk capsules. The key-less entry system also felt secure and convenient.Overall, it was a more affordable stay compared to other places, and good value for money.
- Location was great, right across from the Leisure centre and next to chair lift. Rooms were basic, but served the purpose of our stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful and accommodating
Cons -
- We were going to join a fund raising project for Rare Cancer Australia. We were to start climbing Kozi at 7 am. Hotel breakfast opens at 7.30 and we asked for some packed food (at least) as there was no place to buy. However the staff was not flexible.
- My friends staying in another room experienced noise from children at night and couldn’t sleep until around midnight.Parking was a bit inconvenient, as it’s not within the hotel premises. It’s a public car park, and you park at your own risk. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom when we first entered the room. The “queen bed” was actually two single beds pushed together. Sleeping in the middle was uncomfortable because you can feel the gap, so I had to sleep on one side instead. The bin at the entrance area was always full.
- Bed was really hard and uncomfortable. Restaurant wasn't open first night we were there, but due to out of season not a log of restaurants were open in the village. Come prepared with food.

Good location, 10 min walk from the center of the village
No AC in the rooms, very tiny rooms, not very clean, shower head fell down the moment I tried to move it. No way to get ahold of them on the weekend. Tried calling on the morning of the arrival because of the bush fires in the area to check if it was still safe to arrive and no one answered. Called booking.com, they couldn't get ahold of them either. Very disappointing
Convenient location, helpful staff.
Not very clean
Great location, super helpful staff, tasty pizzas, great little chillout spots in the bar or guest lounge, can't ask for much more ? Brekky was boiled eggs, bread/toast, cereal, yoghurt, and fruit.. it was simple, but plenty to fuel a day on the hill.It was the cheapest place available and I honestly wasn't expecting much, but we had a great stay and will be back for sure ?
Nothing really. Bedside light globes were way too bright, that's about it. The building isn't overly soundproof but we were so cooked from riding most days it didn't matter I was happy with brekky, but bacon would have been a welcome addition ?
Good location, nice drinks area and library room.
Noise transfers are easy from the floor above.. Room has a heater that requires a long time to heat. Shower needs a curtain and the shower rose was stripped and did not stay up.
Good location
Breakfast was poor. Yoghurt ran out and staff had none available.
Breakfast - was complimentary and expecting just a "Continental Breakfast" I appreciated that there were boiled eggs and a coffee machine that made real cappuccinos. Location - was great for accessing the town centre and hikes.Room - was OK standard Motel room.
Bathroom - No door on the shower, thus water spray in the bathroom area.
Friendly staff. Breakfast included. Location.
Location, practically ON the snowfields. You pay for the location more than anything else.
Walls were really thin, some nights could hardly get to sleep because of noise from adjoining rooms. The only thing the kids' beds had to fill their doona cover was a thick padded fitted sheet (instead of an actual doona/duvet).Breakfast wasn't great. It seemed that regardless of the time we arrived, the scrambled eggs were perpetually the last dregs left in the tray. The bacon looked as though it had never at any point made contact with a cooking surface, and if cooked at all it was just through the heat in the bainmarie.
Location is great and room was clean. Bed was comfy and outdoors the mountain biking is amazing
as it was off season very limited staff and not many options for food and breakfast were average
breakfast. was. great…..needs. a. new. bed. n. table..in. room. but. overall. value. was. great. thank. you.
bed. ….tar
The bed was comfy. The staff were nice but seemed run off their feet.
Very small family room, not much room for luggage, bathroom was mouldy, breakfast included was very minimal, it was out of the village, no lift so had to walk luggage up flights of stairs
great location, and breakfast includes eggs and toast, maybe need to add sausages or bacon, but overall satisfied. Fills you up for long day of adventure.
Clean, comfortable and well priced.
Breakfast was good but coffee machine was hopeless
Always a great stay at The River Inn. Special thanks to the Manager Tom who was very accommodating with an early check in. Also let us know when we left a couple of bottles of wine behind so we could collect on our return journey.
staff were very kind, particularly bearded guy.
weird smell in lobby area but did not affect rooms.
Cheap and cheerful. You don't come to thredo to sit around in your room so it served its purpose perfectly. Dated decor, not fancy facilities but perfect all the same. Value for money, great staff and very clean rooms. We were very impressed with breakfast being included. Scrambles eggs, toast, spreads, cereals with a selection of milks, yoghurt fruit, juices, tea and coffee it was great!
Dated decor and the bathroom really needed updating/replacing but really everything was nice and clean and served it's purpose for the little amount of time spent in a room when your there.
Nothing - it needs serious attention. Maybe the location. That’s it
It stunk like a toilet - the entire place. They use disgusting toilet air fresheners everywhere. It is tired and needs a serious renovation. The tap in our rooms basin was too big for the ridiculously small basin and flowed all over the floor when you turned it on. The curtain rail is poorly installed and falls off the wall when you open / close the curtains. The breakfast was average to say the least and coffee machine wasn’t working. Will never go back.
