Hotel Santo Tomás

Great service arranging tours, taxis, friendly staff, free breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, juices. Very clean rooms. Within a few blocks of shopping, parks, various eating places.

The manager Wilson was the best part of our stay. Shawn was so excited to hang out with you when we came back. We were all really glad to meet you.

The staff.. all of them were very friendly and super accommodating!

The place was very hard to find and super run down

Love the old tile. The staff were all wonderful. Breakfast was great! Only issue is when we entered the room the shower was freshly used with a dirty facecloth in it. Hand towel also used as it was wet.

Quaint historical building , nice hot tub , good breakfast .

It needs a little more attention to maintenance , no big deal just squeaky doors .

Function hotel in a dodgy part of town

Pathetic customer service. We wanted to move a night and Thomas just never responded. Wrote to him 3 times. Initially he hid behind his staff (tough gig) and lied that they were full (while selling 13 rooms on booking.com) My way or the highway attitude unfortunately

The hotel is conveniently located, a few blocks' walk to the Plaza de la Cultura, museums, central market and restaurants. It has a unique, historic feel and several different common areas including the breakfast room and patio. The room was clean with very high ceilings.

The room was much smaller than the photos on booking.com and it was challenging to navigate the stairs with a heavy suitcase.

Excellent staff. Lovely pool and garden area. Nice breakfast.

No bar or restaurant open in the afternoon/evening. No in room fridge, which I needed for medication.

The location was very good and close to all of the cultural attractions (Teatro Nacional, Museo Nacional, Museo de Jade) that we wanted to see as well as the large walkable shopping district with everything from clothes to books to souvenirs.

The room was clean and spacious enough for three people. It would have been nice to have a place to store some food (refrigerator) as there were a couple of grocery stores nearby that we went to frequently.

The Hotel Santo Tomas has been lovingly restored with special features by its owner and proprietor. It's a charming property well located in San Jose, close to restaurants and historical sites. Breakfast was excellent, icing on the cake. It is well worth the visit. Thank you to everyone there!

Amazing little oasis near center of San Jose! From the outside/street, you could not tell what awaited you inside! The building had been originally owned by a wealthier resident. Tall ceilings, intricate woodwork, beautifully colored tiled floors! Just a few blocks from Central Avenue where you can find shopping and dining.

As the entrance to the parking was secured with large roller gate, we were not sure where to pull in when we arrived.

I left early for a tour, before breakfast. Other properties provided a take away breakfast. Since the rate includes breakfast, this would have been a nice touch. Otherwise, offer a reduced no-breakfast room rate.

Loved the old historical charm of Hotel Santo Tomas and the staff was very accommodating, especially Marco who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was top notch. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed two nights in San Jose and Santo Tomas was perfect.

We loved how great the pool area was, the fresh cooked breakfast, the friendly staff and owner that greeted every guest and all of them went above and beyond to make our stay special. It is so close to all the downtown attractions which makes it a perfect locationto explore San Jose and it took about 20 mins from the airport by Uber to get there
