Pros +
- The place is wonderful, well designed and comfy. A very good place to stay. The staff is amazing, very likable and lovely people.
- Nothing to add here honestly, they were kind is maybe the only thing positive.
- The owner was giving us some good tips for going out. When we left she organised us a nice driver after we had technical problems with uber.
Cons -
- My pillow was slightly open and was leaking/shedding its filling. The bedside lamp was not working.
- **If you are traveling with kids or want some peace, read this**This is without a doubt, the worst experience I had staying on a place. Let me try to recap this because is a lot of sh17.-The parking: it was all an entire nightmare, when I arrived, first thing I did was request access to the parking lot, for what I received the first red flag “you can open and leave your vehicle in the parking lot once, so, if you are not ready, leave it outside, nothing going to happen”well, I said alright. I left the car in front and suddenly, I had to jump out of the shower and run outside because my wife told me that police was about to pick up the car. If I was not enough upset at that point, it turned out that when they saw my car just said “that car cannot fit in our parking slot, is too big” it is a Nissan Frontier, literally like half the cars on the world size. For that unexpected situation, I had to park my car on a parking lot turning the corner and PAY, yes PAY for a parking place because of their random and not confirmed parking place issue. Well, money was not the real deal here, the struggle was that I was visiting with my family, a kiddo and a baby, so can you imagine going outside, in the city in a place we don’t know in the middle of the night with a kiddo and a baby? We had to return from dinner quickly because we didn’t want to walk so late with our children a block on a dangerous place. Don’t even necessary to mention that our 3 months baby could get a cold from walking in the street in the night.-The location: Guys, you need to be considered and transparent, you need to specify that this is NOT a place to go with a family, instead of showing family rooms on booking. This is insane, dangerous and not ethical at all. Just to let you know that within 200m radius there were; a brothel, a Casino and a lot of escorts on the surroundings and 2 different club with a tremendous party and a lot of street people looking to earn something. Party ended 4 am ?
- Since some reviews mentioned it, I can imagine you might be able to hear the other rooms, but since the hotel was not that booked, we haven't had any problems.

Location and staff were nice
It was very dark
Comfortable bed, clean sheets, staff were friendly.
In desperate need of some upgrading. Very old and tired. Bathroom a disaster - 'shower' wasnt a shower it was a direct explosion of cold water. Lamp with no plug left beside bed. Carpet very old and stale. I only booked at last minute arriving from airport late at night.
Very spacious room. Friendly reception staff who helped with organising taxi for very early pickup. Good value for money.
Bathroom & toilet could have been a little cleaner.
Great location - about a 10 minute walk from the town centre / attractions. Wifi worked well. Staff were really nice to us. Really great restaurants across the street.
The hotel is a lot more dated than the photos. It has a lot of potential if it was redecorated.
Felt very safe here. There was 24 hour reception and the guy came outside to chat with me every time I went to smoke, which was appreciated and didn't feel overbearing. Very cool patio style building with lots of plants.
The name has changed from Hotel Inca Real to Amon Real, which made it a little bit stressful at the airport as the taxi driver didn't know where it was. It comes up on Google, maps under Amon Real though.
I had a nice simple room with big windows
there were poverty around, it's unfortunate for them
Would not recommend rooms very close together an no windows no English TV channels
The place looks old and tired and needs a refurbish
Neighborhood
Walls inside room was cleanless, dirty, also bathroom was ugly, humidity on room is awfull, also people talking too loud at sidewalks outside room.
Good location: near centre and bus station but quiet.Nice character building with pleasant lobby. Spacious bedroom. Good shower
Ground floor room was a little noisy as next to lobby. No external windows to room. Few facilities.
Close to everywhere pretty much downtown. Close to museums and some parks and sightsee so much!
Room and floors are not what i expected. Little dirty but for a day or 2 staying there was good enough.
the hotel has personality.
DIRTY! rooms are dirty, no ventilation in rooms with no windows , sheets are stained, bathrooms are dirty, smelled like mold.
Very poor
Very unclean. No a/c. Seemingly had prostitutes there looking for customers.
Good location, safe, friendly staff
the room itself was super simple, nothing special but fine for 1 or 2 nights
No good No badFair for $40
Parking really smallOnly for 2 carsLeft my car outside and was vandalized
Pretty cheap, quite charming but a bit rustic in term of comfort.
Great for a one or two night stay in San José.
Poor
Shower had no hot water!
