Pros +
- Great views - large bedroom, comfy bed
- Everything room size , food (restaurant) , spa and spa bath
- Great roomy suite! Loved the outdoor hot tub! Cookies and cocoa, tea coffee made a great snack. Very comfortable bed.
Cons -
- The whole place is dated! room not staged well - not enough furniture, the curtains were ripped… everything is just old, and it’s like the owners are trying to draw blood from a stone - charging a high price to stay to stay in a 5 star hotel, but not reinvesting in the property for the consumer
- Would like lower prices
- Elevator (just one floor) was pretty dated/ slow

Gravel road
Large size of room, personal spa on deck, double shower. Big spa bath looked good too but didn't get to try it.
There was an envelope left with key as we checked in after 5 & that was fine, but the directions to the room weren't very good. They were generic on how to get to all of them so we took the long route lol.
Beautiful property with excellent in room facilities and a great view of farmland and mountains
We wanted to use the spa facilities but they were fully booked for two days. It would be nice to warn people. Also there are no thermal pools on the property. It is a short drive though to the amazing public facility in the town.
Beautiful and spacious room, huge bed and lovely view.
Location is really secluded and lovely, but it wasn't immediately clear from the map that the Lodge is about 3km up a gravel/unpaved road. Just something to be aware of if you're in a rental or not used to rural driving.
Lovely large size bedroom/ living room. Spa pool on the deck.
Attention to the small details one would expect of a property in this price range. Some things were looking a little tired.
Private outdoor spa pool, gas fire in room.
Spa area outside had black mould on concrete around the spa and dividing walls. Could use some water blasting and cleaning. There was ripped wallpaper in the room that hadn't been replaced/fixed. Also paint chipping on the ceiling in the bathroom.I thought the refills containers in the bathroom was a great idea but having a shampoo/conditioner combined is budget. Also, the pumps don't work well for body wash, shampoo/conditioner. Having written on them with a vivid also was a bit tacky. The double shower was quite small in comparison to the huge spa bath and probably unnecessary. The description here specified a coffee machine in the room; only instant coffee was provided and at the cost of staying in a deluxe spa suite I think instant coffee is again a budget option. Overall, it was a private, quiet stay but the whole place seems to be lacking some TLC and also lacking in atmosphere. The breakfast was just ok - also lacking anything special. Something to note the spa doesn't offer couples massage so spending that money in the spa in the Hanmer hot pools complex is a better option. The view from the dining room and our suite was probably the nicest part of the stay.
Loved the spa, the bed, the bathroom, the size of the room. The private balcony. The view from the spa bath. 10/10
Nothing really... bigger tv. But that's clutching.
Bed and breakfast
Garden needed some attention.Views not made the most of.Matt’s and fixtures not working or needed attention.
This was a short drive out of Hanmer Springs but worth it for the quiet. Such a tranquil place with wonderful views from each room
Room are wonderfully spacious - the fire place and sofa a wonderful place to curl up with a book . All balcony’s create a private space to hang out and enjoy the view
The facilities and spa suite were great we as a couple really enjoyed it as it was clean and with very nice view
Restaurant and service was very slow, which took 1 hour for our food to come out and wasn't the biggest fan of the meals ? and was abit expensive.
Beautiful, with lovely big rooms and gorgeous views. Loved the spa pool and spa bath
Slightly annoying being just out of town but plenty of peace and quiet
Beautiful and spacious suit, a very comfortable bed, and a perfect place to unwind on a rainy day
The driveway and car park was very dark afterbirth fall, making it difficult to know where to park
Luxurious, large room, everything you needed, loved the outside hot tub as well.
Large rooms
Mismatched coloured roof lights, patches in walls they never even painted, bathtub spa function not working, bathtub facet broken and loose, bathroom robes were to small, dinners were undersized for the price and I ordered a bruschetta at the cost of $20 and they gave me cooked capsicum and onion on garlic bread with cheese on top. Tasted like a microwave pizza, not worth the price in my personal opinion
Lovely hotel in beautiful countryside, we had an outside spa suite which was amazing and the room was huge. Great facilities and good breakfast. Hanmer Springs is an amazing Alpine village with so many cafes, lovely walks and amazing views
The hotel is at the top of a hill only accessible via a winding gravel road, there's nothing else around unless you drive 15 minutes into Hanmer Springs town centre, so ideal if your looking for a very quiet getaway. Given it's 5 star rating and considering it was Easter holidays it seemed like they were understaffed as service could have been better
Loved the size of the room, bed was super comfortable, lush bathroom, spa pool on patio looking at the stunning view
Needs a bit of a maintenance overhaul, patch in bathroom that was plastered and not painted, jets on spa bath didn’t work, cob webs on outside or some windows, a little tatty around some parts. Bar being open to buy a drink and have a social area we would have enjoyed. Overall we loved our stay and were very comfortable, just a few things that could make it all even better!!!!
The beautiful mountain views .
The service was very poor and restaurant food not only very overpriced for what it was , but lacked any atmosphere . It appeared very understaffed and the staff either lacked training or care for their job . Throughout our stay we felt like we had to ask for very basic requests that should've come with staying at a property that was rated so highly and we paid so much for.
