    Pros +

    • Everything was lovely. Decor and history along with museum of alumni was fascinating and unexpected.
    • Employees are wonderful. Clean, stately, great location for visiting.
    • Location, staff, public areas

    Cons -

    • Room was musty, dirty and workmanship pretty poor
    • Nothing I did not like
    • The parking is $20 daily which is a complete rip off to me. I didn’t know they charged for parking. The bathroom shower curtain needed to be washed. While the stay was decent wasn’t what I expected of a 4 star hotel. Just okay.

The decor and rooms are beautiful! The proximity to campus and Franklin Street can’t be beat!

Well maintained and charming old hotel. Staff very helpful. Rooms are very small but well decorated and comfortable.

    Nothing I did not like

I liked the bed- it was very comfortable. I also felt safe. Main area where there are hospitals near by and it just felt comfortable. The room was pretty clean aside from the bathroom shower curtain. Looked like mold on the bottom.

The parking is $20 daily which is a complete rip off to me. I didn’t know they charged for parking. The bathroom shower curtain needed to be washed. While the stay was decent wasn’t what I expected of a 4 star hotel. Just okay.

Just a cool place to be. The decor was very classic and relaxing.

For a hotel of this caliber, I would have expected better coffee, a nicer tv, and just generally more amenities than were available. I had to call for a second robe when it was clear there would be two people staying in our room.

    8Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 8-6-2020

Everyone was very helpful. The room was just what they advertised. The food in the restaurant was very good.

The food in the dining room was a little expensive. Upon checkout I asked at the desk for my bill to be emailed to me and as of now have not received it. Not good customer service.

Charming historic hotel! Very clean. Elegant lobby and common areas. Beautiful place. Safe location. Convenient free parking.

Close to medical center. Enjoyed the Baby Grand piano and playing it

Some of the amenities were closed. Since restaurant and bar were closed would have been nice to have individually wrapped cookies or paxtry

Love the beautiful Inn, the history, and the location.

The blanket was very thin, almost just another sheet and there were no extra blankets in the room.

Clean, beautiful, great staff and location

    10CalvinPosted on: 7-8-2020

The place was clean and the staff was very helpful. When I ask for additional services, I was easily accommodated. The staff gave me a list and recommendations on where to eat.

    The size of the elevator.

    10SherylPosted on: 6-21-2020

The staff was very kind and attentive. They were accommodating to our needs!

Our only criticism is we wish we had a microwave to warm up leftovers.

    10JennaPosted on: 5-27-2020

This hotel was full of historic charm, and beautifully appointed. The staff did a great job managing with COVID adjustments. The room was small-- as is common with historic hotels-- but very comfortable, and the public areas of the hotel were lovely.

The location and history. We stayed here 29 years ago when our son graduated from UNC and returned to visit our grandson who is now attending. The hotel has only gotten better.

    Maybe the $18.00 parking fee.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 12-7-2019

Impeccably clean. Gorgeous architecture and decor. Best hotel in Chapel Hill.

    10CandacePosted on: 11-13-2019

Conveniently located to UNC and downtown Chapel Hill.

Did not know about the parking fee until check in, but still worth it for the location and proximity to all we needed.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 9-4-2019

Beautiful atmosphere, easy check in, clean room, full of history!

    Room service ended early.
