Franz Josef Oasis

Very clean room and bath room. Excellent staff. Quiet and nice surrounding.

No big negative at all. Just a little far from town so you do need a car to get there.

Convenient access to Franz Josef. Nice garden view. Has a simple buffet breakfast.

Not much charm, but seems consistent with other hotels in this area.

Minimal breakfast with very few choices.The location is not as good, a 15-minute drive to the city center where the attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores are.

The hostess Angela was extremely accommodating and very helpful. The facilities themselves were clean, spacious and a good breakfast was provided.

It was quite far out of town. It would be helpful before booking to let folks know it is out of town. We weren't sure where it was and neither did most of shopkeepers in town so it took us a bit to find it.

Angela at the receptionist desk was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. Very helpful with the local area and with dinner suggestions. The property was recently upgraded and the rooms very clean and nice. Laundry machine available for us outdoors folks.

Coffee needs to be stronger.

Perfect for us. The place looked as if it was just opened. Everything was clean and tidy and smelling fresh. Breakfast was nice. We liked the fact that for a small fee there was a washing machine and a dryer available.

Very close to main road but beautiful scenery around the property

Rooms were using sliding door and a lot of flies were getting in every time we open the door . Breakfast was particularly pathetic. No drinking water in hotel for night and during breakfast

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility is relatively new and well maintained. It is located on a rural compound, quiet but easy to access from highway. The room is spacious and clean. It was also convenient to have breakfast included.

I cannot rate the hosts of the OASIS HOTEL enough,after travelling to Fans Joseph,I could not beleive there was no taxi servce in the town however my hosts were so accomadting I was picked up from the FransJoseph township to the OASIS HOTEL,and after spending just 1 stay at the above hotel again driven to FransJoseph to continue my trip by the staff at the Oasis Hotel.I wish the owners continue to show what good care for their guests and what hospitality means in such a beautiful country that New Zealand is,Regards and best wishes to all from Paul T

Wonderful 2-night stay in a beautiful location, just 3 minutes north of Franz-Josef. Impeccably maintained property, like new, in a beautiful setting - wide open grassy land with large pond and ducks, large outdoor deck with seating to relax in the sun, large contemporary rooms, large comfy bed, desk and chairs, wall fireplace, tv, wifi, beautiful private bath, and an outside spa to boot. Large dining area for breakfast, with coffee, tea, milk, eggs, ham, toast, bread, cereals, yogurt, juices, etc. Angela, the hostess, is the sweetest!!! And so helpful and attentive! She makes you feel like a friend for life! And all the other staff are so friendly and helpful as well. By far, my favorite stay in all of New Zealand.Dinner twice at Blue Ice restaurant in town. Great food, and a 10% discount for staying at Franz-Josef Oasis Hotel.

I didn't like leaving!

The rooms were very cosy and the amenities provided were nice. The fireplace in the room was a great comfort as the weather was very chilly during our stay. We also enjoyed meeting Kona (Angela's dog) and his bunny friend who were very warm and friendly.

We arrived quite late due to traffic and were still met by someone at reception to give us a full meet & greet and gave us really helpful advice on the local area for our stay. We were able to easily park for free right outside our room which is always helpful after a long journey. We loved the fireplace in the bedroom and the room was a great size! The complimentary breakfast was also a lovely addition to our stay. A great location to the town to visit Franz Josef and take part in any tourist activities. We said we wished we had an extra night there!
