Pros +
- Great location close to downtown Zacatecas.
- Location , accommodation, stuff
- The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons -
- During our stay the hotel had a wedding. The wedding got loud music past 11PM. Afterwards the wedding guest continue yelling and being obnoxious everywhere across the hotel until 4 AM. If you go on the weekend to this hotel you are gonna get that.
- No update computers, terrible old computers .
- We couldn't do early check-in but the staff offered to keep our belongings. We paid for a room with a jacuzzi and the room was clean but above the shower curtain there was mold. The jacuzzi appeared to be damaged so we decided not to use it.

Staff, food, ambiance, comfortable bed!
Furniture (armoire) is showing some signs of wear.
This hotel is simply beautiful. The room and bathroom were spacious and equipped with everything needed, staff was very helpful and welcoming.
we liked everything.
Is a beautiful, historic landmark, close to the downtown
Still under remodeling, our room still had some old fixtures
Historic landmark, beautiful and well located, close to downtown
Still under remodeling work
Spacious rooms, comfortable bed and amazing venue
Property is beautiful, and well located.
The bath tub saw better times; it had dark /calcium stains.; we didn’t receive the usual courtesy in the evening, on our past stays had evening maid coming to arrange our beds, leaving chocolate and a different book mark every night, we missed that.
The history, the location and the personnel who work there.
I loved the patios
The gym was very oldThe beds were to soft
Bad experience
We booked one night with breakfast included, but when we arrived the hotel said it was not included, that you guys (booking.com) must pay the difference if the “included breakfast” because it was your mistake to advertise it. I have already sent an email to you guys, but I haven’t received any answer.
+ La camarera de habitaciónes was very friendly and cleaned the room well.+ Hotel looks nice from the outside and the courtyard looks nice, too.
- The level of English of the hotel’s staff is very, very bad. There are some exceptions, but overall it is very bad. Room service orders where only possible in spanish. Whenever I tried to order food via room service in english, they hang up the phone! This was incredibly disrespectful. How is this possible in a 5-star hotel for that price ?!- I booked the Gran Clase Suite (which is supposed to be the highest room category) but the furniture and amenities in the room were old and rusty. And the room was pretty dark. Also: not all lights were working in the room. Sorry, but I expect more if I pay a high price for the Gran Clase Suite.- Food and beverages are small in size but high in price. I payed for 4 bottles of still water more than €35. Chilaquiles for breakfast were €30 (for a small portion). - The minibar in the Gran Clase Suite was empty.
This is a beautiful and fascinating hotel. It is constructed around a former bullring. The public spaces are beautiful and you get a sense of history just walking around the property. The restaurant is terrific. It would be difficult to beat their breakfast anywhere in the city. Be sure not to miss the bar which are made from the tiny enclaves where the animals would have been kept. All of the staff and service are excellent at what they do.
For such a fascinating city, we expected the concierge service to be much better. The front desk staff tried their best to give us information for tours and restaurants. But their services were a bit lacking.
Location and arquitecture
Old carpets
On Saturday February 17 there was a party the hotel was hosting. The music was so loud and it didn't finsh till 1:30am. I was not notified of this event when I checked in.
The hotel is amazing! It's an old bull ring as indicated in the hotel description. An old aqueduct passes right by it. The whole atmosphere is rather charming.I arrived on an early morning flight. They let me check in right away as they had a room ready- though the actual check in time is 3pm. Throughout my stay I found the staff very friendly, kind and efficient. I have to make particular mention of Rebecca at the front desk. All of the requests I made to her were efficiently followed through. I also asked for a late check out on my fourth day (had an evening flight). She checked to see if there was availability and allowed me to stay on. She is also fluently atleast bilingual (English & Spanish) from what I saw.The other person I have to mention is the person in charge of the breakfast area. The breakfast that's included in the room rate is a continental style one with bread, fruits, coffee. I was curious about the Mexican fare they had on the weekend buffet. He practically helped me prepare a taco with yesca- walking with me the stations to assemble all the components! So on Sunday I went for the full buffet, paying ofcourse the difference in price. The room was pretty big and the bed was comfortable with a good variety of pillows. Very good housekeeping services.
Nothing really that would prevent me from staying here again! If I have to come up with any downsides...The rooms are not soundproof, but again the location is not noisy. One night that i went to bed early there was some noise from traffic and I used earplugs. The hotel is in the center but not right at the plaza de armas. On a map it is a short walk, but you have to climb up and down a hill.
Beautiful property… old world charm… front of the house staff (reception) was WONDERFUL.
Waiters at breakfast were NO WHERE to be found and when they appeared they were rude and condescending. Also, the cold water handle in the bathroom sink was inoperable.
