Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier

Location was decent

Rooms are extremely old, bed is barely hanging on by a thread and needs to be replaced badly. Carpet desperately needs to be replaced and smells awful. No air conditioning. Sink was leaking all over counter. Walls filled with dust. Duvet had dark spots

Conveniently located for visiting the glaciers.

TV choices are a little limited. The restaurant there is a bit overpriced.

The mattress was very old. I sat on the edge of the bed and rolled into the middle. Definitely not good for 2 people to sleep on. We had 2 beds and both mattress were very ¿broken in¿.

The toppers on the two bed seemed peaked in the middle Very small demerit We enjoyed afternoon tea on our outdoor balcony very much

Room was old and tired looking. We were in an old section beside a busy road. It was noisy at night. Rooms not air conditioned. Bathroom was so tiny. No chairs outside, patio or seating. We sat on the concrete stairs in the evening overlooking the road. No view whatsoever

Way Over priced for the quality of the property. Leaking water under sink- glass door shower out of alignment so would not shut,Properly.

No A/C so you really need to install screens for the sliding doors! Essential to avoid the biting sandflies.

The staff was nice, the dining area was nice Especially Beth at the front was always pleasant! Laundry was good too

The floors of the room were lumpy, the bed was lumpy. There were some mysterious stains on the carpet.

I loved the hospitality by hotel manager Akash Antil. He provided suggestions and also let us feel like at home. He also organised a surprise cake for my son’s birthday which is really appreciable.

The breakfast was great—fresh, filling, and a perfect start to the day. The view of the glaciers from our bedroom was absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of our stay.The location was very convenient, just a few minutes away from restaurants/shops and, helipads and tour centres.

The room itself was quite basic and felt a bit dated, especially considering the price. Unfortunately, the cleaning left much to be desired—there were noticeable hairs left behind after cleaning, and instead of conditioner, a body lotion was placed in the shower area. They did replace it after I had already used it on my hair and were apologetic about the mix-up.Additionally, the glass we used for our vitamin C drink wasn’t properly replaced—just rinsed in the sink, as the scent was still noticeable.Another concern was at check-in: they asked for my card’s CVV, which felt unusual and unnecessary, especially since I was able to tap my card for payment.
