    • For our last night in Peru, we wanted to treat ourselves to opulence. After trekking in the mountains and in the jungle we wanted to immerse in luxury. Upon arriving, hotel employee treated us as royalty! The hotel exceeded all expectations!
    • Staff were fantastic specifically they helped us with an Uber driver who was struggling with our trip . Breakfast was really well done, fresh and many options. The room was quiet and bedding was exceptional, it was firm with a soft foam, slept great.
    • Our concierge Nelson was the absolute best in the world. Whatever we needed and whatever questions we had, he took care of everything for us with an amazing sense of urgency and decorum. With his help, we obtained reassurance that we would be able to get to Machu Picchu in spite of the threatened rail road shutdown in September.

    Cons -

    • Dinner was disappointing for a high end hotel. Food was below average and service was just ok.
    • We liked everything. It was all outstanding.
    • The noise in the room they gave downstairs , and that it didn’t have a view.

The Country Club Lima hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, very comfortable and have a large bathroom. The decor is stunning with huge bouquet of flowers throughout the hotel and antique furniture. It has 2 pools and a small gym. The breakfast buffet is huge and offers a variety of foods. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Rooms were nicely appointed. The hotel was beautiful. I enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and service was very good.

When I checked-in the staff went out of their way to tell me the breakfast hours at the restaurant. The next morning I went in and gave the staff my room number. They acknowledged this and showed me a seat. I served myself from the buffet. When I went to leave, a server chased after me, telling me that I had to pay for breakfast. I told her that that I was staying at the hotel and was pretty sure my room rate included breakfast. I would check with the front desk and return to pay if needed. Rather than trust me, the server followed me to the desk with the check in hand and stood behind me while I spoke to the receptionist (theme here - see below). The front desk informed me that breakfast was not included with my reservation, and that there was absolutely no solution other than me paying the bill. That was odd. This was literally the first hotel in Peru to not include breakfast as part of the room fee, and I had understood that them telling me the breakfast hours when I checked-in implied that breakfast was included. In addition, in the morning, no one at any time handed me a menu or informed me of the cost for the breakfast buffet prior to presenting me with the check after I had finished eating. This is an odd way to treat a guest at a ‘leading hotel’. Maybe ‘sorry for the misunderstanding and here’s a discount’ would have been a nice gesture.

    Comfortable beds and well located.

Staff was often very unhelpful, snobby and dishonest. We were given a small room in a lower category than we had paid for and they said that they were full and couldn’t give us the room we initially paid for, but refused to reimburse the money we had paid for the room in a superior category. They said “it’s just like this and there’s nothing we can do.” After verifying on booking we saw that there were indeed rooms left in the category we initially paid for and other categories as well (as the hotel wasn’t full at all). They then insisted that the given room was the category we paid for (as if we were idiots). Then they changed tactic and said that if we REALLY have to have the category we paid for they would have to move other guests so that we could take their room (this is not true and something they said to not want to bother with our request anymore, as they figured it would make us feel bad.) it’s just such a ridiculous and unprofessional way to treat paying guests that have travelled half across the world to stay in their hotel… also the question remains why it would even occur to them to treat guests like this. It blows my mind.We kept insisting calmly but firmly that what they are doing isn’t correct and that we’d prefer to leave the hotel if this is how our stay is going to continue. Finally the manager Roberto agreed to give us an upgrade to a suite and apologized for the inconvenience as we had also asked to potentially extend our stay with 5 extra nights… long story short. All this nonsense robbed us of an entire day where we were given misleading information on purpose and not being able to unpack and finally relax after a very long travel. The two women who were playing cowboy in the reception kept having an attitude with us more or less during our stay but the rest of the staff were lovely.

    Nice location and comfortable lobby.

The room was dark, the decor very dated and obscured windows that opened to what looked like a maintenance corridor. We expected better.

    Excellent food and good variety.

The WiFi was slow. We tried to watch you tube and was extremely slow.

The hotel itself is beautiful! I absolutely loved the classic decor. The room was extremely spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The private garden was also lovely.

After five days of some intense trekking in Cusco, I couldn’t wait to get to this hotel for some well-deserved relaxation in the garden. However, when I opened the patio door, I was greeted with the sound of hundreds of screaming children jumping into a pool at the leisure club next door. This intense noise went on for many hours, and I had to call reception several times before somebody came to investigate. They didn't seem too phased by the noise, even though it was incredibly loud, but eventually offered me another room. I was very disappointed, because as beautiful as all the other rooms were, they didn't have a garden like this, so I opted to stay. My whole experience was ruined though.

Large room, good cosy bar, pleasant breakfast location, great food in the cafe.

Gym needs a leg press machine. Small pool was freezing cold

Great location in San Isidro. Beautiful traditional decor throughout. Good restaurant with very helpful staff.

The location was excellent and safe. Majority of staff, especially Eduardo (greeter at the front area where car services / concierge staff stood) was fantastic and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make certain we had our car service (s) and was knowledgable on traffic times during the holidays. He was personable, kind and content.

The ladies at the front desk on arrival (Dec 28 @ 5 pm ) were absolutely terrible. Introductory greeting was abrupt, and when we asked questions she was annoyed and bothered. On more than one occasion we had to ask her questions the following days and we would avoid her and ask the gentlemen instead. As a Peruvian and Spanish speaking family it’s quite terrible to have to deal with such a welcome and repetitive behavior. We understand people have an off day, however, on a consistent basis and as the front desk manager this is definitely not the image a hotel (such as the Country Club should like to portray). The hotel could use some updating—-the pool and health club.

Central location safe neighbourhood lovely room excellent housekeeping nice staff.

I would stay again. One small point is that reception staff while efficient could be a bit more charming and welcoming.

It is a beautiful hotel. The regisration desk staff and the concierge services were exceptional. Friendly and helpful, very informatative. The dining staff did a wonderful job of explaining the menu options. We had a delightful stay. I will we had stay longer. Next time. [s]

    Spacious room, great service

The hotel is mostly used for events, so you can end up having a wedding or similar every night which can have an impact on how quiet the place is. Service on the terrace isn’t as swift and friendly as before.

Is a beautiful property and located in a very nice area of town

If you're looking for a warm, cosy place, this hotel is not for you! Also, I found it quite interesting that the staff had an attitude, especially the guy at the reception.

Lovely hotel, good location, excellent breakfast, very clean.

Staff on reception weren’t overly friendly or helpful. Luckily Concierge were great, especially Eduardo. Marked it down as our room was next to air conditioning system which was very noisy, blacked out window to hide it so no natural light. Building works going on so banging and hammering all day couldn’t think straight when in the room. Shame as we were returning to Lima and would have rebooked if they had been more accommodating.
