Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach

Clean bathrooms and rooms.

Staff was not friendly. Wanted tips. English speaking was hard to come by. Front door men dont take your bags. The front desk man did not offer to take our bags while we waited for our room to be ready.

Everything was wonderful! The entire staff especially the front desk and servers in the restaurant were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. Pool area was fantastic as well servers around the pool friendly and always available to bring drinks. The breakfast buffet was always fresh and delicious! Great service in there as well. The rooms are nice and clean nothing fancy but that’s ok you’re not in the rooms much. Get an ocean view because they have nice sized balconies with a beautiful view of the beach and pool area. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Only thing I can think of is better tv service in the room. Our tv only had 6 channels.

The hotel is beautiful, well appointed and in a great location. The buffet breakfast was amazing! Also, we liked the fact that there were beach chairs and umbrellas available for free for hotel guests.

The thermostat in our room was set at a very low temperature (about 66 degrees Fahrenheit--but in Celsius so we had to keep making the conversion) so we thought it was broken. We complained the first day but it wasn't until the second day that we were told that guests cannot control the room temperature so we had to turn it off at intervals just so we didn't freeze. This was handled very poorly by the desk agents and all they offered us were more blankets! If you like it freezing cold in the room this is the place for you.

I was very disappointed in the quality of this hotel for the price. The beds were awful. Sat on the side of the bed to take my shoes off and the mattress had no structure to it. I found the side of the mattress sinking when I sat on it. The baseboards appeared to not have been dusted or cleaned in years. There was not a blanket or comforter on the bed. Most high-end hotels now only use the duvet cover technique. This hotel just had nasty dark brown old blankets in a bag in the top of the closet, which I refused to use. I found myself keeping warm with the piece of material at the base of the bed for shoes or luggage to protect the sheets from getting dirty. The room was freezing cold when we arrived and the AC fan very loud. I was shocked to not see a real door on the toilet/shower area. That was disgusting. No one wants to hear someone else taking a bowel movement in such close quarters. The outlet on the desk/dresser would not hold the lamp plug. It kept falling out.

Very nice hotel, perfect location,close to everything. Very tasty breakfast with a big choice, friendly and nice personal. It was absolutely perfect :-) thank you all :-)

One thing what i didnt like (but that is only me), those duvet are very tin,like a bedsheet. I was cold at night. But maybe it perfect in summer,in March wasn't it that case.

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. From check-in to check-out, it was a very pleasant experience. Always felt very safe with security on site 24/7. The food/drinks were excellent at the Alligator bar and the hotel had the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. Staff brought food/drinks to the beach so we never had to leave. Huge plus, beach chairs/umbrella were included with our stay. Rooms were clean and we had plenty of towels. We were so tired every night we didn’t notice the lack of pillows (one each). 10/10.

Elevators were always busy, had to take the stairs 7 floors a couple times. Lack of pillows.
