Alpine Glacier Motel

Walkable distance to nearby shops and restaurants. We even managed see glow worm in a nearby walking trail at night. Washing machine and drier was efficient.

the roominess and openness. and when i opened my door the glacier mountain was there! was easily walkable to downtown for a few groceries and dinner. We were welcomed in to our hotel by the nicest gentleman.

Mattresses were poor quality that got shoulder pain

Our room was large with plenty of seating at both a dining table and in the living space. We had a handicapped accessible room so the bathroom was room with a roll-in shower. You can see the mountains looking out the door over the parking lot, but the view from the room was in the other direction over buildings. It's only a very short walk to the popular Alice May restaurant in town.

As other reviews have stated, the parking is a bit of a joke. If everyone staying at the hotel drives a mini Cooper, then it's fine. Otherwise, there is very little room to negotiate the driveway with everyone's vehicles sticking out well beyond their mini spaces.

Very clean, comfortable, and walking distance from all conveniences. Great stay!

Location, very clean , courteous staff

Modern, clean room. We booked a queen which is a smaller room but all they had available. It was a very good value. We were only there for one night to see the glacier and visit the west coast wildlife center. So it was perfect for us. Service is very efficient and we were able to check in early which was wonderful. They give you 10% off at Blue Ice which was a wonderful dinner.

Queen room is small if u r going to hang out in your room. We did not do not an issue.

Friendly and helpful staff, large clean rooms, very comfortable beds, appreciated the continental breakfast in room!

Everything was great!

Good location. Clean. Comfortable. Nice bathrooms. Well maintained. Had everything we needed. Staff were accommodating and provided us with extra provisions when we asked for it. The Blue Ice Restaurant nearby is well worth a visit.

The room had a vaulted ceiling which made it feel more spacious. It was in really good condition. Provided nice amenities including a coffee presser and soaps, shampoos, etc. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We would have stayed here longer it was such a nice place. Highly recommend. Walking distance to most things.

The town itself is very small and had limited grocery supplies.

Not a big issue, but the shower is not enclosed, so the water can spill over onto the bathroom floor.

The only place that demands cleaning and drying and placing back of your all dishes in their place or there will be a fine!Water pressure law.

Surprisingly well equipped kitchen, heaters and fans in the bedrooms, very comfortable beds, great location, very quiet.

The rooms were basic but spotless and spacious. When we arrived the staff and turned the heaters on, so the rooms were warm and toasty. It was such a lovely touch.

The couch was getting tired, but that is being very picky.

The accommodation was well located in Franz Josef and was central to all attractions. The staff were professional, courteous and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alpine Glacier Motel and would absolutely recommend it to fellow travelers

The car parking area was a little bit cramped and awkward to access.

We were in a family room - no space to sit other than on your bed

Stay 2 nights here. We arrived at the motel quite late and they prepare the key already in front of our room for late check in. Location is perfect. You can just walk to the centre. But it is just small city anyway. Restaurant is nearby. Supermarket also near too, but note they are close at 7pm. Petrol station also just next to the motel. We love our room! Just nice they provide everthing. Small kitchen to cook your food was perfect for us. They also have laundry facility with additional cost. The receptionist also friendly.

Just small issue when we were there, there's road work closure and affected the water supply to most of the area i am sure. After 1-2 hours, then back to normal :)

The decor was nice and the shower was great. It was lovely and clean and had a well equipped kitchen.

The armchairs were in the wrong place to see TV and there was a note saying don't move the furniture. It also said wash all dishes and put everything back how it was or we'll charge $25! Basically we were scared to touch anything and the dishcloth was wet so I'm guessing someone also used it then put it back exactly where it was. The beds were terrible and the single was in no way suited to an adult. The sheets were also terribly wrinkled and we questioned whether someone had slept there and the bed wasn't changed but concluded it was just poorly made.
