Amazing location, walking distance to everything in Franz Josef, easy parking, friendly staff.

We stayed next to a group of young travelers who were pretty loud, and beds weren't very comfortable, the Doona felt spikey at times making sleeping a bit hard.

Glow Worm Accommodation offers a basic hostel style option for lodging in Franz Josef. The staff was exceptionally professional with outstanding hospitality and communication. They provide a whiteboard for coordinating rides as well as free popcorn and soup. Any issues that arise are addressed promptly. The location is very convenient to points of interest and transportation.

The shared bathroom facilities had an awkward and cramped layout that was not conducive to privacy or comfort. The bathroom areas were cleaned periodically but in between times were sometimes messy, as can happen with shared facilities. Smoking is allowed in the primary outdoor seating area which is also adjacent to the entrance of the main building that contains the reception desk, lounge, and kitchen; it would be preferable for a designated smoking area to be located away from the areas that need to be accessed by all guests.

For being a hostel, it was very accommodating and the room was better than expected. Nice property right where you want to be to enjoy the area. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the hot tub was a great added benefit.

The heater in our room (12) didn’t work. We didn’t need it anyway, and I forgot to tell Benjamin the owner.

Free popcorn, well stocked kitchen, free hot tub, yummy free soup, big enough room with kitchenet. The whole stay was wonderful. And the whole thing was really cheap as well.

This accomodation is in a great spot to visit Franz Josef Glacier and surrounding areas.

The room was very small and the showerhead very low - my partner who is 1.87m had to shower on his knees!

Located right in the township, which is close to many good walks. The lady sitting in the reception was extremely helpful and nice. She pointed out various walks we can take and also helped us out with various small requests like sugar sachets and all. The veggie soup was brilliant

The bathroom is a bit small and the shower is tricky to operate and fairly low in height. So, there were ants in the room. But for a hostel, this is still one of the best ones I have seen, just difficult to justify this for the price. In frank josef, what I saw was that things like booking.com/get your guide are not as good as directly contacting the property , so maybe that's the solution

The room had a kitchenette and private bathroom. (Crucial as the main kitchen had only 1 microwave and 2 really small fridges for the ENTIRE PLACE.)Soup was nice. Lovley decor.

Kitchen had only 1 microwave, 2 small fridge. 1 working oven. Trash was left full 2 whole days.Not sure they clean the hot tub.The whole bunk bed was shifting and crackling with every tuss and turn of the guy above me.

Four people room with dedicated shower/toilet, fridge, and a few other things. Super friendly and helpful staff. Many "extras": soup at 6pm, popcorn all day, hot tub.

The hot tub was such a bonus!!! Well equipped kitchen. Helpful staff. Enjoyed interacting with the other guests. We had the family room and it was nice to have the kitchenette :)

In our room, the wifi was unreliable. The hot tub was fantastic, but closed at 7:30.

Very nice place to stay, rooms are good, kitchen is very well equipped, staff are welcoming and helpful and location is great to explore the glaciers

The common area of the hostel was lovely and people were using it which gave it a nice atmosphere. They provide free popcorn and free veggie soup at 6pm each day which is awesome! The rooms were basic but clean and warm. Bathroom/showers weren't shared between too many people. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Sebastian was a really friendly host, I highly recommend to stay here.It was clean.

The room was tidy and warm and the kids loved the popcorn maker in the reception. The spa was also very nice and the free soup was a lovely bonus. The shared lounge and kitchen are comfy and lots of games and puzzles to play with. It was a really lovely place to stay and nice and close to everything.

Good vibe with a mix of couples/families/backpackers. Free soup in the evening encouraged people to come to the communal room & socialise.

Parking on site was tight but plenty of parking on the street.

Staff were friendly and welcoming . Close to all activities. Hot tub was lovely. Popcorn and soup available to guests was great. Well done! Loved this place.

quaint quirky. Cross between a motel and upmarket backpackers with everything you need. Antiques from last century in all rooms with old pictures in bark frames. Very compact rooms. owner on site and great guy. Perfect location

OWNER is excellent. An excellent kitchen area and resting area for guests. Also, free pop corns!

Our toilet was ensuite - pretty cram

The accommodation as expected was basic. I had my own room so was pleasantly surprised to see a microwave and kettle in the room (mini kitchenette ). The soup and popcorn was delicious.

The owner was supper friendly and very helpful. Made you feel very welcome. The free soup was so tasty. Slept so well.

Wi-Fi in room wasn’t great, but stepped outside was fine.
