    Pros +

    • Incredibly nice staff, very helpful. Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained and the room was pretty and very clean.
    • Location
    • Best part of the beach in Isla Mujeres. Really nice sun beds. Good breakfast, and really good food in the restaurant. Very nice clean rooms with lot of space.

    Cons -

    • FYI for people who have stayed at Na Balam before, is that it is no longer directly on North Beach. It is directly across from the beach; guests have free access to the beds/umbrellas through the Green Demon Beach Club.
    • The pool area was a bit booring and "dark".
    • We did not use the pool. Would have liked the vegetation to be cut back as the pool area was shaded most of the day. Also, more vegetation typically means more mosquitoes. Would appreciate a slightly expanded breakfast menu.

We liked the location, the room was basic but met our needs. The location was excellent—close to the beach and an easy walk into town for dinner. Loved that a beachside chaise came with the room. Maelisa was helpful.

The property was quiet and the rooms were spacious. It is a great added bonus to have access to Casa del Jaguar Beach Club across the street. The included breakfast was great, and access to a cabana bed on the beach added to the stay immensely!

The entire staff is wonderful. The room was spacious, beds good, shower fine. The beach is nearby with big loungers, but not visible from the property. Breakfast was served, and we were able to alter selections enough to easily accommodate dietary needs.

It was not possible to really darken the room, there were no hooks for damp bathing suits or doormats for sandy feet, and the bowl sink, while handsome, was very high. The trek to beach and breakfast was quick but convoluted, not easy for a less ambulatory person.

Very convenient to the beach. The staff was always helpful. Free breakfast was nice.

    No complaints.

Great location. The pool area was amazing . A perfect cooling area coming back from the hot sun and the beach. Hotel is right across from the beach and cabanas are reserved for the hotel clients .

Water in the shower did not warm up much

    The location

The stairs were very steep. Very loud area…. We could hear people very early in the morning and partying at night and it sounded like they were right outside our room. Also, if Na balam is sister resort to Casa Jaguar, I felt as though we should have been able to use all of their facilities as well because those that stayed at Casa Jaguar could use our facilities and the breakfast offerings were different as well, which in my opinion didn’t make sense.

Love staying here. Staff so nice especially Melissa .. and I enjoy the breakfast included beach front .

    9KellyPosted on: 7-18-2025

We did not eat at free breakfast.

The beds were pretty firm and not the best pillows but I would still go back again and again.

    5JorgePosted on: 7-1-2025

staff and cleanliness. Breakfast was average.

pool had too much shade always freezing cold. Not really beach access. You had to spend a minimum to use beach chairs. They did make an exception for the rest of the trip. Beach service was mediocre at best.

Never went to the beach on the property instead went to the north beach water was more calm. Very boring hotel.

We were charged double because we didn't like the original room.we tried to eat lunch the first day and the food was not properly cooked.

    5DavidPosted on: 6-6-2025

Location is great near Playa Norte beach and walking distance to the downtown.

Steps are steep and varying heights, not safe. Lofts in upper floor rooms do not cool and there were bugs. Shower pressure is intermittent and little to no hot water. Pool wasn’t cleaned and had crusty materials on it as well as debris from the trees. Chairs by pool are worn out and need updating.

    10PrudencePosted on: 5-30-2025

Large room. Ability to hold luggage for early arrival and when checking out. Was able to use pool shower after already checked out, but had still spent the day at the beach.

    Everything was great.

Love the location having been to this part of the island before. Room was a great size, and we enjoyed breakfast at sister hotel overlooking the beach. The sun beds on the beach were also a bonus. Has a nice low key cabana feel if you don’t want a larger hotel style accommodation.

Reception staff and welcome wasn’t great. I had read reviews about yoga classes being included and when I asked they almost laughed at me. So no you need to pay extra for yoga! I went to the beach classes instead. At another hotel nearby, limitless water was included but only a small bottle was included at this hotel per day. Which isn’t much for the price I thought. However it doesn’t cost much to buy from a local store of course.

The hotel is very unique and the location is amazing. So close to the beautiful beach and the great shopping just a few blocks away.

The rooms are a little dated, and showers may need a makeover in the near future.

    6MelissaPosted on: 4-16-2025

It is very very loud early and late and all day. We asked for a different room but they said all the rooms are just as loud. The hotel is on a busy little. street to MIA Reef and other hotels and beach clubs. We love the beach clubs around there that’s why we picked it. The taxi drivers hung out three feet from our window. The bed was very comfortable and our room was large. The patio furniture was also very nice. The landscaping is beautiful. The paths and patio are stone are difficult to walk on. Hot water was spotty in the shower. There are steps into the toilet then again to the shower. If you have mobility issues not great. It’s not a bad place just not one we would stay again given all the other options on the island.

Next to the beach, breakfast and beach club. Lovely garden full of nature.

The rooms could use more light, TV didn’t work, the rooms could have a mosquito net.Mainly the fact that having a SPA treatment I was not told paying with credit card I would be charged 19% comision.Until I was about to pay. I know some buisnesses charge 3 to 5 percent but 19% is a bit steep. The SPA treatment was nice.
