Seafront Hotel Kangaroo Island

I loved this hotel! I ended up checking in late and the front office left me a note telling me how to access my room. It was so helpful that they were flexible with my check-in. The room was perfect and clean--I loved the lotions and shampoos.

Perfect location in Penneshaw. We had Villa 19, really spacious and fully decked out with all necessities. Walking distance to beach and a few steps from 2 good cafes and an IGA

Was all good. Prefer a better hair dryer but a not thing

Location was perfect as we were taking the early ferry. It was also good for dinner the night prior with an easy walk to the Penneshaw hotel.

The floor was a little dirty (based on the condition of our socks) otherwise it was a lovely stay.

Right off the ferry and a short walk to the pub for meals, the penguin tours, shops etc. Clean, well facilitated rooms with a lovely outlook over the ocean. Friendly, helpful staff, thankyou. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was nice and the staff was kind

The room was dirty, the lights were very dim. The bed was not comfortable for me and gave me back issues but this is not something that is a big issue. The main problem was the dirt in the room

5-min from ferry port… they assisted in getting ferry tix at a discount

Very poor internet

Luggage storage on arrival when rooms not available. Very close to ferry terminal and ample car parking available.

No microwave in the unit - yet some cooking equipment provided???

Great location, clean & very spacious facility. Comfortable bed and the separate TV & meal preparation area was a bonus.

Wonderful ocean views, close to ferry and pub. Great starting point to explore KI. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Garden villa was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Really quiet setting. Great place for a short stay on KI. Close to ferry terminal. Nice cafes nearby and Penneshaw pub has great meals! Sunset views are beautiful!

Location and the view

Just a little observation, the hooks on the wall were way too high for the average person. I'm 170cms and they were high for me to reach.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice available and eggs cooked to order.Breakfast venue had a lovely sea view and outside seating as well as inside. Hotel doesn’t have a restaurant/ cafe for snacks or dinner but there are places nearby to eat and a well stocked supermarket nearby too.Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.Location is perfect for short stays as it’s close to the ferry terminal with lovely sea views.Ideal for families as it has mini golf and a swimming pool.

Room cleanliness and facilities average.Our garden Villa patio had an ashtray full of cigarette butts and a dirty table that hadn’t been cleaned and the room was very dark. The Sorrento room was ok but smelt a bit of drains and only had a communal balcony off a separate door in the hallway . They do provide tea/ coffee facilities however and an iron and hairdryer in rooms plus a fridge which is useful.Probably worth upgrading to the Seaview rooms for a balcony and view.Hotel was full when we visited so we could only get a garden villa and a Sorrento room.Would have liked a communal lounge and a bar area to sit and relax in.

We were upstairs heavy cases. Be great for a lift to help with this. Staff helped but it an area I hope they can address for older folk and when you have to carry things upstairs. Villas look great they are downstairs.

Blue feet after using the pool, but there was a warning sign.

We took our car with us to Kangaroo Island on the Sealink Ferry, the hotel was within minutes of the ferry terminal, it had ample car parking available in front and beside the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor only accessible via a staircase. The Hotel and our room looked out over the sea/ocean. The room was clean, and tidy and our breakfast was lovely on both days at "The Kiosk" downstairs. We had dinner at the Penneshaw Pub on both days as it was only a short walk from the hotel.

Rooms are a bit dated but ok. Lack of nigh time meal options in Penneshaw, though that is not the fault of the hotel.

Room 18 was lovely and spacious, bed was comfy, couch was huge and relaxing. Kitchen was handy too. Laundry on site for free, pool and mini golf too. Supermarket just out the back and bottlo just up the street.
