- Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, great host.
- This year, like so many other guests, we returned to Cambridge House, Kazu, Thana & Sora. We love their passion for finding joy in nature and food, & their sense of humour too. The degustation dinner was exceptional- as was the breakfast. 2024 will have us dreaming of those dishes. What they are doing there is art, & they're always evolving and exploring how to enhance a full sensory experience. We love what they do and who they are ♡
- We especially enjoyed the special degustation meal and fabulous Japanese breakfast. We felt very looked after at Cambridge House, the service was wonderful and we felt like we had stepped into another world.

The hosts were amazing - helping with bookings and providing an amazing Japanese style breakfast which would have to be one of the best I’ve ever enjoyed. The property was beautifully presented and the hosts encouraged to share the highlights of their property.
We only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer!
We had an exceptional stay here. The Japanese breakfasts were very good and the additional tasting menu with paired wine and sake was truly memorable. Afternoon tea by the river was also a treat. Thana and Kaz were also perfect hosts. We will definitely be coming back!
Thana and Chef Kaz made our stay at Cambridge House B&B so memorable and enjoyable. They could not do enough for us. The accommodation is lovely and very comfortable. Chef Kaz is a master and his food is amazing. I highly recommend this special experience to everyone.
Period charm, gardens, gracious hospitality. Comfortable.
Wanted to stay longer !
Food is the star of the show at Cambridge House. With the Japanese influenced breakfast that changes daily to the optional Japanese degustation menu at night, the food is truly excellent. The old house has loads of character and the old garden with creek at the bottom make it a quiet haven to relax in.
The WiFi was a bit weak but that was about the only downside. The rest of the property was comfy and relaxed.
We felt like we were in a Miyazaki film for our NYE/new year's day stay. It was made magical by the incredible food and service from Thana and Chef Kaz. And Princess Sora! Enjoy the degustation & indulge in sake - you will not regret it. Thank you so much!! I'm craving many great foods now... Emma & Zin
Hospitality and welcome was so beautiful but our take away was the food uniqueness and culinary excellence that we've never experienced before. It is likely that unless we return to Cambridge House we'll never experience this exceptional and unique style of cooking again.Thana and Kaz are so professional with their service and knowledge of all facets of food and local area and deliver an outstanding service that you'll remember until you can't ?
Nothing!!!
More than met our expectations. Amazing hospitality, with exceptional attention to detail. Beautiful location on the river for some platypus spotting.Thank you for making the birthday celebrations special. Highly recommend adding in the tasting menu and beverage pairing, we loved every dish and drink paired.Well looked after and can't wait to tell our friends, as we will be neighbours in the new year ?
Cambridge House is called a Breakfast and Bed and rightly so! The three breakfasts we enjoyed there were exceptional - the food and presentation were outstanding. The chef explaining the many varied dishes enhanced our experience.
The hosts were amazing, nothing too much trouble, ensuring we had everything we needed so we could relax. We requested the degustation menu and it was amazing. So well planned, including all locally sourced fresh seasonal produce. The quality of the food was exceptional, exceeded all our expectations. We were a party of 8 and we all loved the experience and our stay.
Beautiful house, lovely garden absolutely fantastic food! worth every cent ill definitely be going back, made me feel like a princess! Kaz and Thana are the best!
This would have to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. Our room was just beautiful and Thana, our host, made us feel so welcome and there were lots of little touches that also made us feel welcome. We decided to do the degustation dinner here, and it was a truly memorable occasion. The food was fresh and superbly cooked by Kaz, who was our co-host and also happens to be a former executive chef. The breakfasts here are an absolute delight and enough to keep you going all day. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a platypus in the creek at the bottom of their garden, which Thana keeps an eye on and will let you know when it appears. As hosts, Thana and Kaz excel in all they do. I will be recommending Cambridge House to all my family and friends.
Exceptional hosts who made us feel at home. A welcome drink, Japanese breakfast with salmon cooked over the fire made
Thana was an amazing hostess and welcomed us warmly with a lovely afternoon tea. The room was warm and cosy and very comfortable, and our Japanese breakfast was delicious with some changes made to suit our dietary requirements.
Thana and her family were so welcoming and could not do enough for us including, insisting on waving us goodbye in the rain! Chef Kazumasa prepared an amazing breakfast which amongst other wonderful dishes, included the most delicious salmon I have ever eaten. The ambience of the lounge room was comfortable and welcoming and we enjoyed a relaxing evening listening to music while perusing a collection of books, including a fabulous personal collection of recipe books and culinary references - the only thing missing was an open fire, which was made up for by the blazing logs in the dining room the next morning! We would love to return and sample more of chef Kazumasa's food, although the degustation was a little out of the range of what we wished to pay for a couple. If a smaller menu was on offer or if cooking classes were ever held, I would be there in a flash!!! Would absolutely recommend and will return.
My husband is 6'3 and he was challenged by the low raked ceilings in the room and bathroom.
We booked this as a foodie destination on our Tasmanian holiday. Apart from the gracious hospitality, lovely rooms with thoughtful touches everywhere, the degustation Japanese menu was superb. We opted for the matching sakes and wines - took a deep breath as it added to the overall expense but we were so glad we went for the full experience. Everything was delicious, super fresh and exquisitely presented. The Japanese breakfast the following morning was equally up to the very high standard. Chef Kazumasa, his delightful wife Thana are wonderful hosts. Congratulations - your lifestyle change is bringing something very special to this little corner of the world in southern Tasmania. I'm a bit concerned about writing this rave review as the secret may get out and they may be booked out in the future.
Only thing we didn't enjoy so much was the coffee. Used to expresso style now but others may enjoy. A teeny issue for an overall superb experience.
This little B&B in Geeveston is wonderful. It's now run by a generous Japanese couple who provide a lovely Japanese influenced experience - in terms of hospitality and food. The Japanese breakfast and the (optional dinner experience) were an unexpected surprise. Located in a beautiful old house with nice gardens and creek (with resident platypus), it offers a peaceful retreat. Handy to some lovely scenic drives and a short walk to the town.
We had a smallish twin room - that was comfortable with very small en-suite. This particular room gets the afternoon sun and gets quite stuffy. We were there in mid-March and it was ok, but would be uncomfortable in mid-summer (no Air-con). The Japanese influenced breakfast may not be to all tastes - so maybe check when you book if you prefer a more traditional cooked breakfast. However, we highly recommend the Japanese breakfast. These are just comments for others booking - it did not detract from our wonderful experience.
